This device has very good sound and good battery life. I have used it almost every weekend and holiday since I got it, weather permitting. The sound is very good for a speaker this small, and I usually use it for several hours at a time. My only gripe is the really Inadequate manual that came with it. To learn how to care for the battery and other details of its operation I had to go to the Ion website. I urge anyone who buys one to visit the website before using it, maybe during the initial charge.

After looking at several similar outdoor radios I selected the Tailgater Express. I’ve used it continuously while working outside and it is great. It holds a charge after a quick charge and works well with AM and FM reception. I’ve even used it around water and it is indeed water proof. A great outside radio for the price and I do not regret my purchase.

Battery life is not what it says to be I get maybe 7-8hrs playing at half volume so the battery wont die..sounds good but wish last longer

Bought this for a corner spot in the kitchen. My wife wanted radio and bluetooth. This fit the bill and is actually overkill for our use. Sound is very good. Bluetooth synced up first try and has good distance. Very good battery life. Radio reception is fairly good, but some stations were a challenge to tune in. I did find that their suggestion of removing the power cord did improve radio reception. While I don't see us taking it out to picnics very often, the portability and water resistance is a strong plus. Overall I rate this as a very good buy.

Good speaker to go out, watter proof, resistant, compact, good price, louder, nice features. The only bad point is cassette battery doesn't last too long but is ok.

I received this for father's day, after actually also unknowingly buying the same one for my own father. We both are audiophiles, and this speaker has been great, especially considering the price. I've used it on battery power for hours, with no issue, and have had it charging my cell phone the entire time. It's light weight, but packs a punch for it's footprint. It's also listed as waterproof, and while I haven't fully tested this, I have had it strapped to the front of a kayak for a day on the water (tuned to an FM radio channel)...which it handled like a champ. I've also had it hooked to a small projector, for fun times on the go. Overall, its provided plenty of sound, with a nice range for both music and movies. Great purchase for my dad, and I was very excited when my kids bought the same one for me!

This is a multi functional blue tooth speaker, am fm radio and karaoke machine. built in rechargeable battery. Easy to go from room to room. Perfect if your working around the house. I am very pleased with my purchase.

If you are looking for a multi use speaker this is it! It’s loud with a lot of bass. USB Bluetooth microphone aux cord connection. Small to carry!

It is extremely lightweight, waterproof and the option to connect you phone to charge if necessary. The speaker has quality sound. Works for tailgating or outside weddings.

So far, happy with the purchase. I bought as a gift for fathers day. We like to go to drive in movies and were looking for something with good sound AND a radio tuner in one. We have not had a chance to test it out at the movies but we have been using it around the house. It is nice too as it pairs easily with other electronics, including our Amazon Dot (and Echo). Package says battery lasts up to 30 hours with continuous use. Again, have not tested it out. If that is true, then I would HIGHLY recommend this device. Price was ok. There were no sales going at the time so paid full price. I saw radios online at other retailers that were lesser, but I really wanted to be able to test and return if not happy.

This is a great sound quality speaker. When in the house it fills the room with sound just like I like it. The bass is great, and it's also very durable.

Nice and portable, not the biggest one out there which is why we got this one, while I hoped it was a bit louder at first I soon realized that it is actually pretty good especially outside. Plus the pricepoint is what makes it such a great deal.

Overall this little system gives you good sound when pairing your Blue Tooth or line in system. The battery lasts at least six hours, and is safe to have outside even if it rains a little. The one drawback was the AM/FM radio reception is good on somedays, but not on others.

Purchased this for one of my work trucks and they haven't broke it after 3 months. I'm impressed! Sounds great!

Good speaker for the money, wish it was a tad louder but i bought it to be heard over my smaller speaker AND be water proof, which it withstood w flying colors.

I recently purchased this speaker for my 12 y.o daughter and this provides great sound and it's much louder than I ever expected light weight for easy carrying and storage. You won't be disappointed it has a built in usb outlet and a plug for a Mic karaoke is now a big thing in our household. Good product. I recommend purchasing. I plan on getting another for my niece soon.

The Ion Tailgater Express Bluetooth speaker is a good buy at the price. Decent quality sound and the Bluetooth features works great. Easy to pair with another Bluetooth device. The AM/FM reception is OK, but is very directional, so just turn the Ion speaker to improve reception if it isn't good at first. Overall, a good buy.

The sound is quality for such a small package. FM reception will vary on where you are (terrain wise) in relation to the station you’re choosing. Bluetooth connection is solid, utilized this speaker on a horse farm I volunteer on and walked across to a different turn out area 50’-75’ away and it never dropped connection. My only gripe/complaint was the battery life. At first it was awesome, then it slowly diminished. The day I returned it, I had to recharge the unit three times just to get the project I was working on completed. As soon as I would plug in my phone to utilize the power bank, the fully charged ION’s battery would drop to one bar to compensate. And within minutes it would say it was out of juice, unplug the phone and it would slowly crawl back to three bars of power. So it has its flaws, but it was a good unit. My sole purpose of getting it was to use it on the farm, and keep it in the back of my Jeep for when we go out for some trails. But, at the rate it was going, I’d need to either charge my phone independently off the USB (leaving the Jeep on to get power). Or, have to hardwire in a power inverter and run it to the back of the Jeep to be able to leave the ION plugged in for constant power to keep it powered on and charged. Either way, way more work than I wanted to have to do for a portable speaker to meet its full potential. If you just want a solid portable BT speaker with great sound for around the back patio, or garage, this is great. But for true portability, depending on what you’re looking to do it could require a little extra labor.

For the price it’s a nice looking compact portable radio with a good, but not great, sound. I like that I can listen to the radio or play music from my phone through the bluetooth feature. The battery also seems to be lasting for a good amount of time after a full charge.
