This won't completely eliminate your need to vaccum, but if you have pets, it'll make the day to day cleaning a lot easier. I gave this to my mom for Christmas, and it's helped a lot with her 4 cats and 1 dog situation. It used to be she had to vacuum every day or the house would be blanketed in fur. Since getting the roomba, she's vacuumed once, just to catch the bits roomba was missing but mostly the areas where we had used the virtual walls to keep roomba from going. We mainly use it in the kitchen/dining room/living room area, and it does a great job and really eliminates the need for daily or even every other day cleaning. The house is so much cleaner!

Works great, has some limitations. It does a great job of wandering around cleaning up all the dust bunnies my two large dogs leave everywhere. Its only real limitations are that it can't handle high pile area rugs, the dog hair gets wrapped around the wheel and rollers so those need to be cleaned daily, and that it does its best work when limited to smaller spaces. With that, it only takes 2 minutes to clean and I just close it in rooms to let it get those areas better. Overall...it is totally worth it and I'm even considering buying a second one. Not having to always see dog hair everywhere makes this the greatest thing since sliced bread in my opinion.

When I first thought about purchasing the Roomba I was very skeptical. I thought it would cause nothing but headaches: getting stuck, caught on wires, falling over cliffs. I can safely say after a month of owning it that this is not the case. It works extremely well and surpassed my expectations. After 10+ uses I've yet to see it ever get stuck. It goes over cords, rugs and clears thresholds with ease. Features cliff detection. It picks up pet hair and has an awesome filter in it. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is skeptical about it.

I recently purchased a iRobot - Roomba 870 Vacuum Cleaning Robot. This cost $100.00 less than the Roomba 880 and the only difference was the lack of a remote control. Since I just set the Roomba and let it clean, I thought the $100.00 lesser price was a great deal. I couldn't really see how I'd need the remote control anyway. I find the unit very easy to operate, and after using it a few times, it seems to do a great job cleaning. I would not say that it is a total replacement for vacuuming manually, but it makes that job more infrequent and that is exactly what I hoped for, This is the newest model with several improvements. Since it is my first model, I cannot say if those improvements are noticeable or not, but as a first time user, I am very happy with the result.

This is quieter and more powerful that the original or the second generation I have owned. It is not as obvious how to open the collector bin but once you know how it is easy.

The roomba a is a lifesaver. I used to have to broom everyday after work because of my little messy eaters. It was to the point I couldn't keep up with brooming/vacuuming anymore, as we babysat my nephew, on top of my two children, plus took custody of four other children on top of our long working days. I no longer have to broom anymore since buying this contraption. This also vacuum carpets! Granted it is not cheap, but it Is worth it.

I am very happy with my purchase. I have had it for 2 months already and I have set it up to clean twice a week so I don't even have to be thinking about cleaning... I just get home to find clean floors. My floors are white and I loose a lot of long hair and I have a carpet, yet my house looks spotless thanks to the vacuum. My condo is 800 SQ FT, it needs 2 charges to clean it all but I goes back to the charging station on its own. I highly recommend it. Service from Bestbuy was great and prompt.

Coming from a country where we never have to do cleaning ourselves, this product is an savior for me. Sales rep told me to get the Dyson instead because it has better suction power. However, I figured that i don't care if the latter has a better suction power if I won't do it regularly. This thing allowed me to clean almost everyday and true enough, even if I don't have a pet, it always gets something from my carpet (i wonder where they come from). Coverage is good, i never had problems with tangles, noise level is tolerable even when trying to sleep. Not sure about the battery yet.

I purchased this for my wife and kids for Christmas. I have always been a bit skeptical of the technology. After having used the 870 for one month, I have to say it works pretty good. It may not replace a vacuum entirely, but it does keep our new hardwood floors cleaner than the once a week they were getting and with out much effort(we have 2 dogs and a cat). Battery life is good. It does get stuck sometimes under chairs, but we have learned how to work around it. It also works very well on carpet in the kids bedrooms. Overall, it has worked better than expected and is easy to use. Its well built, and I hope it lasts along long time, given the price! Only 4 stars, because I dont know how long it will last.

Bought this for my mother who has medical issues, easy for her to set up and move as needed. Does a great job cleaning up even german shepherd hair. It has been great for her and her arthritis.

This product works very good. Keeps the floors clean. Every now and then gets stuck under my sofa and has to be pulled out and restarted. Well good product besides that

I would have given it 5 stars if it were easier to empty. I have dogs and it does a good job of picking up the hair but reservoir is small so you have to empty it often.

I was not satisfied with 650 that I bought based on reviews on You Tube. It didn't find it's home often and the filter looks cheap. Finally, it didn't charge itself and became not functioning within 14 days. Since I was not sure if the problems were related to the model or only to mine, I was going to just exchange it with other 650. But there was no inventory of 650 but only 770 and 870. I picked 870 primarily for the design because 770 looks too big and cheap. I am glad that I upgraded it with 870. It has HEPA filter and bigger bin. It's also a little more quiet than 650. In terms of everything, it's worthwhile to pay a little more $$ for long-term use. I also purchased 4-year service plan with which I can replace it with another one in case it's out of order. Less than $20/year, peace of mind for 4 years for a new product from a new company that I don't have an experience with.

I am a late adopter with robot vacuums primarily because I had performance concerns and did not want to pay hundreds of dollars for a large paperweight. However, I have been delighted by the performance of my Roomba 870. It has been in service for several weeks now with no performance issues and so far has proven to be an incredible time saver for me in maintaining our 2000SF office. Basic usage is intuitive enough that I was able to charge it straight out of the box and to use it immediately after charging without even consulting the product guide. In fact, due to time constraints, I still have not set up my barriers and have not programmed the unit for unattended use--I just hit the 'start' button and let the Roomba run in the background while I am doing other cleaning chores in the office. I especially appreciate that it is easy on furniture legs--which I understand is not true of all types of robot vacuums, or all models. The suction is amazing -- so far, I have not found a single spec of soil it has missed. While our floors are all sealed concrete I think in some ways this makes them harder to vacuum, as the dust tends to fly around when I am running a traditional vacuum or even vacuuming with a wand. The Roomba, thanks to its perseverance, seems to be able to eventually capture all of it. My only regret is that I did not purchase one of these sooner!

We replaced our previous with newer model thats quieter and appears to be more efficient. Can get stuck under items and sometimes when battery dies plays hide & seek. Recharging base needs to be improved because device tried to dock and base moves. Device scratches too easily. Definately good to get under furniture and tables where you most likely will be playing hide-n-seek to find it.

This works beyond my expectations. Clean, broom and vacume at the same time with outstanding results. We have 3 miniature pins her and when my wife mops literally almost no dog hair in the water. Clean pattern is wired but somehow it works fantastic. The small towers for isolate areas works outstanding. Way much better than the strips that other brands use. This little robot is incredible, and no I am not sponsors by Irobot, I pay $599 for it. Very well invested.

We named our Roomba Rosie. She is the most awesome purchase I have ever made. It is nice to come home to a clean house. We keep her in our most high traffic areas and she cleans once a day. You would not believe what we empty out of her bin each day. It is puzzling where she could even find all that dirt in our house EVERY DAY!!!! Love Rosie! Working on getting one for my mom!!

I am so happy that we bought a roomba! Our carpet is always clean. Easy to use. So happy with this product.

So my husband and I took a leap of faith and decided to get a Roomba. We have a cat who sheds like no other so this purchase was a blessing to our home. I still sweep the floor once a week but I certainly don't find nearly as much dust or hair anywhere. Also this model is definitely quieter than others I've seen and we like that feature. We also LOVE to come home to Clean carpets! Overall this Roomba is expensive but if you have the money go for it!
