Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the UP MOVE Activity Tracker's sleep and step tracking, ease of use, and long battery life. Many appreciate its small size and accurate readings, along with the affordable price and helpful app. However, some customers have experienced issues with the clip detaching from clothing and syncing problems with their phones. A few also noted that it lacks waterproofing.

I love this fitness tracker because it is small and unassuming, and it is quite accurate. I wear it on the waist band of my pants every day and on the collar of my shirt every night. I paid $19.99 on Best Buy on-line during a sale, and it is by far the best deal if you are looking to keep track of steps taken, mileage walked, and to keep a log of your sleeping patterns. I had a Fitbit wrist tracker in the past, but it was poor quality, and the charger stopped working after only a month. I returned it and waited about a year before I decided to try the Jawbone UpMove, on the recommendation of a coworker. It keeps track of how many minutes it takes me to fall asleep, how many hours and minutes I slept, and how much of that time was restful vs. light sleep. It also tracks my steps and miles walked and run, but I did notice that when I run, the mileage is a little low compared to what I actually ran. You can also track your eating/diet with this product, but I have yet to utilize that function. I am very happy with this product so far, and for $20, you can't go wrong. I prefer this type of wearable technology to the wrist band I used to have, as it was somewhat bulky and annoying when I slept. I forget the UpMove is even there; I just have to be vigilant that I don't put it in the wash!

    Good entry-level activity tracker

This is an entry-level activity tracker, but what's great about it is that it allows you to use the same Jawbone app that other higher-end Jawbone devices use. You do give up a few features, but the basic things (steps, sleep, exercise time, calories) are all here, and for most people, that's enough. It is a lot better than a basic pedometer. It counts steps obviously, but on your phone, it also graphs it for you so you can see throughout the day when you are most active, and that might motivate you to do more. One advantage that it offers is that it doesn't need to be attached to your wrist, so for cycling exercise (indoors or outdoors), you can keep it in your pocket and it will track the spins for you. With a wrist band, you cannot know how many spins you've made because usually the wrist is stationary. The battery lasts a long time (it says 6 months). I've had it for about 2 months, and it is still going strong. So unless you want more advanced things like heart rate, GPS and message notifications, this is a very good and low-cost way to start tracking your activities.

Some Good, but with Serious Flaws

The Good: It's small and inexpensive. It does a good job tracking steps, and syncs easily and wirelessly with the UP app. It takes an easy-to-find watch battery, so it does not need to be charged. The Bad: It's not so good if you want to track sleep also. A wrist band is an extra $15, and it's a nuisance to get the thing in and out of it's clip. The UP app itself, is poorly designed and coded. It crashes frequently, sometimes crashing the phone itself (something I've seen no other app do.) And if you are tracking sleep, the app adds more sleep every time it syncs. On one day, it eventually said I had slept for over 23 hours between 11 and 6:30. This happened almost every day. BTW these app problems apply to any of the Jawbone trackers. And the Worst: The clip does not hold tightly to your clothing, causing the device to fall off while you are using it. Mine lasted about a week before falling off someplace where it could not be found. I replaced it with a different product, one that does not have the serious disadvantages as this one.

I enjoy using the Jawbone Up Move because of the ability to utilize the clip instead of a wrist band (although those are available). While it does not have all the features of the higher end Jawbone options (or various competitors), the UP Move has the features that I am looking for most -- step and sleep tracking -- with the ability to sync to other applications. If you are looking for a wifi enabled basic step tracker for a modest price, this is a good option. The software is fairly easy to use and also allows for inputting workouts, mood, food, weight, and sleep (if you forgot to turn on the tracker). You can also team up with your friends to encourage each other and write comments about their workouts or your own.

Love the Up Move, very acurate steps and activity as well as sleep tracking. Love sharing goals and progress with family and friends. Easily provides incentives to work at goals. Wish it was waterproof so it would count my laps in the pool.

Got this item in the store for a better deal than the online sale. It has worked very well, exceeding all my expectations. I chose this over a wrist version, as I do not like things on my wrist (they get caught all too often). I have had it working for a few weeks, and have not yet needed to change out the battier. It syncs up to my iPhone perfectly and tracks steps very well (top goal 20,000+ steps so far). The goal tracker works very well, and tracks the idle time on the Up device, to track when I am sleeping.

picked this up on sale and have not been disappointed. Keeps track of steps, has a stop watch, tracks sleep, and even can be used as a watch. I had to buy the wrist bands for it to track sleep i dont mind having to log activities on the app, but some might

I am the owner of a Jawbone Up24 but I was not always happy with the fact that I had to wear it around my wrist. When I found the Up Move I was happy with the fact that I could wear it under my clothes and still get the simple results I was looking for. If you are just looking for an activity monitor just to track your steps and you want to be discreet about it...this is the tracker for you. However, I was a little disappointed to find out that the tracker will only light up in a fill circle if you reach the goal of 10,000 steps or more; not the personal goal you set in the app. When you look at Jawbone's YouTube video for the tracker it makes it seem as though the tracker will glow in a fill circle once you have reached YOUR goal. The truth is you have to walk 10,000 steps in order for this feature to work.

I love that it clips on rather than having to wear on wrist. It is great for tracking steps, exercising, and sleep. Would like it to be able to set up notifications when sitting too long at desk to get up a move around.

Easy set-up and sync with my Samsung Galaxy 5. There is no way to delete the "Coaching" threads. Tracking nutrition is a bit cumbersome. I have used other apps where it was easier to log your food. I bought the Jawbone Up to track and keep record of my steps and it does that accurately. With the clip, I do not need to have my phone in my pocket to track my steps.

Once I followed the video better I understood how to work my Jawbone. I love how it keeps track of my steps and if I reached my goal for the day. Also when I use it strictly for my work out keeping track of the time. The sleep mode is interesting as far as letting me know how much sound sleep vs light sleep I received.
