I have had some bad luck with headphones in the past, but I have come across these JayBird - BlueBuds X Bluetooth headphones and I have to say not only is the quality, but the comfort and style of these headphones are just remarkable. At first it takes a little getting used to, but then once you own them and wear them in, they get to be really trendy. I love not having to pick up my phone to answer my calls. Bluetooth is the way to go.

The sound of these headphones great if you push the ear buds in to where they seal in your ear. The bass is wonderful and the treble right where it should be. With that having been said, they are still ear buds and I've always had problems with them staying in my ears once I start to sweat, and these are no exception. The earpieces that come with them to help them stay in your ears don't work very well and I had buy other items that worked much better. The connectivity of these headphones are VERY good. I've had other Bluetooth headphones and it took a couple of seconds for them to connect or I had trouble with them connecting period. Once you put the Jay Birds on and turn them on, they talk to you..."Power on, headphones connected" and you're ready to go. Also with these headphone I rarely have any trouble with any part of my body blocking the signal. It usually only happens when I am mowing and only for a second. The range of these headphones is far superior to the other headphones I had. These are a good 30 ft+ depending on where you are and what's between you and your mobile device. I am very happy with these headphones. Plus I was talking someone in the gym who had this brand of headphones longer than I have and he said when they say they are "guaranteed" waterproof, they mean it. He had trouble with his once before because his swear got in them and it distorted the sound. He sent them in and they gave him a new pair. Great customer service. Not like the other pair I had which is why I bought the Jay Birds in the first place. In conclusion, I love these headphones on all points except that they are still earbud and fall out of your ears when you sweat. Others products out there help with this but that's up to you to decide what you want buy to help with this. Hopefully in the future they will come up with a better design to help them stay in your ears and then will rule the market.

    Nearly Perfect EarBuds

These earbuds have hands down been the best fit I've been able to find. The fact that they come with small, medium and large ear cushions is a HUGE advantage over other in ears. These were nearly perfect headphones other than two gripes I have about them. The first is the growing annoyance when you adjust the volume. Every single volume change will momentarily pause your music which at first wasn't a huge deal but gradually after time kind of irkes you when you are trying to get to the perfect volume. The only other small issue I had with these is the maximum volume on the headphones. Now I know as far as safety goes screaming earbuds directly in your ear canal probably wouldn't be the best as far as ear health goes. But at the same time I feel like the maximum volume could be a tad bit higher given that the price is also a tad bit higher than other wireless buds. Overall, these earbuds in my opinion are the best wireless buds on the market as of now. The $150 price tag may be a little daunting for some however, if you have the money available and are looking for some great sound quality, impressive 6 to 8 hour battery life, secure fit, and the big one NO wires then pick up a pair!

Great headphones, but ear fitment can be an issue

I've been using these headphones for a couple of months now and overall, they've been great. The sound quality is excellent, the bluetooth connection is solid, and the volume buttons on the wire are very handy. The battery life is also pretty impressive. I've never been able to drain it and I can go on several runs in a row without needing to worry about charging it. My only criticisms are that the ear fit can be an issue for some people. I am one of those people. I've tried all 3 of the different earpiece sizes and actually wound up using 2 different sizes for left and right because my ears are weird. The right side still wiggles loose most of the time when i'm running, but it doesn't ever fall out completely. So the sound quality suffers a bit in that ear and it gets some wind noise, but it's mostly manageable. The left side ear is a solid fit. If you're going to use these in an active way, the over-ear method is a must. It's probably also worth noting that the headphones have great controls but they don't work in all apps. The play/pause and skip buttons don't work to control the music in my running app, for example.

The BlueBuds X are an overall great product. They are lightweight, fit well and are great for working out or just everyday wear. I have had no issues running in them - they stay in place and I have no issues when they get a little wet (sweat or rain) (they do have a lifetime warranty for sweat damage so I would not have expected any problems). The headphones come with enough variations with the wing sizes and ear bud sizes that you can hopefully get a good fit - also you can set them up to wear behind the head, behind the neck or in front. You just have to spend a little time to get them set up in the way that works best for you. Now for the CONS: The included instructions are vague which makes the behind the head configuration confusing to set up. Although they sound great compared to other wireless headphones, the sound quality does not compare to the high-end wired sport headphones (which cost less than these). Also, these are pretty expensive (even compared with similarly rated wireless headphones). For me the sound quality is good enough for my workouts and the convenience of the wireless makes them worth the sacrifice in sound quality. Also, they fit me really well (I did take a few times to get them set up right though) so for me the cost was worth it.

I was more than a little skeptical of the price. To this point, I had relied on ear buds that ran between $20 and $40. So I stood at the register in a cold sweat as they swiped my card for $179+. I've been very happy with these headphones so far. Pros: wireless Bluetooth, battery life, comfort... I bought these for my workouts and runs and not having the buds ripped out of my ears because I've caught the wire on something is a wonderful relief. The battery lasts for about 4 hours and I love that there is a battery life display on my iphone to let me view the status. They stay in place pretty well as I run and jump rope. Cons: price, battery charging, initial fitting. They're expensive. You have to charge them with a USB and that means plugging them into my laptop and leaving my laptop on for quite some time- just kind of a pain. They come with different bud sizes and different ear piece sizes and it took some time to find the right combination. If money isn't a issue, buy them.

Sound quality is excellent. Bluetooth is very reliable--it hasn't dropped once using it about 1-2 hours/day. Switching over to another device is simple. Fit is decent, although I have had problems with the cable snagging on the back of my neck and yanking out if I turn my head while running. Slightly overpriced, but seems that the general market has lowered to about $124 since purchasing.

I did a lot of research before dropping a lot of money for good wireless earbuds. These have better sound then my SoulRepublic wired buds and the battery life is great. The fit however was a little bit of a challenge that's why I gave them 4 stars. I ended up using my buds off my SR because they fit me better. Takes a few times putting them in to get use to how they should fit. If you do it just slightly wrong they hurt but I've got that down now. I use them with my iPhone while outside working or washing the truck and it's great not having a cord to get ripped out of your ear! I don't jog, but I did use the little clamp thingy to make the cord shorter and that really helped them stay in place so when you turn your head it doesn't pull the bud out of place. The controls are not very clear if you want to use Siri and sometimes when I answer calls they don't go to my buds which can be a pain. But I don't use them for talking on the phone. When they do connect everything is clear on both ends. I recommend spending the $20 for the geek squad coverage because it's good for 2 years. just have to take them in and they give you new ones. That's cheap insurance. Hope this helps because I did a lot of reading and research before I dropped my $140.

I tend to enjoy high quality audio from any products I buy, and I must say these wireless Bluetooth earphones deliver. I was skeptical at first at how loud they might be, the sound quality they would deliver, and the battery life they would provide... and i wasn't disappointed. . I get about 5 hours at max volume before having to recharge. I enjoy the full bass (as long as you fit them correctly into your ears), and the highs and lows the earphones produce with just about any music genre. I will say the shortcomings of these earphones is the size. They aren't huge but they aren't exactly small and they stick out of your ears more than one would expect. They also aren't the most comfortable fit in the world, no matter what I tried at least. I tried all three sizes of ear bud tips, including all three sizes or earpieces that attach to stabilize the ear bud into your ear (comfort grips?). I use my ear buds daily, and I also use them in the gym. Since the earphones can be worn in two different configurations I had to try both. The fancier over the ear fit is cool... but fitting them perfectly is a pain. One other comment i have about the earphones is there is noway to tell 'how much' battery you have left. My Jambox will have a voice that will tell me battery percentage, but these ear-buds will just give an audio warning of low battery when you have about ten minutes of playtime left and then power off... and this could be when you think you have a full charge. So my advice - keep track i guess of how long you listen and how long you might have left before recharging. I don't like recharging when not necessary as to preserve the battery's lifespan. Overall I enjoy my earphones. I actually love them. The price is high but I would buy them again. I am sure as time passes improvements will be made, and I will invest in another pair of these amazing Bluetooth ear buds.

Works well for wireless headphones at office

My primary purpose is to use these at work so I can drown out the chatter and give me some background noise. Corded headphones either tangled me up or caused my phone to drop on the floor as I turned around. These work great for my purpose. Wireless will easily work to the copier room at least 50 ft away. The battery life also seems to be pretty close to 8 hours, though I have the volume at the lowest setting. I don't care for the silicon eat tips so I swapped in memory foam ones which seem to me more comfortable and provide for better sound. I don't use the ear hooks either as they hurt my ears - plus the foam tips hold the phones in fine. Finally, I wish they came with some alligator clips to attach the cord to my shirt. This is especially needed since I only have one bud in while at work. Otherwise the other side pulls down and pops out the side that you're listening to. I bought some on eBay but for $150, they should have come with something so inexpensive.

    The bluetooth headset to get

After having tested and/or purchased 8-10 headsets over the years I was not expecting to find a pair of headphones that would fit all my needs. I wanted headphones that would be comfortable to wear for extended times, be able to stay in my ears during jogging or workouts, be wireless, not have any wires going under my chin or touching my neck, have decent bass, be in the ear style with noise blocking and of course be a good sounding. The Jaybird BlueBud X headphones have fit all my needs and I wear them to the gym 6 days a week and love them. I have them configured so that the connecting wire is over the ear and behind the head and in this setup I have the wire shortened with the connectors provided, and this lets me wear them with nothing touching my neck. I have never had luck with any other headsets staying in my ears that could also provide good sound blocking. These are light and stay in my ears with no problems at all. They hold a charge well and I just make it a habit to charge them 2x a week and I have never run out of power. Controls are simple to use. My only issue is that they are a little more expensive than I would like, but I have no remorse paying the price since they do fit all my needs.

After researching a bunch of Bluetooth in ear headphones these seemed to be the best choice as far as battery life (8hrs), sound, loudness, and comfort. I've had power beats before and loved the sound but as far as reliability is garbage. Don't get me wrong, these headphones do sound great. So far these have held up with sweat but sometimes my right earbud gets a little loose. Could just be me. I would like to see new Bluetooth in ears to have a sleeker design which is why I didn't give these a 5 star...

I needed a good pair of headphones for the gym and these are an excellent option. Not only are these sweatproof, they offer great sound. It took about 40 minutes to set these up in terms of sizing them properly, finding the right tips etc. The actual act of pairing to my phone took seconds, but without spending adequate time to get the fit right, nothing else will matter because these will just flop out of your ears or sound horrible because you're not making a proper seal. I struggle with finding a good fit with in-ear headphones usually, but after picking up a pair of Comply Foam tips, I'm officially happy with how these feel and stay in my ears. Without the comply tips, my complaint would be that the sound could be louder, however, the seal I make now is very tight and sound quality is great (albeit sometimes too much on the bassy side).

Mostly excellent, with one minor shortcoming...

For the most part, I really love these headphones. In fact, I like them so much that I actually purchased a second set for my wife. That being said, let me start this review by detailing the one shortcoming that I've discovered after roughly 6 months of use. My only real complaint with this set of bluetooth headphones is the fit in my ear canals. Due to the bigger size of the earbuds, the tips don't fit in my ears quite right to optimize noise-cancellation. In the gym, it is sometimes difficult for me to hear my music over the speakers at the facility without cranking up the volume to deafening levels. I have read some reviews online that purchasing cheap memory foam ear-tips online help with this, but I haven't tried this myself so I can't comment either way. Despite this minor drawback, the Bluebuds X are definitely my bluetooth headphones of choice for fitness. I wear them for weight-lifting, running, and pretty much any sort of exercise with no issues that they might fall off. I also like that you can customize the fit behind your head to make them fit tighter (my preference) or let the unifying cord hang loose (my wife's preference.) The sound quality is excellent and I've never had an issue with the signal--the bluetooth connection remains stable even when I leave my phone in the lower level of our home and walk upstairs. The battery life is phenomenal as well. I workout roughly 1-2 hours per day and I only find myself charging the set once per week. The inline buttons are convenient for accessing audio controls and Siri on my iPhone as well, which is also a huge plus. Overall, the price is a bit steep for these headphones, but I've purchased several cheaper sets before getting these and I've always been disappointed--mostly due to the fact that the fit was never quite right and the cheaper sets always fell out when I did more strenuous exercise. Finally, the last feature that I really believe is worth mentioning is the amazing waterproofing on these headphones. I sweat a lot (and I accidentally even threw the set in the washer on one occasion) and they are still working perfectly.

These headphones work amazing. It took a while to finally get that secure fit for maximum sound quality but once I got the right size ear bud tip / wing combo the sound was amazing, I use my phone and computer to watch movies and listen to music. The audio from movies on my computer is on point; music from my iPhone couldn't sound better; and I couldn't be happier with the fit and comfort during 10-15 mile bike treks. The Bluebuds produce great bass and treble. After using these for more than two months without issue, I highly recommend them!

I was a bit skeptical on the high ratings and the recommendations that these were the best bluetooth earbuds on the market. Well after trying them I am a believer. I've owned the Logitech triple fi's ($180) and the Westone UM3X-RC ($340) so I do enjoy high sound quality than the average consumer. The earbuds sound fantastic for their price point especially when they are on sale. The soundstage is wide, instrument separation is present, the crisp smooth treble is there and the bass is present without being to overwhelming. It does lack the extended sub bass but that is because the rubber inserts do not properly seal. Getting a set of comply foam tips (not included) help tremendously in isolation and bass but they do get dirty and need to be replaced quite often. The sound quality is on par with higher end IEM (internal ear monitors) so you audiophiles looking for BT and high fidelity sound will not be disappointed. The bluetooth feature does as stated, lasting 8hrs and having a very good wireless range without disconnect. The fitment on these are ok, they don't conform to your ear, instead you stick them in your ear canal and the wings keep them from falling out. These would sell for this price even if they were wired, but since these are BT and there's no discernible drop off in sound quality, I give it a very high rating.

Ultimately they sound great and the range is superb. You won't hear any loss in audio from the Bluetooth connection either. I have normal size ears but none of the buds fit very well. When I run and start to sweat, the buds tend to slip out. None of the buds fit very well either but I manage to get them in ear partially. Lastly, I play audio at about half to 3/4 of audio level and from full charge I only see about a 3-4hr capacity before recharge is needed. Not quite the 10hr claim but it's pretty good compared to other models.
