Don’t Believe Reviews

This JBL speaker was a complete waste of money. Sure, it is on the cheap end $ wise but I also don’t want to spend a ton on a speaker when speakers aren’t anything new in the device world. Keep in mind that I’ve owned some great JBL speakers.
This little thing doesn’t produce near the volume nor the equalized sound I expected from JBL, especially, and wondering, with the rave reviews here. I didn’t near get what these reviewers claim.
The bass is overkill and the battery life well less than what’s raved about. I have to plug this thing in almost daily when my last JBL needed charging maybe once a month.
I should have spent the extra $100. But I have bills to pay.

I don’t know why this thing is rated high; it has absolutely ZERO bass. I wish I could return and exchange it for a different portable speaker but apparently this one had a narrow return window. I didn’t realize some items from Best Buy have different return windows; now I know. I regret this purchase.
Thanks for your feedback on our JBL Go 4. To isolate the issue, please check the Equalizer (EQ) settings. If it is off, try turning it on and adjust the bass a little bit. If not, please turn it off. We also recommend connecting your headphones to another source device to know if it is a problem with the device. If you need more help, please contact us.

I really liked this speaker BUT after just 4 months it started to crackle, randomly, and made it very hard to listen. I have another one that’s been going good for years.

Best Buy delivery is useless / Service nonexistent

Best Buy delivery is useless and their customer service is nonexistent. Stick with Amazon.
Ordered 5 of these as Christmas presents. Best Buy used OnTrac for delivery. Twice I got texts from OnTrac saying they "attempted to deliver the items but nobody was home." I was home both times and security cameras showed they never came. Basically they were just busy before Xmass and lied.
I called Best Buy (somewhere in the Philippines) and cancelled the order and got a case number. They delivered it anyway several days later and still charged me.
Thank you for your feedback! If your JBL Go 4 won't connect to Zoom, please ensure that the audio output settings in Zoom are set to JBL Go 4. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact our customer support.

Brand response from JBL Support

Thanks for your feedback. Our JBL Go 4 has up to 7 hours of battery life plus 2 hours with playtime boost. This may vary depending on volume and music content. If the speaker doesn't meet the advertised playtime hours even at low to mid-volume levels, there could be a problem with the battery of the unit. Please contact our Customer Support, so we can assist you.

Loud, portable, great sound. I bought 2 to use in stereo mode, and they sound amazing, would recommend as a gift, or as a speaker to bring on trips.

This speaker is great. It's perfect for travel and even for a round of golf. At $50, it’s hard to argue that it’s not a great deal. My only minor gripe is the Auracast vs. PartyBoost feature. While I don’t need it to connect with other speakers, it would have been a nice addition. Overall, it’s a solid purchase for a travel-size, high-quality speaker.

I read many reviews before purchasing this speaker because I already have the JBL Go 3. Many of the reviews say that it is definitely worth the upgrade going from the JBL Go 3 to the JBL Go 4. I personally do not think it is worth it. Although the speaker has a nice look and design to it and it has an app to make some adjustments to the sound I do not think the sound quality is that much of a noticeable difference from the 3 to the 4. The portability of the speaker is nice as it can easily be clipped to a backpack or put inside a purse. Sound quality is decent and if you don't own any of the Go series speakers then this may be worth it for you but I do not think there is much improvement from the 3 to the 4 and I would not recommend it you are looking to upgrade.
