My car doesn't have Bluetooth or an aux port. So this was the only alternative other than getting a new stereo put in. Set up is easy. Chargers my phone while playing music. For me it works good enough. Even though there can be some static here and there when playing music. I just needed this for a long road trip and it was worth the price I paid for it.

The product itself is nice and well constructed. I like the fact that it charges your Ipod while playing it but I had trouble maintaining clarity on a specific channel. I am pretty sure it is the local stations absorbing all the available channels but I had to keep changing to maintain clarity. Overall worth the money.

This item works just as it says it does... It broadcasts from your phone to your radio via an FM signal. If you don't have a direct USB plug into your car radio or BlueTooth, this is probably the best way to hear your phone, be it a podcast or Pandora or whatever.
It is not a very strong broadcaster, but it's right next to your radio, so that isn't much of a problem. But a problem I do have is, because of the explosion of FM stations, it is very difficult to find an open frequency. And I guess this is my complaint: Why does this transmitter only go down to 88.1 when my radio goes into the 87 frequencies? And let me tell you, all of those 87 frequencies are pretty open. This would be a perfect 5/5 if you could tune into those lower frequencies. Don't look at this as a negative review, it still works great. I ust wish it were a little more flexible on the tuning.

This transmitter works well at times but then loses signal and gets a lot of static. But it is good for charging your ipod devices while you listen to your music. Overall, find it at a decent price.

I like the fact that you can charge and play at the same time. It's easy to use and I can stow it away in the glove compartment when I need to.

I bought this product because I as looking for something that would charge my ipod touch in addition to playing it over the radio. My work truck is a very basic model and doesn't have any type of axillary ports to plug my ipod into. I could have bought the basic model that just had the FM transmitter, but I knew I would use this product quite a bit, so I might as well get a product that charges as well! I have a first generation Ipod touch, so the program that comes with this item cannot be used due to my processing system. Because of this I consistently have to change the radio station to receive a good signal as I drive all over the state.

I bought this on a whim because my Aux port on my car broke. I picked this up and noticed it charges AND plays music through my radio. I love it. Sometimes I hear a bit of static but most of the time I forget it's being transmitted through the radio. I love that you can skip, pause, and play my iPod through the transmitter. My skip button is wonky on my iPod so this makes it smooth to control these function instead on the iTrip. I got it on clearance and it was worth every penny.

The product is great, easy to use and you can charge you phone while playing music, all in one cord. It's only hard to find a station that will playback your music good. Griffin has a guide somewhere online for a per-location basis of the "best" radio stations to use for the area. It sort of helped.

If you have no bluetooth and no aux to plug in your ipod or phone in the car, this can let you listen to your music but you get alot of static and every time you get out of range, you have to change the station!

When I think "FM transmitter", I'm reminded of the old days when CD changers didn't always have a direct connection to the stereo. I don't remember any of them having the signal interference problems that this thing has.
This transmitter has a free app for your smartphone that will use your current location to attempt to find the strongest signal for your to tune your transmitter, and can even do it for you. (You still have to change stations on your radio.) I'm not sure where they get their information, but I found it easier to just scan the dial for dead air and tune the transmitter accordingly. (Mostly because it kept telling me I was in a different city than I was actually in.)
As far as the quality I experienced while listening to music, I guess it would be about the same as trying to listen to the radio--static, random interference from other sources, etc. I've had seemingly dead-air stations that it just wouldn't play on, I've had stations randomly start playing music over top of mine, and a few other weird things, but most of the time it works as well as you'd expect something without a direct connection to work.
It's a decent choice if you don't have a way to connect directly to your factory system, but it left me wishing for more.

This is the second one of these I've owned. The first ones wires became exposed after less than a year. Best Buy refunded my money. I had to get this second one because it isn't breaking after one day like others I have tried. But this one seems to be the same as my first in regards to sound quality (wires aren't exposed yet on this one)
It is hard to find a clear channel. There is always static in the background.
Other people's FM transmitters in cars near me have a stronger signal and I end up hearing their music instead of mine (wish I knew what transmitter they were using).
For some reason, the volume will lower itself slightly no matter if the song is a loud song or a softer song. I've read that is common with transmitters so they don't damage hearing, but I don't recall reading that safeguard on the packaging. And it lowers the volume even if the song is soft and the volume is already down. Really frustrating when you're getting into a song and it quiets itself.
Only reason it's getting 2 stars and not 1 is because I can't really find any other similar priced transmitters that aren't from some sketchy internet company. At least Best Buy will keep replacing them if they break or suck.

Bought this receiver since my car does not have a plug in for my iPod. It works just fine but the sound is kind of tinny. Real fm stations sound better, but at least I can listen to my playlist now! Cheaper then buying a new car!

I have used Belkin FM transmitters for my iPod classic in the past, and found them too delicate and fragile. After having to replace my third Belkin transmitter and finding this one from Griffin, I decided to give it try. It works great, but it doesn't display the song titles and artists accurately on my radio screen. Maybe it's because I use it in my 2004 Chevy Blazer, or the fact that the 32 pin connector doesn't seat flush when inserted into my iPod. Nevertheless, the sound is great!

If your car does not have bluetooth, this does a good (not great, but good) job of allowing content from your iPhone to be broadcast through the car stereo system. The biggest complaint is when driving long distances, you have to repeatedly search for frequencies where no radio stations interfere. I found you may get 15-30 mins before you need to locate a new 'empty' frequency. This can be a distraction when driving.
I only recommend to a friend needing a low-cost option which is better than nothing

My wife and I used this product on a 1,000-mile trip. Could rarely get a signal lock-on. The signal kept drifting and our audiobook listening was frequently marred by radio interference. We were constantly changing frequencies to get decent sound, but the quality did not last long before the interference returned and we had to change frequencies again. We returned the item to Best Buy at the end of our trip.
