I loved this movie. If you liked other Jack Ryan films you will enjoy this one as well. Chris Pine does a fantastic job playing the lead as Ryan and Knighley does not disappoint as Cathy (the future Mrs. Ryan). The story would definitely make Tom Clancy proud.

A fresh & younger Jack Ryan starts again. The acting was held back and could have been much better. Kenneth Branagh is great but in this case, not as a Russian. It's a good movie but doesn't compare to Hunt for Red October or Clear and Present Danger.

This is a very good start to re-energizing the Jack Ryan character that Baldwin and Ford did years before. This gives you a better insight of how the character became involved with the CIA. Should be able to build on this with more movies to come.

This is a DVD that I had been waiting to see ever since it came out in the theaters. Good character development of the early years of Jack Ryan. I have read all of the the Tom Clancy books and seen all of the previous movies based on the books. This gives a look in to the early life and how he began.

Chris Pine does a fine job trying to make you believe he s in fact Jack Ryan. What saves this film is that it focuses on the beginning of Jack Ryan's career which makes the character more believable. Nice addition to the Jack Ryan series.

This movie was worth watching once but not much more than that. The movie was well done but lacked a certain amount of suspense that could have helped the developing storyline. Overall, would recommend watching it at least once.

The plot and overall story line of the movie is great and holds true to the original books written by Tom Clancy. Whenever there isn't realism in the fighting / action scenes it disrupts from the overall believability of the story.

I loved the movie but the plot was not as good as the previous Jack Ryan movie called "The Day After Tomorrow". It had a better plot and was more believable. However, if this is your first Jack Ryan movie, then it was excellent!

I thought this movie was good. There are some parts that were better than others. I've always enjoyed the Tom Clancy movies and this is no exception. Next time I hope there is a little more explosions in CGI to enhance the movie.

ALL actors "become" their characters while wending through the circuitous and engrossing plot. Screenplay is excellent; intonation of each person throughout masterful. Only detraction are the multiple chronological errors which, though causing some consternation, can be dismissed.

A great action movie, but don't confuse it with the previous Jack Ryan movies. The movie sets up the Jack Ryan movies by showing how Jack Ryan gets his start. Although the time he gets his start is far after the other Jack Ryan's time periods. Lots of action. Recommended.

This is a good rainy day action movie. I always enjoyed the Jack Ryan series. Even though I have seen the actor before who now plays Jack Ryan, I do not feel that he is as good as some of the past actors who have had that role.

I bought the movie because it was such a good price. When I watched it I found it was just the entertainment value I needed. It was the type of action movie I enjoyed, and the great price at Best Buy made it even better.

In my opinion I am glad they went with Chris Pine, he is a good actor to put life back into a cult movie genre. My point, Star Trek, he turned around that dated series. Don't get me wrong Star Trek with Shatner will always be good, but Pine is a better person for a sifi film.

This newest entry in to the Jack Ryan movie series will have you on the edge of your seat all the way to the thrilling final action scene. Keira Knightley and Kevin Costner were top notch additions to the cast as well!

This movie was a great evening's entertainment. Much better than 3 Days to Kill which also starred Costner and came out about the same time. Pine, Costner and Knightly were all very good and the plot based on economic warfare between Russia and America was extremely timely.

Fun movie. Great to have the Jack Ryan character back on film or blur ray in this case. I would have liked a little more action from the film. However I do realize that this was an origin of sorts. I'm pleased with the outcome. Very enjoyable. Great picture and sound.

I really liked the way they went back to the beginning and gave us Jack Ryan's story from the start. It was great to see Kevin Costner in the role of Jack's mentor. Wasn't sure if he was good or bad, really great plot and story line. Waiting for the next installment.

Good action movie that keeps your attention. There is a multi-disc set of Jack Ryan films but it was not available in the store where I purchased this but it was available on their web site for slightly more than the single movie.

It was goodbut it seemed the totaly different than the first three.It is action packed and a good movie by itself. It was a bit disapointing that we didn't feel like it had a hunt for red october feel to it.
