    Outstanding Wireless Headphones

I am extremely pleased with my JBL Everest Elite 300 wireless headphone purchase. It provides great, crisp sound quality, with comfortably cushioned ear-cups and ambient aware noise reduction. It should be noted that a Best Buy sales associate had me compare these headphones with Sony, Beats and two other brands. JBL won hands down! An exceptional and affordable purchase. Obviously, I fully recommend these JBL Everest Elite 300 headphones.

Great headphones with a great middle sound

These headphones sound great for the price! i tried the more expensive Beats Solo and they were uncomfortable. These, even with eyeglasses are comfortable for 2 hours(maybe just because I have thin glasses)! I tried the Sony headphones and all of the ones they have on display are bass only, so it was hard to hear the vocals and treble. Beats seemed like they either had too little bass or the music was going through an equalizer on the display unit (precisely why they dont let you plug in your own phone music). the bose were great but out of budget. it all narrows down to the 300 series, which are great!

    Lag with video/Outdated Firmware

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The current firmware version for the headphones is 5.4, however, mine has 4.0. The JBL support site mentions that if you have version 4.x, you need to tether the headphones to a computer with a microUSB cable and do an initial update to 5.4, after which future updates will happen wirelessly via the iOS/Android app. The firmware download link lands on a page that says 'no updates available'. It isn't yet possible to download a current version of the firmware. A huge issue with version 4.x firmware at which if you watch video it lags. JBL support (from overseas I assume!) after 1 hour hold are clueless and useless. Sound quality for music is pretty decent.

JBL has now optimized the software, so the lip-sync problem is no longer an issue. Video materials can now be watched with proper audio timing.

I would definitely recommend these headphones to anybody who wants a superb sound. A big plus, it comes with a app that you can download and use a equalizer and control the noise cancellation!

    Bluetooth Lag

    Posted .

These headphones are very comfortable and the sound quality is great. I would recommend them EXCEPT the bluetooth audio lag is terrible on both my PC and my smartphone. If you're just listening to music, it's not a big deal, but it's awful for watching video. The time between seeing people's mouths move to when I hear the dialogue drives me crazy. The lag is eliminated when you plug the headphones in and they do come with a 3.5 mm cable, but it's really too short in my opinion to do me much good. I'll probably buy a longer one at some point, but for the price of these headphones, I feel like such a major flaw is inexcusable.

    Good but Not User-Friendly

    Posted .

Pros: Good noise cancellation, good sound quality Cons: 1) Manual is useless. Some of how the headphones function is really obscure and a good manual would have made it a lot easier to learn. Unfortunately, the manual is horrid. 2) The developers assume you have a smartphone that is Bluetooth compatible with the headphones. If not, you cannot access the app, so the amount of functionality you get from the headphones is lessened. 3) The microphone does not seem to activate when you are plugged into a Bluetooth-incompatible computer by either the aux cable or the usb. This sucks when your computer does not support Bluetooth. 4) The 300 hurts my ears after about 15-20 minutes of using it because it is pressing in so tightly (especially since I wear glasses). I may upgrade to the 700 that has bigger ear-buds, but that is extra money. 5) Overly complicated. The functions of the buttons on the ear-buds change depending on the circumstance or how long the button is pressed. Again, a good manual would have helped with this. 6) Kind of repeating 2, but I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A. This is my only means of accessing the JBL app. Unfortunately, the headphones and it are not Bluetooth compatible. A good list of what is or is not Bluetooth compatible with the headphones would be nice. 7) Why the JBL app is available only on android and ios is beyond me. Biggest design flaw with it, imo. They are cutting off a good chunk of customers. In short, I would recommend these headphones only to people who are patient enough to learn how to use them with a terrible manual and who already have technology they know is Bluetooth compatible with it. I cannot speak for the app because I cannot access it due to reason 6 and 7.

I got these and am very happy with the sound. They have excellent sound at the low, midrange, and high with the music that I listen to. The controls are simple and easy to use. The only thing that may be problematic is for Windows users to update the firmware for the first time. If you have a Mac not a problem as there is a firmware updates program on JBL's site for OSX. For Windows, I was not able to find one and had to wait until I got home to update the firmware.

!JBL by Harman never ceases to amaze me. They bring sound and music to a whole new level. I've been eyeing the Elite 300's for a while now, and they are everything I hoped for and more. They are a beautiful piece of work, and my favorite part was unboxing it! The only problem I have with them is the pressure on my eardrums whilst traveling. It's an easy fix to resituate, but I would not suggest them if you are changing altitude a lot. Thanks!

I purchased these headphones for work. They have great sound and work really well for what we need; however, they were hard to set up with the computer we were using. We had to call the company to get help with the drivers and it still took us 2 hours plus. Once we got them set up, they worked great.

I will say it did sound somewhat good but not for the price. if they were $99 maybe. I returned them the same day and bought different headphones. I gave them a chance, I tried different types of music and EQ setting and they were just not worth it!

I really wanted to like these JBL Everest 300 Elite. To me they sound nice and you have the option to use the EQ to your desired sound. Noise cancellation works but it´s not the best. However there are some things that prevent me to recommend them: 1. Battery last 7 hours with bluetooth and anc on. I don´t know if mine has a defective battery or this is normal on others as well, but certainly I don´t reach the 10 hours that I should according to specs. 2. ANC defaults to ON. In my case, I don´t generally need ANC. I wanted to have this feature for my travelling, but on daily use in my office, I´m OK without ANC. Whenever you turn them on, this is automatically turned on. 3. Comfort. This is my first experience with an on ear headphone. My ears get very uncomfortable after an hour of use. Yes, they are very well padded, but somehow they fail. Maybe I should have bought the Everest 700 that are over ear. It is worth mentioning that I contacted JBL Customer Service and offered me an exchange because of the battery issue, but that means sending my pair and wait days untill getting the replacement, which I use daily even considering the above issues.

app is annoying. stylish look, plastic snapped a year later. Hoping they will repair. They are cool headphones but this will determine the final review. Hope we're not just paying the high pricetag for all that marketing.
