Connected to Thunderbolt port, and it worked. No Drivers or settings just plug and play. Not sure if it works with a USB only port. Used almost every day for 3 months thus far.

It’s a much cheaper option, than most of the going devices out there, for $50-150. Pretty solid, so far: running a Lenovo Yoga to a Vizio 24” smart TV. Best luck.

I upgraded to a different unit that charges the battery on my phone at the same time. It still doesn't keep up but I can watch 4 hours of ultra HD on my 40 inch. Best to upgrade.

I've never heard of the company 'j5create' but I've been happy with this buy. The cord is not very long but it also not thin or flimsy. I have the adapter hooked into a HDMI cable it doesn't really need to long for what I use it for.

Will do 4K, not HDR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I learned a little more about different HDMI and Display Port standards after I purchased this and subsequently returned it. I needed this to use the USB-C/Virtual Link port on my new video card. For the most part, standard 4K video worked. However, when I enabled Dolby Atmos audio and HDR it is not supportable. This is because it is only a Display Port 1.2 and those features are more for DP version 1.4. I attempted this with my Oculus Rift as well and continued to get flickering, which is not good for VR. If you are simply trying to output video and audio from USB-C device to a display up to 4K, this works fine. If you are looking for something to push current technical high end capabilities, this will not work.
