My HDMI connection on my computer went bad, but I still needed my external screen. So, I plugged this in to my USB-C port, plugged my external screen cable into this and BAM! Works like a charm...truly plug and play.

Good alternative for apple original adapter

Great HDMI to USB-C Adapter

This adapter did the trick. I connected it to the HDMI cord that was connected to the monitor and made the connection to the computer. The computer immediately recognized the device. If you are looking for a cord an HDMI to USB-C adapter, you can stop looking. This is a good one.
