Different in a Great Way...mostly!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say? I own and use my original Jaybirds and they are great! I also have a pair of the Bose in ears and like them too. My original Jaybirds are great when I want to silence the world around me while listening to their great sound. They last a good long time on a charge! I never run out of sound but don't use them for more than a four or five hours at a time when flying. I have to charge my Bose in ears with greater frequency and they let in ambient noise which I like when biking or outside or even flying sometimes because they give me situational awareness. However, both my Jaybirds shut out the jet noise when flying (not to mention screaming babies now and then...I always feel sorry for them and their parents, and those without means to 'shut them out'). So why did I buy these? They were on sale for Black Friday. They sound good and clear with less bass than my originals, but they also have the attachable/detachable battery that can be charged while I am listening to what is left in the on-board battery. If I have my backup battery to charge phone or tablet, I can also remove the extra battery and charge it too, and if my on-board dies, simply remove the charging battery pack, attach it to charge and listen to more music, then after a while, put it back on the charger again. I could see doing this for days should there ever be a need for such. A pretty cool way to recharge the unit and keep listening should there be a need!!! They do fit differently and the over the ear method doesn't work quite as well for me (my preferred method to wear them), but that isn't a deal breaker for me. I have worn them below ear and they hang in just fine. I really like the cord management system!!! It is nice to be able to unblock my ears with the old ones and have the buds hang over my ears, but again, not a deal breaker with the new ones. So, the bottom line is that each have a purpose, both sound good, but I like the sound of the originals a bit better. Not sure if they use a different driver for the 'Special Edition' but glad that I can boost the bass with the app (something I do not do with my old Jaybirds. I love the wireless convenience and the comfort it provides. These 60 year old ears aren't the audiophiles they once were, but all of the wireless earbuds I own are excellent! Great job, Jaybird. Keep up the quality and work!

Kind of overhyped? Good for gym, not commuting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these headphones as they were on sale. And I would have had to pay 150 otherwise. However I don't find them to be loud and I the battery goes fast. But it does have a cool charging pack. They're ok but are best for the gym. Not commuting

Bang for Buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up these Jaybird Freedom earbuds while initially looking for another item at the store. It was displayed in the main aisle for $50 and a huge sign that said savings of $100! lol I used to have the LG Tone Platinum, which were pretty decent minus the hefty $200 price tag. These Jaybird earbuds work great, that is once you get the thing to actually stay put in/on your ear. I don't like that the control on the right end is sort of heavy. The Jaybird app to customize/control the EQ is quite amazing! You can truly customize to the T of the EQ of your preference. And the sound is good as well. I'd say it was worth the $50, and I'd recommend at that price point but IDK about paying the actual price at $150. I'd probably pay that price or higher if it was more comfortable on the ear and the remote wasn't so heavy tugging on the cord.

Amazing sound!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this on sale for $49.99 and it's well worth it. The sound quality is amazing. It stays on after a run. The only thing is the controls, at least for me. I was used to the Motorola Buds that controls on each side. Overall, great product!

Great headphones for working out
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are great because of the wireless feature and how sturdy they are. Ive dropped them a handful of times and they still continue to work. The only this I dislike is how long they last I feel like they die will I'm on long runs.

Good sound quality, excellent battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this with my friends suggestion and he was not wrong. The sound quality is good, it's comfortable on ear. The best part is battery life (I get about 3.5 hrs on earphone and another 3 hour or so with battery pack that comes with it).

Nice earphones with some drawbacks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is great but with only 4 hours of battery life and requires a special clip for an additional 4 hours of battery life. The special clip is needed to charge the internal battery so if the clip is lost there is no way to charge them

Excellent wireless headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having owned several wired and wireless headphone from Bose, Beats and Skull candy, the Jaybird scores in mostly 2 areas - design and sound quality. They are comfortable to wear, do not fall off the ears and the adjustable tips adjust to various ear sizes. The trick really is is ability of the included app to customize the sound and you get crisp sounds, good lows and mids. This is not a bass monster like the Beats but more than makes for it with its long battery life, comfortable wear and crisp sound. Highly recommended

overall good headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I like the headphones and the fit. The only thing that I don't like is that without the clip the battery only lasts 4 hours. I think just having a longer lasting battery as with the X2/X3 is more ideal than a battery clip.

Son's loves them
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got them for my 14 year old and he loves them. I think they are pretty good and sound impressive especially for the price. The convenience of Bluetooth is cool. For the price, you can't beat them. Let's see how they hold up.

Not really functional. 2 piece charging.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound, the fit, the ease of use all are a plus. However the 2 piece charging set up makes this a no go. Keeping up withe wires alone is hard enough. Add in the keeping up with the tony charging clip makes it a no for me.

Must download App for best sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice comfortable noise canceling earbuds. Sounds great after app download. App is easy to use. Battery seems to only last about 4 hrs tops which is very unfortunate. 149$ buds should have much more battery life than that.

Really good!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Five stars for the price ($49.99 on sale)! Sound is great, and Jaybird app has an EQ to adapt sound profile to your preferences. Pretty comfortable with Comply foam eartips (Special Edition only includes silicone tips). Charging clip is annoying when attached while wearing the phones, but is quick/easy way to recharge. All these would be legit complaints if I paid $200 for these. The Freedom F5 are better than any bt headphones around $100 I have tried, so for half that price they are outstanding!

Good ear headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect for running. Not so much working out (weightlifting), but still does the job. The only thing I didn't like was the battery life. Still recommend for all the people tired of the bulky over the head headphones.

So so
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are ok for sale price of $50 but for list price of $150 would be terrible. Sound quality is ok but not great. Things that I like are how they fit in the ear. They are very comfortable in ears. Easily pair with the phone. Now the things that not so great. They came with the ear pods that kept falling off or remained in ear after I removed the headphones. I had to remove them from my ear cavities with my fingers several times. Finally, I lost one of them on the side of my keyboard at my office. I ordered the replacement pods from Amazon for Freedom headphones and they seem to be of better quality and have not fallen off or remained in my ear. Not sure why the original pods of such pure quality. I never had this problem with any other headphones even with very cheap no name brand. I also did not like the separate charging pod which you need to clamp on piggy back style on the controls area of the headphone to be able to charge it. One more little piece to get lost and the headphones would be useless because you would not be able to charge them. The SUB charging chord only fits in this piece. Additionally, you have very careful about the alignment of this piece with the mating part on the headphones. In one instance these were slightly misaligned as I attempted to charge in my car using car's front port. There probably was some sort of short due to misalignment which caused the fuse to blow for that in the car. Now that charging port does not work until I replace or reset the fuse. Luckily, I have another port in the car's center console between the seats that still works. From this point on, I charge this charging piece separately and when it us fully charged I then piggyback it on to the headphone and charge the head phones. Kind of an hassle. Also the headphone battery has only half the capacity without this piece piggybacking (about 3 to 4 hours). With this piece on it doubles but then it becomes heavy and tend to pull the headphone connecting chord on one side.
