Easy to setup. Documentation was clear and available online.

The good news about this adapter is that it enables use with a variety of devices including USB and HDMI for laptops that do not have enough USB slots or an HDMI slot. The bad news is that it heats up when using the HDMI cable even when nothing else it connected. Another disadvantage is the extremely short cable that limits placement of the laptop in certain situations.
Hey PublicSpeaker, In regards to the heating up, we can assure you this is normal since electricity is running through the hub. If it gets to the point where the hub is harming you, please reach out to support and seek an exchange under the manufacturer's two year warranty. Respectfully, j5create

A must have accessory for todays slim laptops that don't come with many ports. A device like this used to be optional, not anymore. This dongle provides what manufactures no longer do in the interest of cost and cutting size. I needed this for the rare instances that I need to hook up to a wired ethernet port as well as extras USB slots for peripherals. Good quality but a little expensive.
Thank you for your feedback. It's a nice device for your needed peripherals. Have a nice day!

Can run very (almost painfully) hot to the touch

Good: The USB ports appear to work. I am happy that it gives my laptop three extra USB ports.
Unknown: I did not attempt to use or verify that the Ethernet, video, or card reader ports work.
Bad: This jCreate device becomes unexpectedly hot to the touch (almost painfully hot) within an hour of being attached to an MSI gaming laptop with one USB device plugged into the jCreate. For a rough and unscientific comparison, the device becomes slightly warmer than room temperature after an hour attached to a Lenovo Yoga laptop when no devices are plugged into the jCreate, so YMMV. I am concerned that this device will eventually cause damage to itself through overheating and cause damage to something that is plugged into it or is touching the surface, such as the desk surface, or a mousepad, or a cable, or a piece of paper that might be resting on it. Perhaps the aluminum enclosure was chosen both for good looks but also designed to be a heat sink for the electronics within.
Hello, the JCD383 has an aluminum housing, this is meant to conduct heat away from the internal parts, it can get warn because of that. With the device connected with no attachment, the ports are still technically powered up. The body should never become to hot to handle. If you have any concerns, our contact is available through j5create website. Kindly, j5create,

I use this with my Apple Air. It does not have a card reader or internet port. This takes care of that problem. Plus it has one more USB-c and a few more USB ports. plus a HDMI Port. It does tend to get a bit warm when used to transfer files.

This is a great usb hub, it has basically everything you could want. Lots of USB ports, memory card reader, it even has display out on it. It is rather expensive so if you don’t need those things there are probably cheaper and better options for you. If you do need those things though this dongle is well worth it for a quality product.
With an aluminum casing adding USB's, HDMI, Ethernet and much more is great for setting up a nice workstation. Thank you for your review and have a great day.

Since the YOGA Laptop does not have a port for a ethernet connection, I bought this unit for several reasons - first it met my basic need to provide me with the ability to connect the hardwired internet cable, but also provided me with additonal USB slots including a USB C port, a Always On regular USB port as well as slots for SD cards.

This has been a great item to have especially with the MacBook Air with limited ports on it. It is very durable too. Bought them for my kids when they got their MacBook Air so that has been several years ago and they still are going strong. Will definitely give this a double thumbs up

Love the fact that it has a 1GB Ethernet port. Very easy to use and like the The Thunderbolt pass through port. I wished that it at least one more USB port and the cord was longer, say 1 foot total?

Amazing lil device. It does get quite hot when attached to my MacBook Pro. That would be the only thing I don’t like. As far as the variety of connections and small size, it is great! It is basically a full function dock for USB-c devices. Super portable and very attractive! Everything you need.
Super portable and attractive design for supporting various capabilities in one. We appreciate the input, Scubadad. In regards to the hot feel; rest assured this is normal due to electricity passing through. If the hub is harming you, please reach out to support printed on the casing and a specialist will be more than happy to exchange it under the manufacturer's two year warranty. Cordially, j5create

Needed some extra USB ports and an Ethernet port on a laptop. This work perfectly. Plugged into the USB-C port and had all the extra ports I needed without needed a power source. You can run power through this for you computer if you want. Ethernet and USB ports on the device all worked fine. Slim package and cheaper than others doing the same thing.
Hi Grimmace, I'm happy to hear that the Multi Adapter was a nice fit for you. Thank you for your review. Have a great day! j5create.

This worked great for copying my ssd video card to my new IMac M3. The extra ports will come in handy for my new setup. It seems warm to the touch but works great.

I bought a new Lenovo laptop that doesn’t have very many ports and I need to use an ethernet cable and have HDMI connectivity. This cute little thing was the perfect solution. The only thing that I am a little concerned about is that it gets very warm. It also scratches easily but I'm into functionality more so than aesthetics. Besides, the scratches aren't super noticeable.
Great due to the capabilities i.e. HDMI, SD card reading, Ethernet all in one, plus easy portability make the device a top seller, we highly value the feedback. Cordially, j5create

Good quality. Easy to use. All these types if units run warm but this borders on hot with minimal outputs. Suggest not placing direct on desk without something under it.

I have been using this adaptor for a few months now and it works good. I wish I could plug in another ethernet cord, but other than that no complaints.

We purchased this for the Microsoft Surface Studio laptop due to the lack of ports on the laptop itself and Microsoft's own official adapter. So far, it has been working well and provides much needed ports and a few extra. We have yet to use several ports at once, so we can't comment on that.
USB-C power delivery 3.0 provides charging power to the connected devices as well as data transfer. Thank you for your review, Joey

Purchased to use with my Samsung Galaxy phone's DeX capabilities and it worked flawlessly. Has enough ports to plug in my Trackball, iMic, and keyboard.
It gets a tad bit hot and I'm not sure if that's normal or not - possibly a condition of charging my phone at the same time.

I needed a reliable adapter with a type C connector for a laptop with only one USB input, and it also had to have slots to attach an external monitor and an ethernet cable, and some slots for the earlier USB plugs. This has them all. It's expensive but worth it.
