This is exactly what I needed to use with my newer MacBook Pro that doesn’t have multiple places to use my various memory devices I’ve used over the years. This all in one is like a “Swiss knife” for computers.

The only problem I found so far is the unit has tendency to heat. I keep it plugged all day long for the Ethernet wire connection and a second screen (laptop + one on HDMI). When too hot, it reboots. But other than that, it's working great and is worth the investment.
Extending the capabilities of your computer with the JCD383 is a smart decision. Supporting video output via HDMI, SD card reading capabilities, USB ports for gadgets and Ethernet for a safer, faster internet experience make work from home, or office easier than ever. Regards, j5create

Sturdy and Functional, just gets HOT

Good little port replicator, the only con is how hot it can get and so i don't use it for powerthru, just when i need to plug in external things (USB, HDMI, ethernet). Works great, feels sturdy!
Generally, adapters emit some heat as a normal part of its operation, especially if the USB-C pass-through charging and/or all ports on the hub are utilized. Please note that hotter operating temperatures can be expected. Thank you for your feedback.

I needed multipule spots to hook up c.d. ,since they no longer have a c.d slot anymore on newer laptops & be able to have room for other devices this gave me 3 extra spots

It works fine for light duty, e.g. a device to add ports to your computer. However, if you use many of the functions/ports simultaneously, it starts to get buggy. I had an HDMI monitor, ethernet, USB-C power cable, and a transmitter for a wireless keyboard and mouse plugged into it, and after a short time, maybe 30 minutes, the wireless transmitter stopped working. It gets quite hot when using ethernet and power pass-through, and my guess is that it overheated causing some of the USB ports to deactivate, but that's just a guess. Either way, if you are looking to use it more as a laptop docking station, I would save your money and get something else. This is not up to that type of use. If you are using it to add a couple of USB ports, occasional and short-term ethernet use, or occasional HDMI monitor use, it should probably work fine.
Adapters emit heat as a normal part of its operation. Please note that hotter operating temperatures can be expected, especially if the USB-C pass-through charging, and/or all ports on the hub are utilized. Ethernet function can heat up because it's consuming/manipulating current.
Wireless keyboard and mouse can stop working due to Radio Frequency (RF) interference from USB 3.0 devices, such as external hard drives and other USB 3.0 removable media. If possible, connect the USB wireless receiver 'dongle' to a USB 2.0 ports, or use a wired key board and mouse instead.

Maybe a bit on the expensive side, but then again, I dont know how to make adapters. The convenience of having all the ports on one adapter that I would find myself using cant be beat. I have not experienced any overheating that I would consider alarming.
Thanks for taking the time to review the JCD383. We're glad to hear the adapter is working for your needs. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to tech support and a rep will gladly assist. Gratefully, j5create

After purchasing my new MacBook Pro I needed something that word accommodate all the different functions that I needed. This unit is extremely helpful. It has multiple drives, is lightweight and easy to pack, and does not get too warm when transferring files. It’s a little on the expensive side but it’s worth it.

Satisfactory in all ways. Simple to use. Good ports. Would be nice if it had additional USB-C ports. But for my use, it was fine.

I bought this because I needed to use some “regular USB” devices (Jambox speakers, wireless mouse, and DVD writer/player) with my new MacBook Pro, and because I wanted to connect my IPad Pro 11” to an HDMI TV 4K for group presentations. This device works perfectly and easily switches from one task to the other.
Techieek, I appreciate you letting us know the JCD383 is working to your needs in regards to your iPad. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your hub, please reach out to support and a specialist will be more than happy to lend a helping hand. Gratefully, j5create

This hub was exactly what we needed. It works perfectly and allows us to connect many devices at once to the limited Surface laptop that we use at work.

I can't tell you how handy this Multi Adapter is. Sleek and matches the color of my wife's laptop. Seems she never has enough places to plug things in. This is the perfect solution! Love this little thing. Small but so incredibly functional. Great problem solver.

My former dongle stopped working, and I needed a new one asap for work. I couldn't wait for Amazon's two day shipping, and fortunately Best Buy had this dongle in stock with all the ports I needed. I run this dongle daily on a Macbook Pro with a second monitor, HD camera, microphone, ring light, and ethernet port. It runs very smoothly, and I haven't had any issues in the three months I've had it. It may feel a little pricey to what you see on Amazon, but the quality so far seems to be worth it.

If you're like me, you've accumulated a lot of things that do not work with a USB-C drive. This allows for an HDMI to connect a second monitor, plus printer connection and external hard drive. It gets a little warm in use but since it sits on the desk like a hub, it doesn't bother me.
We are excited to know the JCD383 Multi Adapter is meeting your needs for connecting USB Type-A devices to your computer, when it comes to the device becoming warm, we would recommend contacting the support team on the packaging in order to best explain normal operating temperatures and best understand this. Respectfully, j5create

Works well for purpose of this purchase. Comfortable but not well versed with all the computer stuff, item is great with new laptop which has only one type of port connection.
Thank you.
The adapter works great with supported DP Alt Mode. Thank you for your review.

Quick transfer speeds for an inexpensive unit. Not entirely thrilled about the pig-tail length cord, BUT that's not BestBuy's fault. Otherwise, works as advertised. Middleman (passthrough) USB-C power input also a win.

I needed an adaptor for a Dell XPS for HDMI as well as standard USB and opted to go for the more diverse, multi-port option.
I like that I can power a USB device from the adaptor when plugged into the laptop. Small and light but seems solid and well made.
Multi-adapter gives you 2 USB Type-A ports for additional peripherals and 1 USB Type-A port with BC 1.2 to fast-charge your mobile device and more. Thank you for your positive feedback, BillGCa.

I like this version better than the side car version with the 2 USB C ports that tends to bend and/or get the Macbook ports sloppy.
