A nice retro boombox. I bought it for my daughter who mostly wanted to record and play cassette tapes, but besides the radio, she plugs in her MP3 player and plays content through the speakers. The speakers are adequate for a bedroom, but this unit is missing the bass of the old style boombox. It's lightweight and usually plugged in. We'll try battery mode if it goes outside. It has a nice set of features. Make sure you're not looking for a CD player, because this doesn't have one. I got it on sale, which made it a more reasonable value.

So much better than I was expecting. Plays out old 80s and early 90s cassettes with that same classic cassette sound we all thought was awesome until the first time a song was played in digital format. The Bluetooth is very easy to connect to and it sounds great. Other than the digital options, that are very well placed in the retro toggle switches, it is 100% like the Boom boxes of the eighties. It was a hit at the new year’s party. We had the handle up and the antenna raised as it went from shoulder to shoulder with friends reliving their teenage years. I 100% love it.

For the money, it’s a nice, functional system that does Bluetooth, has a rechargeable battery and not just 8 massive D cells, and even does a passable job with playing tapes. I use mostly 3-head decks, and although tapeheads scoff at the Chinese mechanism in this boombox, it’s nice to have a player that my child can operate without ruining old tapes. The lack of an auto stop is a little weird, though. Note also that this has just two speakers. I have the original Panasonic this is copied from, and the difference in sound is not what you might think. So I give the Ion the thumbs-up.

Sound is great! Bluetooth works very well with all my Bluetooth abled electronics. Easy to use to transfer your old tapes to a SD card.

I bought this boombox for two main purposes: For radio listening and for playing continuous music. For radio listening, I can easily find the AM or FM radio stations that I want to play any time, and I like its clear sound. For playing music continuously, I simply plug a USB flash drive that contains music into the USB slot in the boombox, and then I turn the boombox on. This Christmas season, I am enjoying the Christmas songs that I have copied from several CDs to a USB flash drive. This boombox also has other functions, but I don't use them.

Always wanted a boombox that reminded of my fathers from back in the day, sounds very similar to the old Sony my dad had, a lot less distortion especially at high volume, bass is good depending on the song (dont expect it to shake up your walls or bump hard) the deck plays cassettes very well and with a lot less background noise compared to other decks, all in all 4.5 of 5 stars mostly for the radios poor reception even with the antenna fully extended and finely tuned, but still highly recommend it!

Fun Boombox - Cassette, radio, thumb drive, and blu tooth. Sound is very good / not great. I picked up at a good price.

Very retro cool. This looks exactly like a boombox from the '80s but with modern functionality like bluetooth. AM/FM radio and tape deck are fully functional. You can record to and from the tape deck to and from digital media. It works either on AC, internal battery, or D batteries if you want to be super retro. The sound isn't excellent compared to other bluetooth speakers, and I wold recommend not using the bass boost mode because the audio distorts a lot.

Great sound quality nd I thought tape decks were a thing of the past...but with extra features, you can not go wrong. Price is RIGHT ON.

I bought this to use for an outdoor event (an 80's themed wedding) and it worked well enough. It got decently loud enough but seemed to struggle if you were more than 15-20 ft away and the sound quality isn't exceptional. I guess I would've expected more spending that much but it is more of a novelty item. Overall, I would say "okay." Bluetooth function was easy and worked well. AM/FM also is pretty good / the antenna does help as well as looks classic.

Brings it back to the vibe of the original boombox! I promise! The ability to actually play and record on cassette tapes is next level! Ive not only used it to jam out at the house or outside but even the aesthetics of it are cool for photos. At least for me! And its bluetooth, bass, everything you could want in a music player. if you are too young to know about boombox you get the upgraded version lol.

I am in love with the this radio. It brings a lot of memories of my youth. The fact that it works with Bluetooth is a plus! The sound is not as good with other Bluetooth speakers, but hey, it works without Bluetooth! Radio works well and an added bonus, it comes with integrated rechargeable batteries that last about 8-10 hrs. The volume level is good enough for most areas, including outdoors.

I got this as a Xmas gift for my hubby, who loves all things retro. Out of all the gifts he loves this the most! He uses it everywhere, while he showers, while he works in the basement, etc. He loves using his Bluetooth through it. Also thrilled he's able to listen to his old tape collection in it. The sound quality is great. He says daily how awesome it is! I definitely scored points w this gift!
