I like these a lot better than my Beats 2 buds. The ear hook on the Beats hurt my ears. These are more comfortable. I like the clip to shorten the cord behind my head. I love the app and ability to control EQ. I wish the battery lasted longer. I got these on Black Friday special, so I can’t complain.

I've been looking for something lightweight, but heavy on sound quality. These ear buds seem to hit the mark in many ways. They are comfortable to wear (Unlike the Jaybird 2's) they reproduce sound with great accuracy and have enough adjustments to make it easy to find a sound you like

Excellent price point for what you get. Easy to use. They stay in your ears! Only peeve is that the (relatively light weight) battery/control unit is off center to the right and tugs a bit more on your right ear, but does not diminish the quality of sound or the enjoyment of the set.

Pros: Great sound, comfortable, so light you can't tell they're there, multiple wearer configurations. customize EQ curve via mobile app Cons: Poor longevity, Poor range, external charger/battery pack compromises durability; Jaybird Support fails to meet basic service standards Used for: 4-6 days a week (est. 10 hrs/week/total) at indoor gym, moderate sweating, moderate movement. I purchased the Freedom F5's after my X2's failed after 7 months of near-daily use at the gym. I loved my X2's sound quality, especially from a bud-type earphone. After 7 months of use, the left bud stopped producing sound. The Freedom's had just released , so I picked up a pair. Fit and feel was much better and lighter weight- You can't even feel this things they feel so good. Sound quality was par with the X2's, and the ability to control the EQ curve via the Jaybird App was an awesome feature. I had connection quality issues from the get-go where the sound would cut in and out unless the mobile device was withing 1-2 ft and in a plain line of sight of the Freedoms. This was tested in multiple environments with multiple devices. After about 80 days of use, the phones started malfunctioning and randomly shutting off without notifying me via the verbal message. This was also coupled with popping noising when attempting to power the device back on. After 2 phone calls to Jaybird Support, a factory reset, and other troubleshooting steps, they stated they would authorize a replacement and send a shipping label for device return. After 5 working days, I received an email stating they would send me a replacement product pending a photo showing my case number and the cord cut to verify the headphones useless. After this was done, 10 days went by and I did not receive a response from Jaybird's support. I attempted to use their chat service where it would disconnect due to their reps not responding in a timely manner/ SLA. I called in and was on hold for 28 minutes before talking to a rep who could not locate my case or provide any updates- they finally made an excuse their "systems must be down" and would get back to me when they could. It has been 3 weeks and I still have not received a replacement or updates from Jaybird Support.

This is by far the most comfortable earpiece I’ve tried. If you’d like to go outside and be active while listening to music, do try this Jaybird Freedom. If jaybird can produce one with a bit longer battery life, I’d buy another one ina heart beat.!! It has gotten me through roughly 4 hours of playing music, and with a charging pack attached, I get 6-8 hours. I want one that can play about 6 hours without a charge pack.

Was looking for a headset to fit in my helmet and this seemed like a good fit, and it was the best option available. I liked how it fit but the only thing that i didnt like was that the battery is only 4 hours. The packaging is somewhat miss leading saying it can do 8 hours but only with the battery pack it comes with. The headset has plenty fitting for all types of ear sizes so it should work for everyone.

Good, but not as good as the X3's

I got these on sale as backup for my X3's and overall they're good. Sound: The sound on all the Jaybird stuff I've had is fantastic and this one is no exception. No distortion at high volumes and full rich tone. I'm no audiophile, but I'm pickier than most and they're awesome. Fit: This is where they fall down a little bit. The controls contain the battery so it's heavy and it bothers me UNLESS I wear them over the ear and with the ear fins. With a little trial and error, you'll get a good fit. I also don't like the round wire (X3's have a flat wire and it's great) as it twists and stays twisted too easily. You can work it back to not, but if I had paid full retail for this, I'd be upset. Battery/Connection: The battery is average (4hrs-ish) and the signal stability is ok. I don't lose signal unless I have the phone on the opposite side of my body which is normal for me. I don't think it's normal for most people, but I figured I should just throw it out there. If anyone has any other questions, feel free to comment and ask. Actual reviews are the best source for making purchase decisions.

I was looking for something I could use running trails. My keys were 1) comfortable...love the ear inserts 2) reasonable price 3)sound quality and 4)bluetooth. Love these right out of the box and the charging unit gives you an extra charge when out running.

I actually like this brand a lot. I've bought their higher end model in the past. The previous one, I didn't like so much because of the cost and it was easy to lose. If fell out of my ear and it didn't have a clip to attach to your clothing. This version I bought for $50 on sale. Well worth it. It has a clip so you can attach it to your clothes and securely fastens into your ear. Much better.

    Smallest, Lightest Wireless Buds Ever

Insanely small and super comfortable. The MySound App is awesome – I now get the bass I want! The battery is interesting. With the mobile charging clip I never run out of juice. I was recently on an 8 hour flight and I got 5+ hours of play time from my Freedoms, and then I popped on the charging clip and got another 4+ hours while still listening. Love the listen-while-you charge thing!

These headphones are not loud enough. I wear these to the gym and I keep hitting the volume up button only to hear it beep at max volume. I have yet to lose connection or have any problems with bluetooth. The fit is great in the ear, but the battery/mic pack drags the cord to the right side. If you turn your head with the cord like this, it will tug the headphone out of your left ear. The most disappointing aspect is the Battery Life. You may get about 2 hours at full volume. It says 8 hours, but that is with a bulky battery pack that you have to clip to the wire... Makes it heavy and looks dumb. And I assume that is at their minimal performance settings. I am returning and looking for something better.

Bought for my son, he lost his last earbuds at college, and he loves these! They fit him well, he loves the sound, and he FaceTimed me from a store while buying Christmas presents while using these and the mic worked very well. There was no distortion on my end. Cannot speak to how they will hold up over time, we did buy the Best Buy protection just in case. So far they are great!

Battery life on the box is a little misleading as it states 8 hrs, but it’s really 4 with another 4 from the extra battery pack/charger. The fit is good once you figure it out, it I’m still struggling with the above ear fit, but below ear works well and you care barely tell they are in. The fit is good and the sound isolation is pretty good. The app works well at EQ settings.

I wanted to keep these, but because of the very poor battery life I am returning them. They barely last an hour before the voice starts telling me “battery low” and then shuts off altogether. My husband just got some BeatsX and they last a lot longer. I think the Sound and comfort of these Jaybirds are a tad better than the BeatsX, but I would still choose the BeatsX due to the battery life. I bought Apple AirPods to replace these Jaybirds. The battery life is excellent and I can highly recommend them. The other issue you may want to consider with these Jaybirds is the proprietary charging cable. If you lose it you at SOL. I looked online and they are all sold out. So if you lose you charging cord you can’t use your headphones. Either th BeatsX or AirPods are better in this respect, as they just use a regular Lightning cable.

I also own the Jaybird X2 headphones, but I could never find a good fit for my ears. There was a great sale on the Freedoms over the Christmas holidays, so I thought I'd give them a try. Very glad I did. I found a good fit for my ears and because of this I get better bass than I did with the X2. I also enjoy using the app and being able to adjust the sound to my liking. I like that the Freedoms have a cleaner look to them. I never liked that the X2 headphones stuck out from my ears. The battery does seem to drain quickly, but it serves my purpose for the gym.

I'm getting these for my daughter's Christmas present. I've been using a pair of my own for almost a year. These are my daily driver headphones. I'm no audiophile but I love the sound provided. They even have a clip that I can attach the set to my collar so they don't fall off when I'm not listening to music or podcasts. Highly recommend these to a friend or foe.
