Great idea but needs to have higher resolution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a quick way to digitize your slides. It does an okay job but lacks resolution when you want to enlarge the image. Works well to save your old slides, but don't expect great results if you want large wall hangings.

Good scanner but difficult process
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried the scanner for a few days on negative film. The pros are easy to use, stable, quick, good resolution, simple user interface, stand alone device. However, after I scanned a few strips of film I noticed dust and fuzz on the images. The device comes with a brush to wipe the inside of the thing were the slide goes into but it is so hard trying to keep fuzz and dust away from the negative and the inside of the machine. I would say if you are just trying to preserve a huge amount of old pictures then this item is really cost effective. If you are trying to scan the negative so that you can have a really good digital image after I would recommend to take to a photo shop where they can clean the negative and scan it in a clean area without the dust etc.
