A lot of my friends and family have off brand sound bars which they purchased for around $60-80. When I purchased the JBL bar it was about $250 - other than good bass (due to the subwoofer), the quality of the speakers seem to be either way too loud and distorted or way too low. It is not user friendly with trying to adjust settings and the presets don't seem to make anything better. The remote may be the biggest downfall of all. It's so small that it gets lost easily and has no lights or glow in the dark buttons, making it very difficult to adjust volume if the lights are low for a movie showing. I have not had this sound bar two years and am already looking for another one. I'm debating whether or not I should even keep it to use for a bedroom TV or just get rid of it.

Remote is so small we keep touching more than one selection. Too many functions to turn TV volume off, set "unknown level" of volume on this remote, hoping to push only one correct button! Too many extra control functions to perform.

The sub-woofer also is okay but not great. Would like to be able to have more adjustment to increase sub levels. I previously had a receiver/amp with surround and a larger sub-woofer so I guess I am spoiled.. Even though I will click on "recommend" I would advise to shop and compare first.
