Built a new computer using my old Alienware Chassis and existing ATX OEM 1000 watt power supply. Purchased Gigabyte X99 Gaming 5P motherboard, Intel i7-5820K processor, Seaagte 1TB internal SATA hybrid hard drive, LG 16x Blue Ray disk drive, 4x Crucial 16GB DDR4-2133 memory cards, CPU Fan LGA 2011, XFX AMD Radeon R9 390 8GB graphics card, Windows 8.1 64 bit operating system, and Logitech MK710 Wireless keyboard and mouse($2020.15). Everything works perfectly.

If you're looking for the latest and greatest LGA 2011-3 that offers the best bang for your buck, this is your processor. Sure, the 5830k has a few more PCI lanes.. but who's going 4 way SLI? If you're doing more than 2 way SLI, this isn't for you. There just aren't enough lanes. The 5960x is an absolute beast, but it's also 3x the price... This processor is blazing fast, make no mistakes. Plus, it overclocks REALLY nicely. I'm using a Corsair H100i GTX and can get this to a stable 4.2ghz at a nice and cool 40c

Great processor, got it on sale as an entry into the X99 chipset. Having the much needed ram capacity with 8 slots is a huge step up from previous CPU and chipset. Easy to overclock and extremely fast multi-threading processing.

Great and fast easy to install proc for my home computer

Skylake dissapoints, but Haswell still amazing. Overclocked it to 4.2 GHz easy. Very easy to overclock if you know what you are doing, otherwise see a few videos on youtube and read( very important) before overclocking.

Realized that this processor won't sit comfortably on my mother board, I had to return it. The one I want/need (i5 3770k) is $$$. Can't afford it!

Love these chips. Easily over-clocking and a much better value than the 5930K which only gives you an additional 200mhz for over $200 more. The X99 Chipset is IMO superior to the Z170/Skylake and is far more stable and reliable. Best choice for custom builds today.

Don't over lock this CPU it gets really slow, I have a pretty decent cooling system

I got this CPU on the recommendation of the guy that was helping me build my new gaming computer. The 6/12 cores are great. I have been running multiple clients (4+) of online games and have not noticed any reduction in performance
