In theory the scanner is great. The problem is after about 20 scans it just stops working. No errors, no warnings, no hints as to what the problem is. I can unplug and replug nothing. I need to reboot to get it to work again. Other than that it seems good. The software is old and outdated. Not a lot of features but it serves it's purpose. The reading tool is pretty good, on black on white, useless on a dark background. I don't know if the problem is with my system or with the device, either way, with no decent support it's hard to tell.

Understanding the directions, hooking up, downloading the program; all quite easy. Then scanned in 30 cards; all went quite well. However, the performance of the produce was TERRIBLE. I scanned in 30 cards to start, then checked the performance. The very best card scanned had only about 50% of the proper information from the card embedded into the program. However, less than 40% of that was actually embedded into the correct fields. Then, it took more time to "click & drag" the info plus to hand enter or correct the missing info than it would have to just enter the information by hand onto an Excel sheet. I returned the product 24hrs after receiving. I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone. It's awful.

One of the best investments you can make for cost if you make allot of sales calls. Save you tons of time. Only downfall is it does not recognize all the information all the time however overall works great!

Have used other brands of portable scanners and are not nearly as fast as this IRIS product. Highly reccomend this product!
