Dual monitors

Most laptop do not come with many ports these days. A docking station is almost a requirement to get the full functionality out of a laptop. We appreciate you taking the time for writing a review.

Had issues, likely because of software

I'm not sure if it was an issue with the software, or what. but I needed to download something, and it wasn't very intuitive at all. I spent a lot of time trying to get it to work ,but my MAC wasn't allowing it to be used, for some reason I still cannot explain. With MACs, if you are using a non-Apple product (or not recommended by Apple), it seems best to just concede and get whatever Apply recommends. I don't think it's the device's fault. But, it is an issue if I can't use it because the software isn't compatible or intuitive in use. It already takes so much time to get these converting products, that I can't deal with another setback or time-consuming situation. The company does get back to you and is responsive, but it's just more time being dedicated to something that may or may not work. Regarding the quality, this is a sturdy piece and has several ports. It just wouldn't function with my newest MacBook Pro without further, further assistance.

The JCD381 requires drivers to be installed for it to work. However our drivers are not compatible with the newest MacOS Big Sur. We are currently working on developing drivers that will be compatible with Big Sur so our devices will function properly. Your patience is appreciated.

Versatile and fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When looking for a docking station for my Lenovo Yoga 720 there weren't many good options based on my needs. I wanted high resolution video, high speed USB and high speed networking. This docking station has all three and has proven to be very reliable and consistent (especially the NIC at 1Gb). Concurrently copying large files through USB and the NIC really illustrates the speed all while not interfering with video output or the external mouse connected. The concurrent performance is why I gave this item 5 stars.

Was hoping for more

I purchased it to go with my new Lenovo Yoga 6 laptop. Initially everything seemed to work ok, but then after the monitors went to sleep then only one would come back on. After some troubleshooting it was determined that the unit was at fault. It also got pretty hot for a docking station and the build quality felt cheap.

Posted .HardwireCS, thank you for the feedback on the JCD381. It is normal for the hub to become slightly warm due to electricity running through it while in use; in the case where it is getting too hot to where it is harming you, we suggest contacting support for an exchange. In the case where the monitors are going to sleep, there are settings to be adjusted and regret to request a second opportunity to troubleshoot and see if we can resolve the problem.
