Downloaded software didn’t work.

Purchased to create two monitors (different images) to on M1 Airbooks. Downloaded software, didn’t work. Asked my cybersecurity trained son, still didn’t work. I’m guessing the issue is that Apple changed it’s OS faster than the company updated it’s software…?

Great for laptop bag

Posted .Kishore, I'm sorry to hear the JCD381 is not working with your Mac. In order to determine compatibility and the root of the issue, I recommend contacting the support team printed on the casing to speak with a rep. An agent will be able to diagnose, troubleshoot and offer a working solution.

Don’t buy if you have a newer Mac

This is a known issue (as show on their website) but currently no fix. It’s useless for newer Mac owners.

You need a driver

Setup was not straightforward either. When using on Mac, you have to disable security features as the driver makes the Mac think the screen is being recorded, which also disables Notification Center and unlock with Apple watch. Spend a little more and get a docking station that’s plug and play.

Terrible device!

The performance of this hub is terrible. It has horrible screen tearing even when just scrolling text within a document or web page. There is no way to change the refresh rate of the device to fix it. This device isn’t a standard USB docking station either. With all the other ones I’ve used, I just plug them in and they work. With this one you have to download an application/driver and then give screen sharing permission to the app, which makes me nervous since this can be a security hole, i.e, how do I know that this screen share data isn’t being sent somewhere else. On top of that, the Ethernet connector isn’t showing up as a network device either and doesn’t work when plugged into a network and the USB-C power connection is loose and the cable keeps falling out. I contacted their email support about all this but never got a response. Stay away from this product!

If this device gets hot enough to burn you there may be a defect. I would suggest immediately discontinuing use and return it to the retailer where you purchased it. This docking station like all electrical devices will generate some amount of heat. The aluminum construction of this device will radiate more heat than a device with a plastic outer shell. This will cause the device to be warmer than you expect, but should not get hot enough to cause injury or damage. We really appreciate your feedback.

Not what i wanted
