Docking station for dual monitors

Microsoft picks up the install software eliminating need for exterior download driver.

Everything is fine, then the mouse will freeze and jump around. I am 95% certain it is a driver issue because the Windows Driver Foundation task becomes the biggest user of CPU and GPU. WDF shouldn't be using 10-20% of the CPU and up to 25% of the GPU. This occurs on both my work (Dell/Windows 10) and personal (Samsung/Windows 11) laptops, both of which have all the most current drivers and updates. Unfortunately, I didn't figure this out until it was outside of the return window.

Other port do work which I was able to get buy

I was unable to use for my work computer which I switch between that and my personal laptop. Was not worth it. Just got an HDMI plug instead.

If you have a work computer, you will have to contact your IT department in order to see if they will allow you to install the software. Depending on the OS you have, different instructions apply. So far, I have no complaints. The Ethernet port supports Gig connections and the product supports multiple monitors for dual screen set ups.

I have a modern laptop, I bought this to use as a docking station to support exactly what it was advertised to support. (eithernet, two monitors, keyboard & mouse). This docking station was overwhelmed with even one monitor. The refersh rate was far to slow for even office use. (I wanted to be able to game on it.) I ended up returning this.

From Awesome to Broken
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I initially got the dock it worked great with two HDMI monitors with my Dell XPS 13 laptop. Then I unplugged my laptop from the dock and I could only get the monitors to work intermittently, now it doesn't display to the HDMI monitors at all. The USB connections still work, just not the HDMI. I contacted j5create directly and so far they've been unable to resolve my issue after 30 days. They have poor customer support. My only hope is that they will issue me a replacement.

It allow me to connect my new laptop to 2 Monitors for a reasonable amount of money. The only issue, which is a minor issue, is that the cable is a little bit too short.

Works OK... but

But the charger pass through does not function correctly (the charger is not recognized by my laptop). And the USBC cord s ridiculously short. I had to buy an extender to be able to reach my laptop.

Posted .FrMr, we are sorry to hear the JCD381 did not meet your expectations in regards to the host cable being too short and the pass through charging not working. Because there are limitations on some computers for charging via a docking station, you may need to charge your computer with the OEM directly instead of through a hub. For a longer host cable connection, we do have the JCD543 which offers a 1.5 ft host cable and if needed, we also have the JVAW53 for wireless extender ranging up to 200 ft in length. If interested in learning more about these other models, feel free to contact support mentioned on the packaging and a specialist will be ready to help.

Avoid for MacOS - HDCP does not work

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed on 2019 MacBook Pro 16" on latest version of macOS Catalina and point blank I would recommend anyone looking for Mac to purchase the CalDigit branded hub directly from Apple for a little bit more $. Pros: Powered two 1080p monitors. Neutral: Install wasn't plug and play, but simple enough with online instructions. Cons: Ethernet quit working after a month. USB throws power errors. Drivers reported as needing an update. HDCP content does not work and prevents other adapters/docks from displaying HDCP as well. Unplugging while in clamshell mode can lead to black screen on laptop requiring a hard reboot.
