It is so nice to be able to track my sleep, steps and exercise. It makes me more aware of my daily activity and encourages me to stay active. The alarm to wake up gently vibrates instead of an annoying ring. I like that. I have used My Fitness Pal App for 3 1/2 years, so I have synced it with my UP3. If you are not already using an app for logging food, you will probably love the UP3 for logging your food, but I really like taking care of food in My Fitness Pal. Everything in there syncs with my UP3. I also like that my tracker looks like a piece of jewelry instead of a fitness tracker.

I got this for my wife, she loved the color and wanted something smaller than her Samsung Fit. She gets lots of comments on it and it is great for tracking steps, sleep and calories (in app)

Love this product. Lightweight, fashionable, pairs with my phone and gives excellent feedback as well as helpful tips. Best to charge in an electrical socket because when charging to my computer the battery doesn't last 7 days as it states.

4.5 stars if that was an option. My main reasons for buying a jawbone over a Fitbit were that it tracked different types of sleep, the UP app was better rated, and I wanted to have something without a text display (to unplug from technology better when I wanted to). It delivered on all those fronts, and I think the jawbone looks better. It has some trouble with sleep tracking if you wake up early in the morning for longer than a bathroom break and then go back to bed. It logs the sleep info but you usually have to go and accept the data, and as a nap. Otherwise phenomenal sleep tracker that I've gained a LOT of insight from. Other noted comments: I have a Garmin when I want to get serious on workout distance and heart rate data; this isn't super accurate on those fronts. Really like the jawbone resting heart rate trend tracking for stress management. Once worn in, the jawbone clasp on the wristband works better than a typical watch band, but can be troublesome until then. Charge life is about 5 days, and holds up on splash resistant. Personally previously struggled with wearing a watch all the time because I'm not fond of having something always on my wrist. The smaller profile helps, but looking forward to a time where technology would allow this to be more of a bangle. App rediculously easy to use, and reminds you when you've forgotten to log a workout (and cheers you on in the number of workouts logged in addition to steps). Meal logging/rating and water tracking has helped tremendously with continuing to eat right. Comparison of calories burned and calories consumed has helped prevent/lessen binge eating.

I'm on my third version of UP's fitness band. (first one plugged into my phone for updates; second one updated wireless. ~They were slip on/ wrap style bracelet) UP has fixed the early design flaws (problems with the end program buttons for slip on bracelet, shrinkage of band material {medium over time became size small}) with the new adjustable band design. The app (no charge) provides an amazing amount of information. New, with UP3 you get resting heart rate (sleeping) as well as your passive heart rate (moving around). This is not a second by second tracking, but an average. The bracelet talks to the iphone (has android app version); you only have to take it off to charge it. I put it on the charger when in the shower. Water resistant, not waterproof. This product is a terrific for anyone who wants to keep track of all kinds of data: exercise, mood, food, weight and sleep. Can compare data against goals. Health coach can nag you if you let it. The UP/Jawbone people keep improving their product. Love, love, LOVE my UP band! Have had one on for about 3.5 years now.

The UP3 is an awesome all around activity tracker. The hardware is perfectly functional except for a short battery life, dramatically decreased with active use such as tapping the band to check the mode a lot. Passive use gives about a 6 day battery life. The heart rate monitor is great but the software (and battery) are not advanced enough to make it an active Monitor. So no during workout heart rate, only a once a day resting heart rate. Overall a great product that will only get better with firmware updates.

Great monitor of steps, sleep and occasional heart rate check during the day and your sleep cycle. Durable, stylish, don't love the way the band to close it works, but it keeps it in place and the charging is good too.

I like the color, like I'm wearing a regular bracelet. It keeps track of my steps, heart beat and sleep. Although I find when it tracks my sleep, it's not accurate for time waking up moment. Also recently noticed the battery is not as lasting as long as it did when I first start using it, charge use to last a week. I'm finding that I have a tendency to look at it for time but there is no display so I am thinking of purchasing the Samsung Fit Gear 2 since it now works with most android phone.

Jawbone products have been in my family for a few years now and we are very pleased with the performance. Something very important to us is the customer service of a company and Jawbone has definitely held up theirs to the highest standards. With a bit of trouble we had with my fiancés previous UP24 band I sent an email and they were quick to respond & immediately shipped a replacement at no charge to us. We upgraded to the UP3 for the heart rate monitor and newer style which she loves to wear

I upgraded after a year and a half with the UP24. The 3 is pretty good. Firmware updates now allow for heart rate tracking throughout the day, however, only passive heart rate, not active. (Only reads you HR when you are sitting still not while doing an activity.) The clasp is a little weird at first, but I got the hang of it fairly quickly. The app is very user friendly and well designed. My biggest problem with it is the battery life. It is supposed to last "up to 7 days." The most I've gotten on a full charge is 5. I feel like I'm constantly charging the thing.

Takes a while to figure out how to charge. Must be positioned perfectly on USB cable end. Charge only lasts about 4 days. Accurate with activities, sleep, steps taken and heart rate.

The customer service is gteat. The features are great especially the tracking of the three features: steps, sleep and heart rate. I've purchased an UP24 and an UP3. I experienced a problem with the UP24 the 1st time within a year and Jawbone replaced with a new UP24 immediately. The replacement UP24 band broke after about 5 or 6 months of receiving it and by that time it was past the year warrenty. I purchased the UP3 which ed had additional features like the heart rate and the band broke in the same place where the UP23 replacement band broke. I wish it could be made with better material to last longer because the features are really great to monitor for your health. Also, the clasp for the band need securing often. It fell off my arm a couple of times. I would recommend this product as long as it is understood that the product is good but the band was an issue for me.

The Jawbone is a great product! The durability is great because I am not east on this product!!! I do wish that the band could adjust to fit an extra small wrist because my wrists are extra small . Also would like to see it improve to have the time on it but that is a personal preference. The clasp sometome come apart but that could be user error!!! Overall the Jawbone UP3 Is working pretty well I do like it a lot.

The Jawbones UP 3 HR performs great. It does a good job tracking my activity as well as my heart rate. The battery life is about 7 days much better than others HR devices.

Best Device but software just isn't there yet

My UP3 order was part of the original pre-order and I have used the UP3 for months now. Everything currently promised it does from Resting Heart Rate, to tracking activity, and counting steps. However if you are looking for a more serious device because you are more fitness inclined this is NOT the right device software wise. The hardware of the UP3 has more sensors than any other "current" health band on the market but getting any data based on some of these sensors just doesn't exist. The Software (the UP App available for both Android and iOS) is more for people who are just starting their fitness journey in my opinion. The software totals your steps allows you input your food while it gives short twitter like snips of insight daily. But again lacking a coaching insight or hard suggestions based on your overall data. The device will link with Third Party apps and services but that seems to be a short list. If you are just starting out the UP3 is a good device however if you are still waiting for the breakout health device because of the lack of software's insights the UP3 isn't it yet.

The Up3 has a decent battery life (just under one week) and seems durable enough (my work is very abusive to anything worn on my hands and arms). Putting on and removing the band took some practice, but I never found it particularly difficult. I did find the clasp would slip - not come undone, but loosen - to where the band would slide up and down my wrist; a little pinch with a pair of pliers and this is no longer a problem. On to the app. I like that the band tracks my sleep automatically (a function I always forgot to turn on with my Ftbit). I also like that it pays attention to my increased activity and will remind me to log workouts. As food logging goes, I personally think Jawbone has done a better job than other fitness trackers and their associated apps, but would still recommend an external app. Jawbone syncs with several, and not just food trackers but fitness and lifestyle apps, as well. The app lets you look at trends in your logs (how much sleep, how many steps, calories burned, etc.). It also makes suggestions based on your activity, and lets you rate those suggestions so it can learn more about you. My only complaint is that the app seems to break after every update. The developers are very quick to fix it (typically within 24 hours), but it still reduces the band to little more than a fashion accessory for that duration. If app failure wasn't so common, I'd give it 5 stars.

This is the third Jawbone UP. The one I just purchased is an UP3...quite a good product. I was worried about my heart rate, so that was my main motivation for moving up to the UP3. Actually, it is a better tracker all around...the sleep info is good...the step counter is always helpful. I highly recommend the UP3.
