Ive been a clip fan since the first generation. My clip 2 has remained my shower speaker for 6 years and it has served me well. Recently the battery stipped holding a charge so I took the opportunity to upgrade. At fifty dollars this speaker is really solid, however at full orice I just dont see its worth. Its loud and articulate. Bass is semi present up to around 40%. Its a small speaker so you cannot expect much but at full price it would be a hard sell. Mids sound great but its the highs I have a problem with. There is a large bump at 4k and it almost gets ear peircing as you increase the volume. Sadly it just gets worse as you increase the volume and the low end completely disolves at around 60% volume. Music can almost be jarring but I do find the sound profile excellent for vocal driven tasks like podcasts and audio books or youtube. Past that the soeaker lives its best life at around 40% volume which is great for my use. Pluses are the soeaker gets really loud, battery life is excellent, and the clip on the unit is class leading. Installs on bike handles, shower hooks, belt loops, and backpacks with ease. If this is your only speaker purchase or your first run into bluetooth speakers, you might consider upgrading to a flip. Its really night and day difference in both clarity and low end as well as plesant listening. Side note do some shopping as the flip 5 can be found on deep discounts for as low as the clip 5 (at full price) and the experience is far better.

I love my new JBL Clip 5! The sound is surprisingly loud and clear for its size, with good bass and crisp vocals. The built-in clip makes it super convenient for hikes, bike rides, or travel, and the waterproof design means I can use it anywhere without worry. Battery life easily lasts all day, and Bluetooth connection is fast and stable. Highly recommend for anyone who wants portable music without sacrificing quality!

This is a really great speaker in general, but it’s excellent for those with an active lifestyle. It has a clip so you can carry it wherever you go, it’s water and dust proof so it’s great by the pool or beach, and it doesn’t weight much. It has a surprisingly great and loud, clear sound. And it also looks nice and comes in several colors and has an available app to adjust the equalizer to your preferred sound/genre of music. It also make a good shower speaker as well. For all the features and quality of sound, it’s a very fair price. I also like that it’s for large and intuitive buttons on it for volume and such. Also has a great 12 hour battery life. It was a Christmas gift for my bf whose old speaker was worn out and died quickly for when we went to the beach, as we live on the ocean front so we go out for walks or sunbathing daily and he’s always bring his old one and it’s die so quickly. Plus it had to be stashed into a pocket on his backpack. But this is perfect. He loved it and so do I.

Bought this for my cross country road trip from Portland Oregon to Orlando Florida. My car speakers don't work and let me tell you I am glad they don't. This speaker is small, but packs a punch. Battery would last all day driving from 8-11 hours. I would charge it over night and we would be good to go next day. The max volume is honestly too loud that we wouldn't even need to use it at full volume. The quality is also very good so it doesn't make the music or videos sound bad.

This is a great little speaker. I've used it a lot already and works great. I like that it picks up the bluetooth real quick. My old UE Boom speaker took longer. The sound is good and has a nice full body with plenty of bass for its size. And good volume too. I use it while doing construction work and can hear it over tools and other equipment running. Battery life is good. I don't keep a clock on it, but it seems like it lasts all day. At least it does now, we'll see if does the same a year from now. The clip comes in handy too. In fact, it works better on the clip because of the strong base, if it is sitting on something loose, it will cause that to rattle a bit and interfere with the sound

I purchased this jbl speaker, quite frankly, because I had a gift certificate and couldn't think of anything else. I wasn't that impressed with it at the store, but decided to give it a try at home, and OMG, this little guy ROCKS. I clip it in the shower, and it can get so loud, my wife has to yell at me to turn it down - & that is the perfect volume. I also have not had to recharge the speaker while using it for 2 months. What a great surprise.

Perfect for on the go music. Just went on a 3 day ski trip and had this thing clipped to my belt loop the whole time. Light enough to keep on you and not know it's there. Sounds great and lasts forever. Can't wait to take it to the golf course.

Amazing sound quality, I use it at work and have not had a problem with it even if it gets water on it or just it does not affect it’s quality and the battery life is amazing

For the price point, this Clip5 speaker works great. The sound quality is doable and easy set up to pair with iPhone. The quality of sound, to me is a comparative. It beats the speaker system of my laptop. It helps amplify the sound from devices but if the sender has poor quality output, don't expect miracles. I like that I can clip to my bike when I ride on trails and that it is dust proof and waterproof. Simple volume buttons. Doubt if I'll ever use the Auracast feature. Claims 12 hour play, but I haven't kept track. I know it does play for hours before recharge. All in all, a great speaker. I was hooked on portable speakers when a family member gifted me with anther brand. So, I had to purchase another for when I'm on the go with my phone. Glad I did.

Great sound in the shower, and the water resistant works as advertised. Battery life is good. Works well at the pool or hooked on a backpack hiking. Can pair with other JBL speakers to boost the sound, but it does great on its own.

Fanstastic sound, easy to use and pair to another speaker. Utilized during a golf tournament and 1 of the carts went back the length of an entire hole and still had crystal clear sound even though the "master speaker" and my phone playing spotify were with me. The built in carabeener is perfect for hanging on a golf bag or cart or up out of the way.

An absolutely great little speaker to take around wherever you may go. I have almost every variant of the JBL portable speakers and I needed a little one for on the go or just quick usage. My advice is to download the JBL Portable App so you can go into the setting and set up the Custom equalizer. I prefer Bass all the way and Treble all the way and mid-range to be neutral or a little bit lower. It really makes the sound pop and takes away any muddiness from the mids. This thing lasts a long time and great for people who want to listen to some music while working on their cars, bike riding, hiking, golfing, etc. It is not a JBL BoomBox3, but it still has great sound and will fill an area.

I have owned one of these little speakers for 6 years now and it still sounds great and the battery last for days. The new one looks great and I'm looking forward to using this speaker another 6 years or longer

I had the Clip 4 and upgraded to the Clip 5. The sound acoustics are better - but not enough to justify IMO the upgrade. I gifted the Clip 4 and then realized I was missing not having it when outside in the backyard. The Clip 4 had been outside for over a year and only brought it inside for charging. With the heat and rain four over a year, it never stopped working. Most people thought the speaker sounded great for its size and I have to agree. The Clip 5 now comes with an App which allows the unit to be EQed (albeit slightly due to its size) which is a plus over the Clip 4. Bottom line: For a speaker in this price range, I can highly recommend it. PS. I also recently purchased the JBL Go 4 and it’s a very nice speaker too. The Clip 5 sounds better - but the value of the Go 4 can not be beat. JBL has been in the portable speaker market for years now and these small speakers are a testament to their success.

I bought the JBL Clip 5 for my son. The sound quality is incredible for such a compact speaker, and the buil-in clip make it super convenient to take where.The battery life is impressive and it's waterproof. It's a good gift ,I recommend it.

Bought this for something portable that I could keep in my bag for those times where I want to jam out on more than my phone! Audio quality is average nothing to rave about battery life is great and it’s water resistant!

Great sound and loud for such a little speaker. Survived short water submerge and splashes. Fun to connect with other clips. I take mine everywhere; bike rides, paddle boarding. Survives all the adventures. One thing is JBL label is coming off already but has been out in heat.
