This Roomba is well worth the money. We have used a Roomba off and on for over ten years. As newlyweds in a small apartment, its random bouncing around was more than adequate. When we moved into a three-bedroom house the older Roomba’s were ineffective. Now that we have two kids almost pre-teen and a poodle - we needed some more help. In comes the i7. We recently put in new LVP floors and while we love the look - everything shows. A crumb can be viewed from across the house/ We do sweep and mop regularly but the bulk of the stuff the Roomba takes care of and there is nothing quite like getting home from work and having clean floors. We got the i7 because of the mapping features, and the Alexa feature. The only negative thing is when the Roomba is emptying the dust bin into base, it’s a very loud suction noise for about 30 seconds. However, the base is one vacuum cleaning another vacuum.

I’ve been using this product for about 2+ years now and I must say that I made a great decision. Excellent performance cleaning up rooms, designing rooms in the app and scheduling vacuum on daily basis. I just changed my filter and cleaning bag - means it is cost effective and very less maintenance ( gotta cleanup some dust from time to time)

Previously owned a roomba 960. Liked it a lot but wanted to take advantage of the new features of the i7. The pros - it does a great job cleaning. Compared to the 960 I would say it’s maybe 20% better. I really like the ability to only clean certain rooms, areas or create zones to prevent it from going (much better than the older lighthouses you’d have to set around all over the place). The station that vacuums out the i7 is also excellent. Does a great job emptying the bin and leaves very little if any dirt in the bin. The cons... and really I have only one. The battery life is not what roomba advertised. My 960 gets about 1hr and 10 minutes. This gets about 1 hr and 20 minutes cleaning the same space. I think they advertise 2 hours (and there has to be some give here depending on your floor surface). Still, comparing it to my three year old 960 I was Not impressed with the battery life. I got it on sale with the station for 599. 200 off the price at the time I purchased it. Overall I’m happy with it and the features allowing for selective areas etc made it worth it for me.

This robot vac works wonders on my vinyl plank flooring and floor rugs. I have a Border-Aussie who sheds even after I brush her. There is no way I could keep up with vacuuming without this model. It has the power to pick up her top and undercoat plus the dirt she brings in. Then it empties into the sack so I don’t have to see it or touch it. As far as I can tell, the cleaning pattern covers the area I need it to. It works, goes in to the base to empty/charge and vacuums again. The only negative I find is the loud noise it makes when emptying which scares my dog. I guess the motor has to be powerful to do its job. The benefit outweighs the noise. I would buy again.

Recommend for pet owners. I recently purchased the iRobot, and I’m absolutely thrilled with its performance. This little robot has been a game-changer for maintaining a clean home effortlessly. The iRobot’s cleaning capabilities are impressive. It navigates around obstacles, gets under furniture, and leaves no dust or debris behind. The smart mapping technology ensures every corner of my home is covered, and it adapts to different floor types seamlessly. One of the standout features is the convenience. I can schedule cleanings through the app, so my home is spotless when I return. The ease of emptying the dustbin and the long battery life add to its practicality.

This Roomba is El Fantasitco! Super-A-Mundo! Excellente'! It's a modern version of the Flintstone's Mammoth-Vacuum! It looks cool and it works GREAT! I really like it. Even better, my wife likes it too. It has mapped our downstairs and can clean the whole area or just the ones you choose, Living Room. Family Room. Kitchen. Entry Way. You choose and it just does it. Nigh on flawlessly too. Oh it may get stuck on something but so far that has only happened once out of over 39 cleaning jobs (we have furry shedding pooches!). It took a few days to map the area but now it is sooo easy to use. I have not yet set up an automatic cleaning schedule but will do so soon. I cannot recommend this model enough! It really is that good. I can be at work and tell it to start cleaning and it does! How sweeeet is that! Hey! My older Roomba does that too! Sweeeeeeeeeeet! This Roomba is the bestest one yet and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it, especially so to people like myself, seasoned citizens with a slight physical handicap. It makes a clean home a clean breeze. Trust me. I know what I'm doin' when I'm reviewin'!

Pros: Maps the rooms perfectly Smart enough not to leave any spots uncovered Switches from carpet to hard floor seamlessly Decent battery life for covering larger areas Empties dirt into the bin effectively reducing a lot of hassle Keeps room clean when done periodically. Saves a lot of time Cons: The sweep brush at the side sometimes pushes dirt away rather than drawing it in Capable or picking up loose dirt/dust and for light carpet cleaning only, Powerful but sometimes not adequate, but unfair to compare with an upright vacuum or Dyson Not very effective to homes having pets

Picks up almost everything, being able to schedule cleaning has been a life changer. I have 2 cats, both shed a lot and like to leave food and litter on the floor. I am barefoot most of the time and even a grain of dirt on my feet will drive me nuts. I would give this 5 stars, but I feel like the filter could be better. It is always plugged, even after maybe 2 cleanings and I have to take it out, knock the dust and hair out of it, hit it with my other vacuum cleaner as well then reinstall. It leaves dirt and debris in the dust bin after self emptying and has never been fully self emptied. Doesn't honestly seem to affect it's function, but I don't live in a dirty home and have very little foot traffic. 5 stars if I didn't have to remove it frequently to clean it out. Should really be 4.75 stars but that is not an option! One of the best buys I've ever made.

Once you download the app and set up your Roomba, it becomes easy to schedule cleanings.I had no issues connecting it to wi-fi. It has a nice appearance, cleans well (cleans pet hair well) and has no issues returning home/dock. The things I didn't like are 1. short battery run time and 2. I find the Roomba to be a bit aggressive when cleaning. It tends to try and climb items in its way, tries to suck up power cords and curtains and bumps furniture rather strongly. Overall, a great robot vacuum but can use some improvements.

I think this version of the roomba is legit! I like that it moves around with a purpose. The function of mapping is pretty on point, and when rearranging your layout it does recognize that there was a change. The back and forth vacuuming is nice and a better update than it’s predecessor. It’s pretty quiet, but if you are working from home it could be a bit distracting. I have a dog that sheds his fur on the daily. It does a really good job at picking up all of it. Remember to clean the wheels and take the excess hair from the rollers often. It’ll help with suction and overall performance.

I upgraded from a Roomba 980, and it's an enormous upgrade in efficiency due to the software and hardware improvements (beside the obvious difference of having a near autonomous vacuuming solution with the clean base - more on that in a minute). With the upgraded mapping system and routine, it puts the previous flagship model to shame. The 980 wasn't bad, but it didn't save your room layout like the I7, and had to map out everything each and every single cleaning run . The mapping upgrades add a whole new level of customization to your schedules as well. After it completes 3 to 5 cleaning runs, it'll save a full map of your floor(s) and allow you to break it down into individual rooms. Have it run through the house fully in the morning and again in the afternoon in high traffic areas like the living room, or only certain rooms on certain days. The new base unit adds to its cleaning power by allowing the robot to empty itself and keep cleaning, and only needs you to intervene when a new bag is needed. Since I work 70 hours a week I'm rarely home, but with the clean base I can set my schedule and forget about it until it needs a bag. I have two dogs that shed quite a bit, which the i7 easily handles, but the bags for the base can't hold more than a week's worth of dog hair. $5 a bag adds up quick when you change it that often. That's my only issue with the unit, however I did receive an I7 with a firmware issue. It couldn't be patched until the middle to end of October is what iRobot told me when I called. The great team at iRobot quickly fixed this issue though, and they shipped me a brand new unit at no cost with no fuss. They did this for me despite the update coming within two weeks, which shows they stand behind their products and want everyone satisfied with their purchase. Other than that, the only real hang ups have been with the base unit not reading the inserted collection bag unless I take it out and put it in again. But that has only occurred twice, and since my new unit came in and updated fully this hasn't happened again. Bottom line : if you're like me and work all the time and WANT an autonomous solution with your robotic vacuum, the I7+ is the way to go hands down. If you have pets, you'll probably be better with the standard I7, unless you don't mind the reoccurring bag purchases. Highly recommended if you want the best robotic vacuuming solution out today!

    Give it a chance!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My key takeaway for this machine is: Give it a chance to prove itself, especially if you have animals. I almost did not, and it would have been a huge mistake. You're house is dirtier than you think, and the initial few cleanings will gunk up all the on-board sensors. I got mine home and turned it loose. Everything worked great for the first hour or so, then the problems started. It started running itself back to the base to empty, then when it got there, it wouldn't leave the base. It kept telling me to empty the bin. I'd pop the bin open, nothing there, I'd close the bin, and it would leave. It does this for a little while and then it gets even worse, it won't dock properly (gets up on the base and keeps driving forward), then won't empty itself, and wont leave the base (because it doesn't know its on the base and still thinks the bin is full). I get ready to box it up and take it back because honestly after spending $1,000 on a vacuum cleaner, this thing was on a pretty short leash. I settled down and remembered it worked perfectly the first hour while it be-bopped around my hardwood floors. Then it got to the carpeted rooms, under the beds, couches etc. and started having problems. It turns out there are A LOT of sensors on board this guy, including full bin sensors, a camera to help it orient itself within a space, and sensors that help it find its way precisely to the charging dock. When the bot sets out on its initial journey, it reaches a lot of places that you may not normally clean, so they start kicking up all kinds of dust, dirt, pet dander and hair. These cameras, sensors and whatnot don't work when they're covered with dust. Now that I know these sensors exist, I can clean them. I took it outside and get it all cleaned out (I used a can of compressed air for electronics), and what do you know, it's back to working like a champ. Now, I've had to clean the internals out a couple more times since then, but they've gotten far less frequent, and the bot is working more and more perfectly as time goes on. I look under the beds now and they are nice and clean, as well as under all the couches. This makes sense, because the bot is picking up all this dirt and removing it from the environment, so the next time it goes to clean, it's cleaner than the time before which means there's less junk to gunk up/obstruct the sensors.

I had a older model Roomba that I wanted to replace and move that one to our lower level. To save money I opted for a different brand. Bad choice. This Roomba is quieter than my 600 series model but the cleaning is where she really shines. And I love that it goes in straight lines instead of random shots. It empties on its own which is magical. Battery life is definitely lacking however it just finishes on its own when charged. It literally made a map of my house after about 5 full cleanings. I can direct it where I want or schedule days at certain times. It’s honestly my favorite purchase. Very well worth the money

Love this product, upgraded from one of the original iRobots which we had more many years. Rosey (our name for this Roomba) does a great job. We have golden lab that sheds constantly and three cats. This Roomba does not struggle because it can empty itself. A nice feature is it can get itself unstuck in many cases (from a rug) unlike the older models. Sad I waited so long to upgrade. Alfred (name for the older Roomba) is not retired, still going strong and will be going to college with our youngest to help keep their apartment vacuumed.

The item was refurbished when purchased. No noticeable issues and it works great on hardwood and carpet. The only problem is when going from one type of flooring to the other, the vacuum will often get an error saying the brushes are obstructed. It's an easy fix if you just move the vacuum over a bit. It maps out the floorplan almost perfectly, I was very impressed with this. Happy with the purchase so far.

Was skeptical of using a roomba since we have a dog, however the roomba proved to be a great investment. We have it scheduled to run every other day and it cleans up the entire floor with little or no dog hair on the floor. Note that we have tiled floor with rugs in different areas. The troubleshooting on the app is very easy as well. Highly recommend roomba, especially if you have a pet. You can set a schedule and let it do it's thing. The dog was scared at first, but eventually got used to it and is unfazed.

I love my Roomba. I have cats and found myself sweeping my floors multiple times a day. I don’t have to do that anymore thanks to my roomba. I can schedule it to do its magic while I’m away from home so I can come home without stepping and crunching litter around my house. It is quite loud though and even louder when it empties itself out. But besides that, it is one of the best purchases I made this year.

I can't believe I haven't bought one of these sooner. I have 2 dogs and a cat. The fuzz and hairballs rolling across the floor are insane. Everyday I have to sweep or vacuum. I was very impressed with how easy it was to set up and the nooks and crannies it was able to get to...under the couch, around the corners and if a chair is out of place it figures it out and cleans around it. Amazing. I'm pretty happy. Best of all I don't have to deal with the vacuum anymore!
