The first 2 years came free with a computer purchase, but I continued the annual subscription because it covers 3 devices at a time and works on both Windows & Mac computers. The software provides Alerts and monthly reports.

WebRoot - PC Security Package

I've had it several years now and it works seamlessly. You can keep the subscription through automatic sign up. If something is strange call the Geek Squad and they will be there to research the issue.
