My car has only a CD player/radio, but I wanted to play music from my Samsung Galaxy S5 from my car's speakers. I bought this in store and have been using this for a couple of months. It is easy to use and has a USB port so I can charge my phone while I listen. It works well when I can find a good free frequency. The interference from other radio stations in the area is a problem. I live in a very populous city with tons of radio stations, so I have trouble finding a free radio frequency with no interference while I drive in different areas of town.

overall it's a good prouduct. it's a temporary get around until you have a iPod player installed in your car. the overall sound quality is poor until you find that perfect station which could take awhile. although it might just be my car also. Not sure. I mainly use it to charge my phone.

Need something easy for hands free other than a clip in my ear. This fit the bill nicely. It was easy to set up. Just some of the channels can have some static in them you may have to search for an alternate channel. Other than that it works great.

Simply put i spent 50 bucks on this item, only because best buy was sold out of others. Well i thought, its pricey so it should be high quality, well its not. Its strength goes in and out. Its very quiet, meaning i must turn up my radio almost maxed to even hear it. Id return it but its too late for that i believe.
It serves its purpose as broadcasting my phones music to my car, but its low quality, expensive, and not that reliable... Also, its smart scan feature.... No idea what thats good for as it will smart scan to used fm stations..... Id return it if i could... If best buy will allow it, please contact me, i dont have the packaging though.

not that bad but u have to flip thru a lot of channels to get good reception..and if u turn it up too loud its staticy, no matter how clear the channel is, but it does work because I was skeptical, but its not worth $50!!

iTrip Auto Mobile FM Transmitter - Just "so-so"

Bought this transmitter to replace my Belkin one that I destroyed by pulling it out from under the seat by the wire...(not smart)... None of them available in the stores still have the iPod 30 pin connector, so I got this one that plugs into the headphone jack for audio and use the original 30 pin/USB cable to charge it in the transmitters USB port...now needing two wires to do the job of the old single wire transmitter. It works pretty well in my Porsche (a $100K car with no USB/aux jack, go figure)...but doesn't work well at all in the BMW M Roadster due to static noise. (I'm going to Best Buy to purchase a new radio with iPod connectivity for the bimmer.) Recommend if all else fails.

my husbands work truck has a stock radio, no auxiliary outlets or CD player and the radio signal is bad, all his stations come in staticy. So I got him this transmitter and it works great. He can plug it into his cigarette lighter and play music from his phone while he drives. It's also really nice that it gives you an extra USB port so you can charge your phone while using it. Usually he signal is great but when you get into a remote area it can drop, just like the radio signal drops.

This is great for the vehicles without an Auxiliary input,so far as long as you want music. And the USB import makes a have a +1 for needing to charge on the go. But the downsides are:
1) You have to keep your device thats plugged in LITERALLY on the Transmitter, so static can be less of an issue.
2) It reduces your audio quality so you have to turn up your radio to hear better.
3) Does not really find an automatically good station, you manually have to search for empty channels then set your transmitter to that station.
Again, This is my experience with this product. Maybe it works better for others but its okay for me. Hope you find this useful.

This is the third Itrip FM transmitter I purchase (this time as a gift for my boyfriend) I love the quality, doesn't produce as much static as other transmitters I've purchased in the past and I like that I can control the volume using my device as well as the car stereo. The only drawback is that it is a little pricey, which is the reason why I've purchased other brands before but the quality didn't compare.

For the price I should have just bought a new stereo system but if you need it for multiple vehicles it works good.

Transmitter could be a touch more powerful

The transmitter is a bit on the weak side. I end up having to loop the cord up and over my rearview mirror, placing the transmitter part closer to the antenna (on the center of my roof just above the windshield). Now, I could be talking out my rear on this, but there is a noticeable difference. Where I live I can't find three bandwidths in a row with nothing transmitting, so at best I can find two next to each other, but there's always inevitable bleed from stations close on the dial. I had a cheap FM transmitter that I got from Five Below that was more powerful and could override the bleed without a problem, but it had severely limited frequencies (none of which were really free). I was hoping that having this model, with its completely open selection of frequencies, would solve my problem. It really didn't, but it's serviceable until I can save up enough for a newer car that has a line-in jack and then I'll be able to do away with FM transmitters completely.

I had a cheap version of this before and decided to pay the extra bucks to see if I could solve the issue of not having an auxiliary input, sadly I concluded that this was not worth the money. It does the job but costing three times more than the one I had, I don't see the benefit of getting this over a cheap version at the gas station.

Took some time trying to figure out how to use it, even with the vague instructions, but you can eventually figure it out. Like any other transmitter, there's static mostly always, specially when driving around. Sound might have felt cheap because of that but it's been okay. The charger light is cool.

It does work well. I replaced an earlier model which was designed for early iPhone/ipod. That one had an app which made changing FM stations easier to read. Griffin Technologies no longer supports the app. which is why I had to get a new one. The plus of this model is that it can be used by any device that has a headphone jack (i.e. Galaxy 5). It has a USB port (which you should use with a charger to your phone/device, because it does drain your battery otherwise). So bring your charger cord for long trips! I drive long distances and have to change the station a bit, so the built in read out is a little hard to read.

I bought this transmitter but I am not very happy with it. When you put your phone close to the radio it sounds distortion. Sometimes the radio channel fades while driving if it's close to a radio station. Would return it if I could.

Signal strength is terrible

This might not be their fault. For all I know the FCC says they can't make it any stronger. But the signal strength is poor enough that you had to fiddle with the positioning of the unit in your car to be able to hear it.
Worse, you need to turn the sound up on your car stereo before you can even hear it. And by the time you get it loud enough, you've amplified background static in the FM spectrum to such an extent that the sound quality is poor.
It is too bad. I'll probably have to buy a new stereo simply to get an Audio in jack.

Sounded horribly scratchy, couldn't hear it unless both the stereo and the device were cranked up to max volume (which just made the scratchy part worse!), and had to change stations every time we came near a new town. The only thing nice about it was the extra USB port. As I told the guy when I returned it, if I had spent $5 on it, I would have kept it - that is what it is worth. But being that it was almost 10 times that, I wanted my money back, and got it.

This is the 2nd type of iTrip I've owned and this one is definitely better than the previous one I owned. It also helps that this one has the USB on it so that a charger can be used without another power outlet in the car. Sometimes it is hard to tune into a station that works well without static, but I knew that going in. If I wanted to avoid this, I would've spent the $150-$200 having an auxiliary installed in my car at BestBuy. Overall it works as expected.
