Horrible. Lasted only 3 months!

Waste of $100.00 which in this day and age I cannot afford to have lost! I bought this with my new laptop because my new laptop didn't have enough portals. Specifically I needed to be able to have an HDMI connection to my separate large screen monitor. I've noticed the docking station to be a bit too warm for my desire. Now the HDMI connection on this docking station has gone bad in less than 3 months of use!! I know to be a fact because I connected my big screen monitor to the HDMI connection on my older computer and the big screen monitor works fine.

Posted .Hello, the JCD381 is bus powered by the computer and when connected it will provide the user with up to two additional HDMI monitors; one up to 4k and the other up to 2k resolutions. If you are experiencing delayed performance, I highly recommend contacting the support team on the packaging for troubleshooting the issue.

Overheats

So I returned it for a proper docking station with USB-C power input and pass through.

Needed accessory

Docking station for dual monitors

Microsoft picks up the install software eliminating need for exterior download driver.

Other port do work which I was able to get buy

Driver Beware

Everything is fine, then the mouse will freeze and jump around. I am 95% certain it is a driver issue because the Windows Driver Foundation task becomes the biggest user of CPU and GPU. WDF shouldn't be using 10-20% of the CPU and up to 25% of the GPU. This occurs on both my work (Dell/Windows 10) and personal (Samsung/Windows 11) laptops, both of which have all the most current drivers and updates. Unfortunately, I didn't figure this out until it was outside of the return window.

So far, I have no complaints. The Ethernet port supports Gig connections and the product supports multiple monitors for dual screen set ups.

Misleading

I was unable to use for my work computer which I switch between that and my personal laptop. Was not worth it. Just got an HDMI plug instead.

Posted .Proper functionality entails downloading and installing a driver on a Windows or Mac platform. If you have a work computer, you will have to contact your IT department in order to see if they will allow you to install the software. Depending on the OS you have, different instructions apply.
