Customers are saying

Customers highly value the additional USB ports, ease of use, and compact size of the USB 3.0 4-Port Mini Hub. Many appreciate its ability to provide sufficient power and its compatibility with various devices. However, some users find the cable length to be too short and have experienced issues with charging multiple devices simultaneously. A few also noted that the hub can get warm during use.

First of all, this is a very versatile product. Great product design, minimal and aluminum. Feels solid and love the layout of the connections. I do wish the cord that came with it was just a little longer. Other than that, it does great as a "HUB" for my USB devices. I did have a problem with my first one that lasted me just under a month. I was really shocked that it failed but was able to swap it out and am back on the go. Otherwise I would have given this product a 5 star ratting.

Easy to install USB3. Port for charging does not charge a FitBit, but otherwise it works as advertised. Can't beat that.

I bought the j5 USB 3 hub for my laptop a while ago and have been thoroughly pleased with it. I've not had need for the additional power supply despite having a lighted keyboard and mouse connected through it. I love the sturdy construction j5 uses and have bought two additional USB 3 hubs for other computers in the house as well as an Ethernet adapter they make. Brilliant hardware.

I'm reviewing this unit after having purchased and installed it about a week ago. In that the nature of this item is basically works/doesn't work, I feel I'm not jumping the gun on this one. I needed an expansion on my ultrabook (two 3.0 USB ports available) as my highly portable laptop has found itself fairly well wired in when on the desk at my home office. Four ports on this j5create hub is just enough for my needs; an external hard drive, a printer, and my cooling pad (still unsure about that one, but it makes me feel better knowing I'm at least trying to keep my HP cool). The only device that didn't work without freezing and skipping was the wireless mouse. But with a little research I've discovered that 2.0 mice don't always work well through a 3.0 hub. So back into the computer it went, which is where it should be anyway as the mouse goes where the computer goes. What I would pass on to potential USB port hub seekers is to assess what your needs are. This unit includes an optional A/C power cord which I do use for my needs. Non A/C powered hubs, those only running on your computers USB port, may be underpowered for certain demanding peripheral devices. Check the specs.

This is an excellent hub, compact and useful. Inclusion of power adaptor and 1.5-amp port a bonus. A bit pricy when not on sale, but well worth it when marked down. Like most hubs, would be nice to have a bit more space between ports to accommodate fatter cables and flash sticks.

I have very little space on my desktop where my laptops sets. I also had only a few USB connections. The j5create has come to rescue me and is incredibly small for having 4 USB connections. It is powered by the connection to the laptop through the USB. One of the USB ports even can charge your phone or those peripherals that need a little extra power. Included is a power plug that goes into the USB Hub if the USB power is not enough. In this way, you can charge and use the USB Hub for a USB connection to a printer, controller, or other USB device. The size is smaller than a Roku controller, which is pretty small to began with. Very happy with the product and all its uses.

I needed a USB 3 solution to switch between a Windows desktop and a Macbook Pro. My mechanical keyboard requires USB 3. I unplug one computer from the hub and then plug the other in to switch. I used to have a KVM switch, but it does not handle Thunderbolt and DVI connections or even USB 3 keyboards. This low tech solution has been working well for months now.

I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 4. It has ONE, and only one, USB 3.0 port. This means that if you want to use a USB-powered monitor (and run a monitor from the MiniDisplay port), you lose the ability to use any other USB peripherals with the computer. This device solves that problem. I was able to run a USB-powered extension monitor and a USB Keyboard/mouse with this no problem.

This multi-port hub is plugged into one USB port on the back of my iMac computer. This hub is much more convenient for plugging in a digital camera and other devices than reaching into the back of my iMac to find a port that is hard to see. Furthermore, it avoids possible future damage to the iMac port. The j5create is sturdy and uses little space on my desk.

I use this mainly to back up my data to two external hard drives. Additionally, I load current data files on USB flash drives to carry when traveling. This is the 2nd one I purchased. The first one lasted 3 years and gave good service during that time. Had it lasted a bit longer, I probably would have rated it 5 stars.
