This little machine helps so much, it has made a huge difference in my home. I have 4 australian shepherds and they shed a lot. The difference on the floor now that i have the Roomba is like night and day. It has excellent ledge protection and great suction.

It dose a pretty great job at cleaning most of the time. That being said some sensors broke after 8 months and fortunately i had it under warranty. I bought it on a huge sale for black Friday. I wouldn't pay full price

Very reliable! We have a household with 3 teens and 3 dogs and this robot vacuum keeps up! The only thing I would recommend is that is you have a large household to spend the extra money on the dock that empties it for you. No complaints here, over a year later and ours is still going strong.

We. Bought this vacuum to replace another brand. That did not work for us. This one was vastly superior.. It creates a map of your house that is very helpful to keep track of what has been done. You can also separate portions. Of the house. To. Give more attention to areas with a greater need. The only thing we still wanted was not to have to constantly empty the canister with its dusty mess. So we returned it and bought the same vac, but the version with the home base that vacuums it out as needed. That way you only have to remove and replace a bag with the debris every month or two.

I was a little skeptical at first, but after watching it vacuum for a week or so I can’t believe I didn’t buy one years ago. Now I will say it is quieter than I expected it to be because other people who have older models said is was loud. No this one, its very quiet.

had to replace the spinning head and also had to call to get it swapped out, seems to be fragile and it also bumps into the walls leaving little black marks on the white paint.

I had previously been skeptical about the purchase of a robotic vacuum until now. I recently purchased on sale based on positive reviews and recommendations from a friend . I am currently using to clean a mix of tile floors and area rugs. Overall the vacuum does a good job cleaning both. However, it does remove a significant amount of material fibers from the area rug. This fills the vacuum bin quickly and requires the vacuum to be emptied multiple times. Otherwise, the product does a good job cleaning and is more convenient than a non-robotic unit.

Id say this is more of a useful tool for upkeeping already cleaned homes. Keeps floors clean and carpets maintained. Id still buy a vacuum for the carpets to get a deeper clean than this can provide

Excellent vacuum. It won’t take the place of your vacuum completely but it does cut down on day to day dust, lint and dog hair. I have two golden receivers and this handles their hair no problem. It does get stuck on rollers but that takes ten seconds to clean. Long hair gets stuck in any vacuum This vacuum has a light and a camera that shows by what blocked its path. I actually cleaned under my bed because its SO NICE to get rid of the dust and dirt under the bed without having to pick up your mattress. Very happy

Still gets stuck transitioning from throw-rugs to floor too often, like previous generation Roombas. But does a great job vacuuming otherwise.

I like that this can map rooms. Makes it easier to vacuum different parts of the house when needed. Doesn’t always vacuum the correct rooms though.

This is my 4th robot vacuum over the past six years… Finally, one that actually understands where it’s cleaning. It did a great job mapping my house and it cleans methodically in rows, so it doesn’t miss a lot of dirt/etc. it also has successfully avoided running over various pet-related accidents — the sensors are very sensitive about seeing “obstacles” which I appreciate. I also love that you can just ask it to clean one specific area/room. I would give it 4.5 stars out of 5 so far.

Best robot vacuum I’ve ever had. I bought the 690 version years ago and loved it. But it had zero intelligence. It would just go and bump into things endlessly until it finished the house. This model has a camera, a light and cleans in lines, it remembers furniture and alerts you to obstacles it encountered during is cleaning. We even have a shag area rug that it cleans without getting stuck. I was am so impressed with then technology and it cleans Better then if you walked around with your upright vacuum. My best purchase of the year !

This vacuum avoided obstacles, but it didn't do a good job cleaning my floors.
I loved the brushes because they do not get dog hair wrapped around them like my other less expensive robo vac does. However, sometimes it would leave clumps of dog hair on the throw rugs when it went from the hard floor to the rug.
When it backed up from dock it dumped dirt on the flood and it would never vacuum it up. This irritated me very much.
I have a less expensive robot vacuum I use down stairs, it does not have the fancy features the j7 has but it can clean the floor much better.
I bought this j7 for the upstairs part of the house. I thought the j7 would be better than the cheaper one because it was so much more expensive. I was also excited about the obstacle avoidance feature. I have to say the obstacle avoidance was very impressive, that's why I rated it 3 stars and not 1. I found out that more expensive and more bells and whistles does not guarantee cleaner floors.
The less expensive vacuum does a random pattern, and does not map my house, or avoid obstacles, but it goes until the battery tells it to go home. As a result it vacuums for a longer period of time and the floors get very clean.
I bout the j7 without the dock, you have to clean it out much more often the my less expensive robo vac.
I ended up returning this vacuum and getting another one like the one that I already have.

I didn't know what to expect from my new iRobot j7, but it really beat my expectations. Just a slight learning curve. This thing is amazing. It really does a good job and reaches places I normally don't or can't like under beds and shelves. So smart too. It has mapped all three floors of my house and using the app, it is scheduled to clean my main floor every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6 AM before I get up. I just carry it to the other floors as necessary and send it on it's way. It's mesmerizing. It's like the Jetson's!

I purchased two of these about 18 months ago, one for upstairs, one for downstairs, intrigued by the ability to go back and forth in rows after mapping rooms. It took a long time to map the house, and the Roomba j7 seems to take a long time to figure out room to room cleaning where you've partitioned in open space into two or three areas with flooring transitions. It had really aggressive rubber rollers as bristles that ripped up the edges of our large living room area rug, so we setup an "avoid" area on the map and do the rug with a manual vacuum cleaner. It also has problem flipping up lighter washable vinyl backed area rugs so we have to pick those up before running a cleaning. Pulling out the bin when it's half full or more to empty it always leaves a mess, so it's an obligation to bring a handheld vac to clean up the mess from the robot vac bin.
Honestly, I'm not sure that's really saving us any time since we can't just let it run and cope with the house as it is. It's largest benefit is as a threat to our children to pick up their mess otherwise the ambivalent robovac will suck up their toys and other things left on the floor.

You have to dedicate time to set this up and to map the house. When this process is done, it works perfectly
