Great sound for the size although it is very heavy to carry with you all the time

The JBL speaker mod sounds very very nice compared to the standard speaker the phone comes with, and even nicer than most mid range Bluetooth speakers, however $70 bucks for a mod that is only going to be usable on moto z phones is kinda of up to each buyer and how much they like the phone. Personally my Z2 Play is amazing so I may make a mod buy or two in the future

Purchased this for my teenage daughter. She loves it and carries it with her to college.

Good added sound, does add a lot of weight and bulk to the phone however.

Unbelievable device. It form fits my Moto Z Droid. Could not live without it. It is specifically designed for this phone. The magnetic fit makes it go on perfectly fit every time with camera opening intact. I did my research and everything said is true. Great crisp sound!

I enjoy this Moto Mod. The speaker has a great sound and decent volume.

I just purchased my Moto Droid Z Force today & JBL Sound Boost Moto Mod was free. I was skeptical if such a small speaker would have good sound, well was I wrong? Heck Yea! This thing ROCKS! This was the best bonus for my new phone! Now I want to get the projector!

Good Portable Solution for listening to music. Very compact system

The JBL SoundBoost sounds great, and installation is as easy as putting on the back cover. The magnet holds it tight. Sounds *much* better than most small Bluetooth speakers, and for me (I travel a lot) packs much easier. If, though, you'd want to connect to multiple devices, this would not be a good choice, as it's only use is with the Moto Z Play.

Bought this speeker on sale when purchased phone. Good sound for its size. It's a pain to take on and off. I seem to get some kind of notice on phone screen not to slide it off. I really don't need my phone acting like a parent tell me what to do. It makes phone big and bulky to leave on full time. Nice to use when sitting out on the patio.

It improves the sound but I expected much more power.

I got this free with the phone; I haven't used it much. But it seems like a fun add-on. Glad that Motorola will make future phones work with this and the battery pack. Downside, it won't work with a case, but not a huge deal. Not sure I'd pay $80 for it...

The speaker doesn't get enough bass! I like the JBL line however this speaker doesn't give that bass I like to hear from the Bluetooth speakers already out there. This actually surprises me. Overall the sound is clear and it gets pretty loud, however the bass is what is missing.

Easy to attach, just like all moto mods. It has its own power source, you can charge it directly or attach to the phone to charge the mod while charging your phone. Great for blasting a little music when you don't have a sound system available but stinks for watching videos, the sound goes the wrong direction. All depends on what you need it for.

Great speaker for moto z cell phone. Plan on getting the camera next

My son's got this with their phones and love it. My oldest says "it's pretty cool" and the sound quality is good. Unfortunately, the case I bought them must be removed to use this mod.

I received this Mod with the purchase of my phone. It is a nice alternative to the built in speaker phone. The sound quality is just ok. It is fine to use in my office for a little background noise but it is no where near a HIFI experience. It does add a little bulk to the phone but it is manageable My main complaint is the placement of the charging port. It would be nice if they put the port on the side of the speaker rather then the back so you could have access to charge it while attached to the phone. I am sure they have a reason for where they put it. It would also be nice if there was a way to control the sound quality from the mod notification screen or an app that could fine tune the sound. .

I recently spent a night camping with 700 of my closest friends. Trying to get to sleep I turned on an Alarm Clock app with White Noise, and setup the JBL Moto Mod so I was able to drown out enough of the background noise to sleep soundly.

the speaker system came as a perk for buying the phone, have used it twice out in the yard for parties and people were impressed with the sound quality. both time is play on the average for 4 hours and it still was powerful. really like this

Given the size of the speaker, it puts out some pretty impressive sound. It's nice that you can charge it directly with a USB-C cable. It does add a bit of size and weight to the Moto Z phones, but it's worth it if you want good sound.
