Good but needs some tweaking

I read some of the reviews before I bought this device and came close to returning it. Out of the box, the signal was not clear at all and I did hear a hissing sound frequently. Before I took it back, I felt I better read the instructions and try to tune it per instructions first. I am glad i did. After having the device seek out the strongest 5 channels it has worked very well for the past few months. I use it locally and on weekend road trips. It works great in both settings - no static or hissing noise - just clear music

I went in looking to buy a cable set to be installed into my 2005 Cadillac CTS. Unfortunately, they didn't have the hardware in stock, so I settled for this product. After deliberation with the Best Buy employee, I rolled the dice (knowing they have a 30-day return policy if it was awful). I played with it a bit and found a station that was fuzzy (88.3 if you live in DFW, TX). I learned that you cannot have the volume on your ipod up the entire way or else the sound quality is horrible. I have my ipod volume to around 50% and the product works very well. I used to own one of the more expensive FM transmitters (Belkin, I think), which broke. I am surprisingly, and happily, satisfied with this product.

In my 2004 Honda Civic I literally had no aux cord ports whatsoever and I thought I would've had to get a whole new radio but no! It's so easy you plug it in, turn to the radio station it displays, and play your music and it plays in the car! I gave it 3 stars because like a week after I bought it, it started to static and it completely died on me! I'm going to exchange for another one but unless you live near a Best Buy you may want to choose something else.

The iSimple Jamcast unit works well, transmitting cleanly and clearly. The search function for open frequencies works well to avoid broadcast stations as you travel.
Two points reduce my rating to 4 stars from 5: the power port for the unit does not include a USB charging port on the back of the power plug so you need two power ports to both play audio from and charge your portable device; and as is common, the audio plug housing has difficulty fitting through a case port.
Neither of these limitations are deal breakers since the unit works as well as it does, but it would be even more useful if both were resolved.

I have used an fm transmitter before, and I was not impressed. It was staticky and had a really bad quality sound. This one is different. It is easy to use and has a terrific sound. I'm glad I spent a little more to get a better quality product.

Avoid the new model with USB

I had one of the old models of this product without the USB port and loved it! The quality was incredible and it lasted an entire year before breaking when I closed it in the car door. I promptly went out to buy a new one and was very happy to see the new ones came with a built in USB port! Unfortunately to my dismay, after 2 weeks of use this model has proven to have very poor sound quality, despite using the same channel as the old one I had, and trying multiple other channels. It appears they may have taken some power from the built in antenna in order to accommodate the USB port. Not good.

Best FM transmitter that I've ever used.

I live in the DC Metro area, where radioradio stations are plentiful. With other fm transmitters, it was always a pain to have to constantly adjust to a clearer frequency. When I initially plugged in the Jamkast, the presets out of the box noticeably cut through the stations with a good, but staticy signal. After using the scan ability, the clarity was excellent! Very easy to use, and handy that it keeps 4 presets. The only thing I don't like is the control module itself. It is physically really small, the screen even smaller, and it feels rather fragile. I hope the build quality is enough for it to last awhile. Overall, I do feel it was a decent buy, and great alternative to shelling out money to get a new head unit with an auxiliary input installed.

I purchased this about 6 months ago. This works well in areas where no radio stations are available. Sometimes there is static if I am in an area with lots of radio stations. If that is the case, I just change the frequency to another one that does not have a current radio station and it works well.

This transmitter is a very good deal for the price. Very easy to operate and gives a good clear sound. The only thing that would make it better, is if there was a volume control.

This works perfectly for me. I bought it, followed the directions (let it pick the stations), and it worked like a charm! I live in a city, and if I drive 20-30min out into the county, I sometimes have to change a station, but once I change it, it works perfectly again. I agree with other reviewers not to turn up the volume on your iPod all the way, or the sound will break up, otherwise the sound is good. It's just what you'd expect coming from "a radio station". Of course the sound isn't going to be as good as it would be from a CD or if you had a AUX plug directly in your car stereo, but the sound quality is better than a regular radio station. For the technology, I don't think you could get any better. I have a 2006 Toyota Camry.

The JamKast works great. The auto-tune feature that finds the best stations to use for the FM Transmitter works much better than other products I have tried. Even when driving around Downtown Denver, it had no problem finding frequencies to broadcast on with my Zune HD.
Of the 4 frequencies it chose, 3 were excellent connections. Very simple to use, and good sound quality. Does what it should. I just wish it had an extra USB port like other FM Transmitters so I could charge a phone or media player while this one is occupying the 12v plug in. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

Works better than expected, no static at all. The sound is very good, couldn't ask for anything more. Better than going through my bluetooth phone adapter.

iSimple - JamKast FM Transmitter - Black worked pretty well except when you were trying to charge your phone and listen to music at the same time. If you attempted to do this I got distortion coming out of the car speakers. There was also a little static when playing normally. But with all said I think this device performed pretty well.
Thank you for reading my review.

Powerful enough that it will cancel out some broadcast stations
Automatically powers off and on
Be very careful not to leave the control unit face-up in the sun. It is glued together and will overheat like a little greenhouse. Mine warped, but not too bad and it still works.

This FM transmitter is highly effective at overriding FM signals, even when a station does start to come in on the channel you've previously selected as being clear. Works well for longer trips thanks to this when you don't have a direct port for your car stereo.

It worked well for the first few months. But when I went to go turn it on the screen didn't show up so I couldn't even choose a station to play music. Very disappointing for how much it cost.

I always wait to write reviews to make sure the product is reliable before telling others to buy it, and thank goodness I do that. I bought this aux cord at the start of July and 2 months later it is out of commission. First the cord would only work if I wrapped it around my phone so that it was positioned just right (annoying) but now it won't play my music at all (also annoying). Very frustrating as this product cost 40$. I am a college student and treated myself to be able to listen to what I want while in my car but now I feel as if I threw 40$ out the window. Do not buy this product unless you have enough money to repeatedly replace it.
