The portability and battery life of the speaker is fantastic. I use this all the time just for the sound and convenience. It does risk being outdated as soon as you can't get the phone that supports it, but until then this is such a convenience and it doesn't kill the phone battery like bluetooth.

The sound quality is great for such a small speaker. This was a gift for my mom for her Moto phone, and she loves it.

I needed a new phone for a while. But at the end of the day mine did what I needed it to; social media, photos, and music. So it was hard to get excited about any of the phones out there. I am not a tech guy so it takes a bit to get me interested. Then the Moto Z came out. Different, big fan of different. But I am an AT&T user. So I couldn't get it. Then the unlocked came out. I bought it day one with ALL the mods. I use the extra battery every day. It is nice to go to work then come home and place the battery on a wireless charger and still have a fully charged phone in my hands. The speaker is awesome. I use it on my motorcycle. The projector is useful and fun. Sometimes I just lay in bed a project a show on the ceiling. The camera I have not used yet but I am excited about it. All that being said, my 15 year old asked for a new phone for Christmas. So I bought her the Moto Z play. You will not find a better $400 phone. All in all big fan. Functional, fun, well built, looks great. I will never buy a phone from a service provider again. Get the geek squad protection and enjoy owning your phone.

This is such a cool attachment this JBL speaker sounds great when watching videos and music and it's actually light weight doesn't weigh the phone down. I love the built in stand to let the phone sit straight when watching videos and the fact that it doesn't use my phone's battery!

There is is no question that this is a very cool option. It is really easy to use and the sound difference makes it worth having. One issue I have is its weight. If you carry your phone in your pocket, (like I do) its a problem. Also, I have to remove the phone case each time to attach it, this is not very convenient. While this is a hassle, I still think its worth having.

I honestly don't have any other portable speakers to really compare this to. However based on this speaker's performance alone, I have to say it works really well and has been a good purchase overall. The speaker couldn't be any easier to use. It attaches to the phone and is instantly connected. I believe there was a 1st time set up but it was so quick and easy I don't even remember what it was. You can take the speaker on and off at will without worrying about pairing it or anything like that. The back of the speaker has a USB type C charging port and a button you can press that lights up an LED to give you an idea of how much charge is in the speaker (it's green/yellow/red). When it's attached to the phone you can charge the speaker by plugging in your phone and both will charge at the same time. The phone will also show a dedicated battery gauge to show the charge level of the speaker. It's really convenient to have if you want to listen to music without carrying around a separate speaker. The sound quality is good considering the size of the unit. The kickstand on the back is also a nice touch. It does add a lot of bulk though so you probably wouldn't want to leave this on your phone while you use it throughout the day. Overall, I've been pretty happy with it.

This idea is genius. So many people use bluetooth speakers with their phones for music at home, work, ect. This cuts down the clutter greatly while having a simple connection method with a kickstand to position the phone to control everything easily. The large capacity battery is just as great an idea so you're not killing your phone battery while in use. I would've liked to hear it have a tad more output & more dynamic range but it's good to go for the price point. Sounds far better than cheapo speakers with the added benefits mentioned above & still well under $100 which is around the target area for a good sounding small speaker. Getting it for free with the phone from BB was icing on the cake but I'd have no issue paying for one.

This MotoMod packs pretty decent sound with good battery life for a small MotoMod. They have since released a newer version.

It's like a portable Bluetooth speaker built in, with a battery included.

The product sounds amazing and it holds a charge for the day. Only bad thing is how dirt gets trapped in the small holes.

Some people would argue that you could buy a Bluetooth wireless speaker instead of paying the same price for the price for this mod by Motorola/Lenovo. However an external speaker cannot beat the convenience that comes with being able to simply attach this speaker to your Moto Z series phone magnetically, and instantly blast, LOUD, great sounding music! Additionally the speaker houses its own battery which charges the smartphone while playing tunes, for up 10 hours. For the aforementioned 2 reasons alone, this Moto Mod is one of the best smartphone accessories you can buy. If you own a Moto Z and are considering buying the battery mod, buying the speaker provides you with 2 solid features for the same price. I really can not think of any way that this particular modular accessory could have been made better.

I bought the MOTO Z2 phone because of the mods it offers. I am very happy with the JBL speaker mod. It is perfect for when I want to listen to a song or two and not set up a bigger Bluetooth device. Plus it has it's own battery pack built in. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it is only 10W. They could have made it 20W which would have been better.
