    Iphone 6s Battery Replacement

Top notch service. 1 day turnaround and I get a new life for my iphone 6s. I really wish phones still had removable batteries so this wouldn't be necessary but since you have to, Geek Squad will get it done!

Best Buy has a lot of room for improvement

Please don’t waste your time. I set up an appointment to get my battery replaced and was actually looking forward to having my battery life back. Unfortunately that dream quickly came to an end as I felt disappointed and frustrated after my appointment. It started off slow as I had to wait in line 20-30 minutes after my appointment time was for. I understand that things take time to be done right but the customer should feel like the staff is sorry for the long wait time. After waiting in line I was finally helped by a man who seemed like I was a massive bother to him. He took my phone and told me that he will need to check In the back to see if they had a battery for my regular iPhone 12. He came back after a good 20 minutes just to tell me that he couldn’t replace my battery because they only had the 12 pro in stock. The frustrating staff member couldn’t look me in the eyes to tell me that they couldn’t replace it. Even when I have done nothing to make him feel like I was upset with him he seemed like I was a waste of his time. During our very frustrating confrontation he just kept making excuses about how it’s apple’s fault. Going forward I wish best buy could add a few steps to prevent a similar ordeal from occurring again. First it would be nice if they stopped the problem before it happened by simply not allowing me to make the appointment if they didn’t have the part. It would also be nice for them to be more realistic with their times because not only was I waiting in line for a while but also at least 4 people behind me also had to wait for a long time. Another thing I would like to see improvement in is just the bare minimum of respect that the staff should be giving customers being met. I do appreciate the staff member that greeted me at the front door because they welcomed me and showed me where to go to and checked on if I had my appointment. Overall my experience was poor to begin with and was made worse by the staff. If you are looking to replace a phone battery I greatly recommend you skip this waste of time and get your service done by Apple directly. I am sure I will be back at a Best Buy again and I hope to see that these problems are resolved so that others can get the treatment that they deserve.

Broke my phone and still no replacement

I brought my iphone8 in for a battery replacement on Monday. I was told there was a spark when they tried to install the new battery and the policy was to replace the phone. On Wednesday I was told that instead a manager had evaluated my old phone and determined it was fine. They returned it to me and it was immediately obvious that haptics and vibration were not working. At first I was told they forgot to reconnect haptics and it would be a 10 minute fix. More than 30 minutes later, they told me the phone was unfixable and the home button now didn’t work, so they would need to order a new one. At that point, it could be up to another week! I was given no option to keep my old phone while they waited for the new one to arrive, even though they acknowledged that they did not need to send it to Apple immediately to receive the replacement. (They said I could take it to an Apple store myself, but that there was no guarantee that Apple would replace it!) It’s now Friday and I’m still without a phone. There was no option for a loaner and no consideration that I rely on my phone for disability accommodations. It is unacceptable to break my phone and leave me without one for at least a week! Due to the lack of communication and consideration from Best Buy, I don’t have good confidence at this point when or if I will receive my replacement phone.

My battery replacement ended up taking FOUR days due to what Geek Squad claimed was “something on Apple’s end”. I am a mental health clinician, my phone was held “indefinitely” until “Apple” responded. They were waiting for a response via message, instead of calling Apple. I love that for my clients who were unable to reach me via phone call.

Turned my iphone into a paper weight

Took my perfectly working iphone 8 for battery replacement since it was saying battery is charging max to 79% only. Everything was fine just that I had to recharge it everyday. Well, a big mistake. Geek squad agent checked me in, ran some diagnostics on phone, filled some paperwork and accepted the phone for battery replacement. I made the payment and was asked to pick it back in 2 hours. I go to pick it later and am handed a dead phone. Agent tells me the battery has been replaced but its not charging. He cant do anything but can only return my service fee. Is this a joke? I lost a working phone and along with other info and now need to buy a new phone urgently and Bestbuy won't offer any compensation or a discount to buy a new one. Their service agreement states reasonable compensation in case of any mishap on their part, but seems it is just a sentence in fineprint.

The phone turned out OK, but the it took the Geek Squad 5 hours total on 2 days to replace a battery and I had to make 3 trips to the facility to drop off and pick up the phone. The customer interface and supervision were completely clueless. On the second visit, they recorded my check in 20 minutes after I actually arrived because they have no formal checkin process. The results were ok, but the facilities process are a complete cluster

    Go somewhere else

1/21/2021: I go in for a battery replacement for my iPhone 6s. They do the battery replacement and inform me my phone won't turn on. They offer to send it to Apple for a full unit replacement (new iPhone 6s). I agree and they say it will take 3-5 days excluding weekends. I was also given a gift card for the troubles. Ok 1/26/2021: I receive a call that my phone has not arrived and that it will be there on Thursday/Friday. I spend my Thursday trying to get a hold of Geek Squad and all I get is an answering machine and 17 minutes on hold (And I understand with Covid and all but I called 4 times). 1/29/21: I drive to the store and explain the situation. They say that Apple changed the code they used etc. and the Geek Squad workers confirmed the change right there when I brought it up. This change was there from 3am and I arrived at 6pm. They offer me a temporary phone which would have been nice to have in the beginning. They say it could be there on Saturday or today. 2/1/2021: I called today and was very surprised the phone was answered. My phone is still not here and I was then told it could be here tomorrow or the next day. This is what I've been told for the past week. I ask if they can actually give me a realistic time frame and they say that Apple does not provide tracking numbers so they can not say for sure when it will arrive. I still do not have the phone that they said would take 3-5 days to arrive. If I had known all of this would happen I would have not agreed to send my phone off.

Took IPHONE 7 for battery, paid $50. I now have a paper weight. They say it’s not their fault though, they told me there could be “screen issues.” Unfortunately, they never warned me that my phone would be useless. I paid $50 for them to damage my phone.. BTW I wanted to give zero stars

No. No. No. waste of time x2. Scheduled appointment to replace battery of iPhone 7 Plus. Brought it in. Spent 1/2 hour at counter while the Geek ran some tests. Then he says "we don't have this in stock. We can order it." Really? How about tell me this when I make the appointment online. Ok, fine, here's $50, order the battery. 2 weeks later battery arrives. I go to store. They run some more tests. Say I have a screen issue. Screen replacement costs $175. Can't/won't replace battery unless I also replace screen. No. No. No. It is my phone. I bought it. I own it. It is not under warranty. Replace the Battery!! I paid for it. I'm here for the second time. Why didn't you do this test the first time when you spent 1/2 hour running the other tests? SUCH A WASTE OF TIME. SUCH A STUPID WASTE OF EVERYONES' TIME.

    iphone battery replacement time waste

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Was advised by inherent phone diagnostics that my i-phone battery needed to be replaced. I used apple's link to schedule an appt with my local best buy specifically for battery replacement. I arrived early with cash in hand for advised repair and was seen within a few minutes. After 10 minutes of diagnostics to make sure "nothing else was broken," I was advised that I needed the battery replaced, but that they did not have one. They further advise I should go somewhere else to have that done and that I needed to sign a paper stating they told me that(which took another 10minutes to print). No offer/ability to perform the service. No offer/ability to obtain battery for service at a future appt. Just "go somewhere else". This whole process was a waste of my time and theirs. Be aware before you waste your time too. . .

    conflicting info from agents

I scheduled an appt online to get my iPhone X battery replaced at a store near my house. He went through the motions of making sure the battery was in stock and did a diagnostic on my phone. He was getting me all set up about to change my battery until he realized the speaker had to be replaced also but they had none in stock. I was okay with that and scheduled another appt at a different location. I went to that store and that agent told me my phone is fine and they weren’t going to replace my battery. I was really disappointed in the service of the inconsistency between the two stores. If I’m going to pay for a new battery out of pocket I would like to have had it replaced.

    Negative -1 STAR Review

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

There should be a provision for NEGATIVE STARS selection. I've generously provided a 1 star for having allowed a review option. It is extremely difficult to contact a person telephonically at Geek Squad inside an actual stores. Noone picks up the phone. I went to the store closest to me, asked the Geek representative about my battery replacement. He stated that they would need to order the battery part, but I would be required to leave my I-phone with them upto 1 week as they do not stock batteries onsite. I don't mind the ordering part taking one week to arrive, but it is extremely unreasonable to require a guest leave behind phone for 1 week in their store until the battery arrives. Secondly, he said it is a matter of policy between Best Buy and Apple that they cannot order parts until I complete the order and leave it with them. Seems very inconvenient and illogical for a simple battery replacement. Best Buy website does not offer a true and reasonable solution as to where i can take my device for battery replacement. I called the toll-free Geek Squad support, and they were of no useful help other than recommending making an appointment at a store to diagnose the problem. I have Total Tech subscribed but I'm starting to question what is the value of this program if I can't get reasonable service?

    Poor inventory management & communication

I had Best Buy replace the battery on my last iPhone so decided to do the same with my current one. Booked my appointment 2 days prior via Apple's website. The nearest Best Buy that offers this service is a 35-40 min drive from my house. Arrived at my appointment a few minutes early and upon check in was informed they didn't have the battery in stock. Apparently Apple is "not able to see" what the store has in stock. Ok, I can see the challenge that brings, but I'm not privy to those issues and I would expect the store would review their appointments for the day and know they need XX of XX batteries for that very specific service and, if they don't have it, contact the customer and apologize and reschedule. No, instead I got to waste over an hour of my time driving to and from here. I'll stick with the Genius Bar moving forward.

Went in to have my iphone battery changed. The technician stripped the screw to access the battery so im stuck with a phone that im unable to change the battery and forced to either live with a bad battery or replace the whole phone. IF YOU NEED TO DO THIS SERVICE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO AN APPLE STORE. They will accept responsibility for doing something like this.

iPhone Battery Replacement that didn't happen

Booked an appointment for an iPhone battery replacement. Got there on time. Go to check in and told that Best Buy doesn't service my model, the iPhone SE (1st gen). I just checked the website and it says they do replace the battery on my particular model. So did I get an uniformed Geek Squad person I talked to, did they not want to do the repair or is the Best Buy website not up to date with their own repair procedures? Thanks for nothing Best Buy! An hour round trip, gas and tolls down the drain. Glad I was on time for my appointment because I didn't want to be inconsiderate of your time, unfortunately you were inconsiderate of mine.

Had an appt but could not do the work

I booked an appt for a Sunday afternoon at 5:20 for a battery replacement. I used the Apple Support app. I got to the store at 5:10 and they told me it was too late to wait on it! I had to either drop it off or rebook the appt. Leaving it was not an option. The phone is needed. So I had to rebook. Why can’t this booking process be more transparent regarding dropping it off and waiting for it so the customer can know what to expect? I even tried to call the previous day to verify I would be able to wait and was told they couldn’t tell me because they didn’t know and had no way to check. Nor could they tell me if they had the battery in stock. Anyway - long story made short - I wasted my gas and time to drive to the store only to have to turn back around and go home. Can’t the system for booking be any smarter so people don’t waste time? Maybe ask in the app if you are going to wait for it like the car and tire dealers do - and then don’t let us book it after a certain time if waiting becomes a non-option!
