Great concept but lacks power, left earbud often disconnects and still trying to get a fit that would work through a brisk walk or workout

The packaging for the JBL Free headphones was well done however some of the smaller boxes inside were a bit difficult to open.
The instructions were provided in many languages however the print was extremely small and difficult to read without a magnifying glass or readers and the layout was confusing. Rather than having all one language, they were by topics so you had to shuffle through each section to find your corresponding language and the information was very pictorial and very cryptic.
The box contains the earbuds, a charging case, 3 sizes of ear cushions, two ear covers and a charging cable.
I placed the buds in the charging case where they are held in place with magnets to keep contact to the case and plugged the case in to the charger. It took about 45 minutes to fully charge the case and buds.
Pairing the buds is easy, you begin by removing the right bud, it immediately goes into pairing mode. When you have it paired, take the left bud out of the case and it pairs automatically with the right one.
Each bud has a touch button that covers music handling. The right bud does play/pause and answer and the left bud does forward and back.
I got the buds inserted in my ears and with the right combination of tips and covers, they feel solid and I have no fear of one falling out. It does seem for my ears, it’s a bit easier to get them seated by using an upward twisting motion while inserting them.
Now the reason you buy headphones is for the sound. I will say right away, if you are a bass freak, do not buy these ear buds! I was very disappointed with the sound these earbuds produce, especially from a company like JBL/Harmon. The sound to me was flat and uninspiring, reminding me of AM radio from my childhood. I listen to podcasts and they seem fine for that but when you want a kick from a loud thumping track to get you to the next level, well, this is just not it. Also, these do not have their own volume control, you have to use your phone/device making them a bit more inconvenient if you are using them in a gym and want to keep your phone in one place.
The battery life is pretty decent and when you use the case, they will always stay charged as charging begins as soon as you put them in it assuming the case is charged. The case smiles at you with the buds are charging.
The Bluetooth connection seems strong and stable however, I experience the left bud dropping out pretty regularly. Not sure if this is due to my environment (crowded subway car) while using or the design of the buds.
When making/taking phone calls, the buds go into mono mode for a more realistic feeling conversation. I had no trouble hearing the call and they had no trouble hearing me.
Overall I have to say I am disappointed with the JBL Free wireless headphones and can not recommend them to a friend.
For the audio pioneer JBL claims to be, they missed on this one.

I've purchased JBL products before and have been satisfied, so I gave these a whirl. I also own a pair of Samsung Icon-X ear buds but battery life in the first series was not that great. These have been giving me twice the life for half the price. They so seem to lag with video on my Surface Pro though.

Ear buds do everything I need them too. I sync them to my Garmin 645 when I’m working out and it usually works without issue. Sometimes the Bluetooth connection between both earpieces goes out but it’s rare.

Simply OK

I don't know if I was spoiled by other wire free headphones, but there are only OK. Positives first, and then I'll give the one big negative that makes me call them only average.
They're very comfortable. I almost can't tell that they're there. They fit great and have plenty of extra parts if the standard one is too big or small for your ears. The battery life is good. Pairing was simple, but be warned to follow the instructions and take the right one out first and then the left. When I take both out at once, the left one doesn't always connect with the right and I end up having to do it manually.
Biggest gripe, and the most important thing for headphones, the sound. Very clear, but no bass whatsoever. There's just no depth to the music.
I have a pair of Bose Soundsports and the sound from there is insanely good for wireless earbuds. Comparatively, these JBL's do not sound anywhere as good. But I would say that they are actually more comfortable.
I actually like the headphones in a lot of ways. The comfort, etc. But for the money the sound is not worth it to me.
