Great for the person who works out of a laptop bag

It is almost too mobile in the sense that it will slide all over your desk since it is only about 5 oz. My home workspace does not move that often so I ended up giving this to a co worker and buying myself the Plugable USB tower which I do like.

I believe that I understand what you are saying about the JCD381. I think that the JCD543 may have been a better dock for you. It is more stable and has more functionality, but it still has a slim profile design so it is easy to take with you.

It’s great to have extra monitors with your laptop. Having the extra USB ports will let you connect your peripherals to the dock so you only have to unplug one cable to pick up your laptop and go. Hope that you have a great day.

DOA... returns things to best buy its always easy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.purchased today may 29th 2022... the device was about $100 and it looks well made its stated that BEFORE connecting the docking station I have to download and install the Win driver... it does not say that its is Win-11 compatible but I figure that win 10 driver would make it work. I either got a death on arrival part of the driver it is not Win11 compatible. went back to best buy and got my money returned. downloading the driver was very straight forward but the web site is annoyingly design to try to get information from customers and to sell so something else...

It didn't recognize the monitor. Get Squad attempted two times. They said installing is finicky but when it's going it's golden. However it didn't work, so I did a trade for the Mac dongle that doesn't need software. The new one just works.

The associated software is... not great

USB hub functionality is fine. Video and network are not terribly convenient (at least on an M1 macbook)

Does exactly what we needed it to do

This does exactly that, also helps that extra peripherals can be plugged in. Such as a full keyboard and mouse. No issues with it so far.
