The roomba works good, but has some hang ups? It is slow, has trouble docking itself, and does not dump dirt and rug fuzzy.

Love this! This little vacuum finds dirt and dust in hidden spaces. It really has made my life easier.

Impressed how it knows the dirtier spots and does those first. Cleans wood look floors and cleans and fluffs wall to wall carpet.

We had a robot before which lasted many years. This new one has a larger holding capacity and cleans more thoroughly.

I purchased this J7 based on the reviews over the S9. I have hardwood floors and area rugs. Compared to my Neato D7, which is being repaired, and the ONLY reason why I bought this Roomba, cleans so much better than the J7. The J7 has NO VACUUM!!! It is basically a sweeper. There is NEVER any dust in my bin...just particles it sweeps up!! There is no exhaust for the "vacuum". As we all know in physics, if air goes in, it must come out! There is no air port and NO feeling of air around the vacuum! I AM totally disappointed in this sweeper!! I'm giving it one star because it manages to find it's way between my dining room chairs. I have customer service on the phone right now...have been on hold for 15 minutes already...so this is not a good sign. Recording said my estimated wait time is "more than 30 minutes." So, DON'T BUY THIS VACUUM...ER SWEEPER!

I gave this Roomba as a gift and the person I gave it to said he loves it. He has 2 large dogs and it does a fantastic job of picking up hair.

We’ve only used it a couple times on our new hardwoods and wow. This roomba picked up everything, plus rolled easily onto small rugs as well.

Best robot vacuum I've ever used, but if you'll catch it on sale I would go with the self emptying model (7550)

First one had issues with charging station. I got it replaced and new one has been working properly

I can’t believe how great this vacuum is. It has gone way beyond my expectations. On top of it great cleaning job, it is a genius.

This is my third robot vacuum (first Roomba/iRobot brand) and this is by far the best one that I've used so far. What sets this unit apart from others that I've used is it's smart room mapping which provides the ability to clean specific rooms. The smart room mapping scanned my house twice; this can either be done during cleaning, or you can tell Roomba to do a mapping run where it will just drive around without running the vacuum to learn your house. Once the scanning has been completed, the app gives you the ability to easily define room boundaries and name each room. With that integration completed, you can easily tell Roomba to clean a specific room or setup a schedule to do so. This also means that you can have it clean rooms in a user-defined order (Kitchen, then hallway, then family room, etc). This also integrates well with my Alexa assistants giving me the ability to ask Alexa to clean the Kitchen (or any other room) or to simply clean everywhere. Sadly, there is no HomeKit support which is likely more because of Apple than iRobot, so it's hard to fault them there. Another key feature is Roomba's ability to recognize obstacles. It does this by taking a picture of the suspected obstacle and, after the job completes, the app prompts you to review any found issues. If a fixed obstacle exists, you can easily define an exclusion zone so that Roomba doesn't try to go there again (think power cords, phone charges, etc). Or, if there is no obstacle, you can tell Roomba so and even run a "tidy up" job afterwards. The vacuum cleans better than the last two units I've used, especially my most recent one. I've often wondered why Roomba doesn't include two spinning brushes instead of only one, but it seems to work fine for these vacuums with their mapping/cleaning algorithms. This vacuum is also quieter than my previous one which makes running it in the middle of the night better for not disturbing the sleeping wifey. Overall, I'm very happy with this vacuum and am glad to see this market continue to improve. While you shouldn't expect a robot vacuum to completely replace this "chore" it does help prolong the need to do a deep clean.
