Good, but...

They sound good and stay in the ear while working out. However, they turn on by themselves a lot and the battery will wear down when you're not even using them. The controls are also very touchy. When trying to adjust the volume, they will cause music to skip to the next track instead. I'm still glad I own them but, for the price, I wish they worked a little better.

These headphones look sturdy and seem like a steal at $50, but they don't live up to the (oximoronic) name. Both while I bike and run, the sound cuts in and out. The touch panel is way too sensitive and completely unnecessary if you think about it. I'm not banging my head into things--just include buttons! I love JBL products and the sound is great, but I hazard they modeled these on runners but only field tested them on couch potatoes.

These earbuds are totally disappointing. The sound quality is awful. No bass, sounds like a tin can (even with the bass booster equalizer turned on in my i-pod). Very low volume, I have the volume of my i-pod and the earbuds set to maximum and it is about as loud as other earbuds that I have owned set to half volume. Finally, the capacitive touch control button will accidentally pause the music or turn the earbuds off if you try to adjust the fitting of the right earbud.

My most expensive headphones to date, and they do not disappoint. I use these for indoor bike training, as well as communication with business/employees and I view headphones as something I will eventually sweat out, accidently destroy, or break. Build quality very nice. Take a little time to become familiar with controls, they work well when you understand them. Music and conversations that I hear sound great. When I talk it is in a modest sound environment (fan running with back round noise) and no one complains, nor do I have to repeat myself.

Kept going to sleep during my MS Teams meeting

Good sound quality but a high learner's curve on how to actually use something that shouldn't be that hard to use (I didn't realize how underrated a good button was -- how do you find the sensor when you're reaching blindly??) Although it was playing my MS Teams video call in the headphones, for some reason it didn't register as playing audio with the device and thus went into sleep mode/turned off every 5 minutes. I would only recommend these if you're tech savvy and plan on using them just for music, not for meetings or phone calls.

I really wanted to love these. JBL has never let me down before. They sounded great when I put them on. However, after a few minutes of walking they became annoying loose no matter what I did to make them stay on. Also, as other reviews have mentioned the controls on these are terrible. The control design team should be fired or at least have a mandatory drug test. I had them a whole thirty minutes before deciding these earbuds would eventually tick me off so much I would throw them down and stomp on them then hang them up for target practice. So back to Best Buy they went.

Worked great at first...

So I bought these headphones on November of 2018 and I use them everyday for work. Usually in the morning between 6am-9am. I would charge them in my car on the way to work and would give me a good enough charge to last those 3 hours of work. But as the time has passed, the quality of the headphones deteriorates quickly. The right side of the headphones were losing sound after a while to where it doesn't have any sound anymore. And now the left headphone is also losing sound. I like JBL products and still using their Pulse 2 for the truck to listen to as I drive around or for small parties outdoors. But given the life of these headphones, less than a year of everyday use, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Yeah they are "cheap" as far as price goes but expected them to last longer than they have.

Overall, decent quality. I don’t like the bulky feeling on my ears though. I can’t do typical ear buds so I thought these would work. So so…

Worthy to be a back up pair

Disappointing product from JBL. Caught them on sale for 19.99. I thought I was getting a deal but that should be regular price for them.
The good: price, the ear tips, sweat proof while running daily, twistlock technology to hold on ears
The bad: Touch button command is useless because of its sensitivity , sound quality is not there for listening to music (if you listen to books or pod cast then the sound might work),
I will keep them in a drawn for a backup pair.

Terrible for winter running

Tried it for one run. At my hydration stop, I took out the buds so I could talk. When I turned them back on and put my stocking cap back on they kept turning off. It appeared that they were registering the movement of the stocking cap as a touch on the control panel. After several minutes and many tries I was finally able to keep them playing. I couldn't return them fast enough. On a positive note, they do sound good.

Volume control doesn't work

Got home a few minutes ago. Pairing was a snap. Sound was OK, if a little tinny. The right-side control piece, however, is terrible. It's hyper sensitive and therefore impossible to change the volume using the swipe motion as directed without pausing, changing the track or shutting off. Will be taking this back tomorrow for a set with a more conventional switch on the wire.

Not water proof, let alone sweat proof. Waste of $

I really wanted to like these. I am an avid runner here in hot and humid Houston, Texas so I sweat A LOT. I read about the touchy controls so I knew that was something I was going to have to deal with, but my main concern was the level of waterproofing. These boast an IPX7 water proof rating so I had extremely high hopes. I've had these for LESS THAN A WEEK and already on my second run, I have experienced sound loss in both ear buds with a now permanent muffled sound in the left bud. The overall design is also awkward, touchy controls that will sometimes do what they want to do and while they haven't fallen out of my ear, they always feel like they are about to which makes me feel the constant need to adjust. Save yourself the money and get an off brand. My last off brand pair was only an IPX5, $20 and lasted a little over a year.

Underwhelming sound for JBL

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Sound: Sounds promising with the signature JBL startup sound, then go thru your playlist & realize this is a $20 headphone sound. Hardly any bass and subtle mids.
Fit: Fits comfortably in the ears.
Neck hang: Wire is too short for neck hang. One side or the other usually slips off ur shoulders.

Sound got lower after 2 weeks

I’ve had these headphones for about a month. Loved them at first, but after 2 weeks the sound volume is very low. If I turn it down halfway there’s no sound at all!
It’s also annoying the power and pause button is on the ear piece. I hit it by accident all the time and it’s frustrating.

Unfortunately, I can’t rate the performance of the item. All I can say is that they are designed for someone with medium to large ears. I am 5’2” and found these to just fall off my ears no matter how I tried to adjust them.
