Great for Music Producers

Not only is it usb 3 but I ran out of usb ports in my laptop and need more space to connect my midi keyboard, exernal hard drive, ilok for protools and much more. So I bought this product and it did juctice to my set up. DOes not need to be plugged into the AC to work but comes with it just in case,

There is no lag time in mouse commands, multiple printers are routed thru and there are no issues. *I tried a cheap auction multi usb unit and the thru-put slowed my computer back to an IBM PC Jr. The J5 Create is a solid buy; and yes, it's a few buck more than an auction unit, but you will not have any issues with this unit.

Seems to work just fine for what I need without plugging it in to ac power. Also it has a longer cable than some other hubs to connect to the computer’s USB port, so that eliminates my needing to purchase a USB extension cable.

It saves me the effort and inconvenience of shuffling devices. Additionally the power addapter allows me to have multiple USB powered devices hooked up such as HDDs without overtaxing my laptops USB port. All in all a good product that I would recommend.
