I purchased this band for my mom since she and i both have been fans of the up bands. She loves that this band uses bluetooth to connect to her phone and that its able to track her heart rate. Since she sits a lot she appreciates the motivational messages that the app send to her on her phone and when it lets her know that she's been to idle for too long. Best gift ever and way to motivate you to stay fit.

It is really good to keep track of things like sleep and activity. I gave it 4 stars because the silent vibrating alarm is so light you dont feel it even when awake.

I've been using Jawbone products for some time now, starting with the original UP band which I really liked. Jawbone has continually added features to their various bands, and this is no exception. The software is really top notch and shows you much detail about your steps, sleep and with this band, heart rate. You can also track your weight and calories. Weight has to be entered in manually. I have not used the calorie tracking. My biggest complaint about the UP3 over earlier versions is the way it is designed. Earlier bands slipped on and off with no clasp and you could put it on or remove it with one hand in an instant. This version is much more of a pain to get on and off. The other thing you should realize if you are purchasing this specifically for the heart rate feature is that it doesn't continually monitor your heart rate - it only periodically measures it. Not ideal if you want to know what your heart rate is at any given moment. Other than that, it's great for tracking steps and exercise, as well as sleep. It will tell you how many hours of sleep you got, how much of that was sound sleep or light sleep and how many times you woke up. It also encourages you to do better, both in terms of more exercise and more sleep. You can set your goals and it will help you to reach them. It will give you challenges that you can choose to accept or not. If you slip up, it encourages you to do better without making you feel bad.

I have really enjoyed by up3 by jawbone. I'd been thinking about which band to buy. So happy with this one. Tracks my sleep, steps, and heart rate. Very easy to use. I can also input my weight, water intake, food intake, get reminders for taking meds, there's just so many benefits. It's amazing. Under 100 dollars.

Two comments 1) The sleep tracker works for people who sleep through the night, but it isn't very good for those of us who nap and sleep in short sequences. 2) It isn't made for small wrists. I have it as small as it will go, but it is still too large for my wrist. I like the way Fitbit has a selection of bands rather than one size supposedly made to accommodate all.

This purchase was a gift for my mother. She wanted a fitness tracker but didn't need a watch. It did have to look 'not out of place' alongside jewelry and work attire - most bands are a little too sporty. This device had all the features she required, including heartrate tracking, and could easily be adjusted to fit her wrist (even those with very large wrists should have no issue adjusting the band to fit). The app was easy to configure and had all sorts of functionality.

I have been using this for about a month now and am very satisfied so far. I like having the ability to have a very complete view with not only steps but heart rate, sleep evaluation, and diet evaluation. The only real problem I've had so far is the clasp doesn't always stay put. I have had a couple times that it almost fell off my wrist because the clasp slide open.

got this UP3 on sale for $45. one of the best trackers on the market . app for the phone is great. heartbeat monitoring, calorie tracking, workout assist and much more. the only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is because it has no screen,so you must use your cell to see all your activity

Step count seems to be accurate when compared to my GPS from my sports watch. Sleep is a little more difficult to interpret than on the prior version, but is worlds better than the Fitbit. Only wish it was waterproof as originally planned. If you're moving up from the prior Jawbone, you will find that a charge lasts you less time (at least in my experience.

Definitely prefer this device over Fitbit & Garmin. The Jawbone "UP" App to view data readings is excellent. Smart Coach that summarizes personal data is great. Takes into account Sleep, Steps, and Food intake for personalized feedback & goal setting. Only drawback on device is clasp occasionally will unlock. Minor annoyance. Definitely Recommend.

This is actually my 3rd jawbone tracker. The first two were great until they had malfunction issues. Good thing I bought the warranty! Anyway, I have had this one for several months now, and it does a great job of tracking my steps and my sleep. It's comfortable and even looks good. I would recommend the protection plan though.

Chose this for the detailed sleep tracking and comfortable design. Tried the Fitbit Charge HR but was rubbery and stiffer on my wrist. The Up3 is more attractive, comfortable and has a more refined sleep tracker. Not so interested in exact step counts, more for weekly trends. Wish it could share data with more Fitness apps.
