We named our Roomba "Rosie" after the robot maid Rosie on The Jetsons. I had moderate expectations from the reviews but any help cleaning the floors for my handicapped wife would have been welcomed. Right out of the box Rosie went to work. She powered through the house and when we put her away for the night I was amazed at all of the stuff in her trash tray... very pleased.

Package arrived in large shipping box. Opened box to find Roomba in a destroyed point of sale box with someone else's name on it. Assuming it had already been bought and returned. Fully charged and started to find the side brush motor defective. Picture provided of packaging.

I have set it up to clean while we are out at work/school. We get home and the house is clean. I've observed him in action and he will clean until the battery is at 10% then returns to charge. It is not loud, we set it up to clean early during weekends while we rest and have set up the invisible wall near our bedroom door so it doesn't bump into our door while cleaning. He definitely cleans well. I check the container every time he finishes cleaning and he picks up stuff we don't even see. We don't have pets so I am not sure how it will do with pets on the home. Overall this has been a great buy and we picked it up during Black Friday at a great price. Highly Recommend. CONS: Make sure you monitor him the first week of cleaning so that you can identify any dead spots. He tends to get stuck under our kitchen counters because they are exactly the height of the robot so I had to place some silicone bumper rubbers on the top edge of the robot so he bumps before he gets under the counters. He's very good at getting untangled form any wires/strings on the floor but too much cable clutter can be a challenge so tidy up for his path so that he can perform properly. Maintain all brushes and wheels once a week.

This is a great product! We don't feel like we need to vacuum at all in place of using the Roomba. It covers several rooms per day and automatically finds it's way back to the charging station with no problem. It's also not a noise issue. We have two cats which I thought would be terrified but they barely notice when the Roomba is on. It has noticeably cut down on dust and cat hair. We would definitely recommend this product, especially if you have pets.

Does a great job of cleaning my house! It does gently bump into things sometimes, but hasn't gotten stuck once in the week I've had it. I empty it once a day and other then that I haven't had to do anything since I set the schedule. Didn't realize how dirty my floors were until o got this thing. Navigates from one room to another with no issue, I just use the invisible wall to keep it out of the bedrooms since I always have stuff laying all over my floors. Great for anyone who hates cleaning as much as I do!

We have been using our IRobot for almost a month now. We have all hardwood floors and a few area rugs. So far the Roomba has worked even better than I expected! It is so convenient to set the schedule and let the IRobot vacuum the house while we are at work. It does a great job vacuuming and navigating itself around the first floor of our home. I definetly think it is worth a try if your considering one.

I got this Roomba because of the mess my super active toddler creates and also because I am a cleanliness freak. This is a great device if you set your expectations right. I had read lots of reviews before I decided to buy this one so I was aware that this machine is NOT for deep cleaning the house but mostly for everyday maintenance. But now instead of vacuuming almost daily and calling the cleaner every 3 weeks, I can rely on roomba and get the deep cleaning done in every 5 weeks. So it does help in saving over the long term. It is amazing how this machine navigates throughout the room. I prefer that it cleans one room at a time so that it is not 'lost' and I found that this way it cleans much better and much faster. I run it for about 10-15 minutes in each bedroom and about 20 minutes in kitchen. I use spot clean on the area rugs to ensure thorough cleaning. Also once a week I move the small furniture away from the wall so that it can clean behind and under them properly. Overall a good value for money!

I have had the Roomba 655, the Neato D80, and now the Neato Connected. I purchased and returned the Roomba (after my Neato D80 needed a battery after a year, I bought the Roomba) because the bin was not big enough for the amount of pet hair that my German Shepherd puts out daily. The Neato handles it with ease (both models). I also found the Roomba harder to clean than the Neato. That being said, the Roomba did work, ran a long time, picked up the dog hair and dirt, but the Neato just out performed it. So I gave it an average - someone who had not seen the Neato would think it was working fine.

This Roomba is great so far. We have 4br/2ba a condo with laminate floors and carpet. We just let her loose and the Roomba picks up dust, hair, gets around corners and into small spaces, and is easy to clean out. It saves us tons of time. I definitely recommend this product.

I'm lazy. This will do the trick with no fuss. Very surprising how good it works.

Cleans great and thoroughly. Seems to understand where to go and where not to go and learn from its mistakes. Holds up well to dog hair and large debris also. Has enough battery life to thoroughly clean my large two bedroom apartment.

I was slightly skeptical because a friend had mentioned to me that it didn't work great on her carpet, but finding it on sale at Black Friday sealed the deal for me. My boyfriend and I are preparing our home for a husky puppy so we wanted something that would help with the hair. We have been extremely surprised by how great this vacuum is! It jumps between carpet and wood floor and cleans everything so well! It even goes into our bathroom and laundry room and cleans the area mats in there. The only thing I'd watch out for is cords - it eats cords (and drawstrings on clothes) fairly easy...it forces me to keep a tidier home though! You can schedule it for time and frequency - we run it at noon every day and haven't had a single issue. Even comes with a brush to clean all the pieces from hair and what not.

Purchased this roomba primarily because of its price and I got a good deal. Second, i was searching for a good vacuum robot for pets. I have a couple of huskies and I am impressed how this one cleans. You may empty the bins a couple of times during its run for it can get full quickly. If you have furnitures with 4-5 inches, it may get stuck underneath. Block those areas where it can get stuck. This roomba pet version is very helpful to me.

We wanted to buy the Dyson V6 but ended up buying this and we love this. It does exactly what is described, it vaccums the entire house just by the push of a button. The only thing i think it could be better at was not go back and forth to places it has already cleaned but all in all a great buy. It picks up pet and human hair. Cleaning the hair from the vaccum is a bit of a mess

There are definitely some things you must do initially (which is maybe why things look so clean anyway) like picking up cords, clothes, etc., but so far we are very happy with it. AND... surprisingly our pup doesn't destroy it where before he ABSOLUTELY hates vacuums, but he is able to let this one run without getting too upset.

I have had this vacuum for a few weeks now and its amazing. We have two dogs and dark hardwood floors. The Irobot - Roomba 655 Robot Vacuum runs everyday while we are at work. Before the Roomba we would sweep or vacuum 3-5 times a week. Now we only have to vacuum on the weekends. Its amazing how much dirt and hair this thing picks up. You only think that your house is clean until you have this run for the first time. I was amazed by how full it was.After about a week we have noticed a decrease in the volume that is picked up daily. It comes with a virtual wall that works great with our house. We have a small drop off between the hardwood and tile and it works great. I would recommend this to anyone who has pets.

I have two cats and therefore there used to be cat hair and litter all over my place no matter how many times a week I was cleaning the floor. Roomba 655 saved my floor! It collects almost all of the cat hair and litter and dust from the floor. I can feel the difference. That said it does not go on my rug by it self so I need to put it manually on the rug and it keeps running away from the rug. Long story short it's great only for hard floor. Also it's not he most quiet robot ever but will turning the tv up I can live with it. My cats don't attack it so that's a good thing. In general I am pleased with the purchase and I hope it runs for a good while.

This baby does the job. Dont know why we did not get her before. It is set up for daily use and it cleans it all. It does run like 2 hours but most of the time we are not here for it. She does bump against a lot of things. I believe the high end ones don't. The best-spent money ever.

Got it during the black Friday sale for $270. Worth that but not more. It cleans well but the bin is small and needs changing each time. Have only used it once and it seemed like it took a long time doing two rooms.
