The heart rate monitor would never register anything and the battery would last only 30-45 minutes on a good day.
Three months in the stopped working completely. I paid 200USD at the time for the headphones. Unfortunately i am out of the country until may and have been unable to return them to Best Buy.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. In order to ensure the best heart rate accuracy, it is important that you are using the proper size and the headphones securely fit in the ear. The size 7 enhancer is pre-installed on the headphones and 3 additional sizes (5, 6, 8) are available in the box. Often times the most accurate signal is achieved by using the largest size that fits comfortably in your ears. Once you’ve found the right size, it’s important to ensure that the enhancers are properly installed on the ear buds so that material is fully stretched over the bud and the window for the heart rate (HR) sensor is not covered. More helpful tips for getting the best results: -Insert the earphone into your ear so that the green heart rate sensor on the LEFT ear bud is fully hidden inside the ear (behind your tragus). -The ear loop should not be pushed backwards to align with arc of the ear perfectly; it is likely there will be negative space between the headphone loop and your ear. If you have other questions or concerns regarding our product, please send an e-mail to [email protected] and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

I purchased the UA heartrate headphones over Beats as i wanted another source for my heart rate. Well, the sound is not great at all and your lucky if you get a heart rate for more than 5 min! (And yes i tried all different size ear pieces)
I'm a HUGE fan of UA and that is why i bought them but they need work!

Very poor start to using them but now seem to be working ok. A lot of money and was hoping for better operation and tracking of data. Seems like sometimes they are able to gain workout data but sometimes they don't record not sure why

Overall these headphones are worth a look for those looking for a solid headphone built to hold up to a serious workout.
However, they might not be right for everyone and the price should be considered for the everyday user.
Pros:
- Well built to withstand a workout without falling out of place
- A wide variety of ear pieces that will provide a solid fit for most. Unfortunately I was not able to find one that fit me well, but I still appreciated the size variety. Also, they are well constructed and will not wear and inadvertently fall off like many headphones
- Heart beat sensor is a neat feautre, if you find a solid fit. Otherwise the incessant nagging to adjust your headphones gets annoying.
Cons:
- Call quality: the microphone placement can make it quite difficult for others to hear you
- Subpar battery life
- Average sound quality. Again, if you find a solid fit. Quickly leaves much to be desired if you don't find an earpiece that fills your ear.

I enjoy listening to music. I also enjoy doing my morning and evening laps while listening to my favorite music or listening to a podcast. We’ve all been there where we have tried to use the default ear plugs that come with our device (iPhone 7 in my case) and at some point, they fall out because they don’t fit our ear or because of the momentum that we are moving at.
Personally, I’ve never really had a good let alone great experiences with Bluetooth devices because there was usually ‘static’ or interference that would intrude on my phone call or the enjoyment of music.
The JBL- Under Armour Sport Heart Rate Wireless Headphones deliver an audio experience that I honestly thought was impossible from wireless headsets.
When you open the package, you're given the choice of FOUR enhancer covers (ear bud covers) instead of just two like other companies typically offer. I found my perfect fit and all I had to do next was pair the JBL headset with my iPhone 7 which took hardly any time and minimal time. The instructions regarding the heart rate sensor were easy to understand which allowed me to take to the streets with my running. Let me tell you, the audio quality is fantastic which I wasn’t expecting. I thought comfort would sacrifice audio quality but I was wrong. And not once did the ear buds slip or pop out. This is a far better experience compared to running with my wired headset which usually had my knee tugging the wire anytime that I had to bend down to tie my sneaker.
There was ABSOLUTELY NO STATIC or INTERFERENCE with the headset. Powering on the heart rate monitor is simply tapping the right ear bud and then waiting a few seconds. Your heart rate is told to you through the ear bud. I have to admit that this feature is an incentive to raising my heart rate during my laps and making better time.
The JBL headphones will also pair with Under Armour wristbands and also apps for your device that work in tandem so that you can keep track of past performances/workouts.
When it comes to being weatherproof, I can’t fully say with certainty how this headset holds up. The package states that these are built for the toughest workouts and are sweat proof. I’ve been in light rain with these and there hasn’t been an issue.
And of course, you can have normal phone calls through this headset. I’ve had several calls and the only issue was that sometimes the person on the other end couldn’t hear me clearly due to the mic picking up street traffic noise.
My only complaint is where the in-line control is placed on the wire itself. I would have preferred it to be closer to either the left or right earbud rather than the almost middle.
If you have had bad experiences with past Bluetooth headsets then I highly recommend you take control with the JBL Under Armour Wireless headset.

I've used a good number of headphones/earbuds over the years and one of my biggest complaints (particularly with the earbuds) is comfort. I have to say that these JBL-Under Armour headphones are surprisingly comfortable. Usually I start to get a bit of discomfort with this style of headphone within an hour of wearing them. Not so with these. I have worn them for several hours nonstop without an issue. In fact, you almost forget you are wearing them.
The sound quality is very nice. Personally I would like a little bit more bass but that can be boosted by the music player in most devices anyways. Music comes across very clean with nice highs and without the tinny sound that so many bud style headphones have. I've hooked them up to an iPhone, an iPad Pro and a Samsung S7 Edge phone. No issues with connections at all. In fact, the setup is very easy. Connecting to an incoming phone call is easy as well and works without issue.
I was a bit skeptical as to how well a heart rate monitor would work on a set of headphones but it seems to work just fine. You activate the heart rate by tapping the Under Armour logo on the right earbud. So far it has given me a reading every time without an issue. I've compared the readings with the readings from both my phone's built in heart rate monitor and also the one on a smart watch that I have. Numbers have been pretty consistent across the board with only a variance of a number or two.
The headphones come nicely packages with four different sized covers for the buds (sizes 5,6,7 & 8) so you can get just the right fit for your ears. Out of the box they come with the size 7 on them. I found size 7 way to big and ended up putting the smallest size (5) on them for a good fit. Honestly, I'm not sure who would need the largest two sizes but the fact that so many sizes are included is a big plus. A nice carrying case is included as well. Charging is by way of a micro-USB to USB cord that you will need to plug into a computer or a USB wall charger (not included). Battery life is rated for 5 hours and I think that is a bit conservative as I have had them going for longer than that.
If you are in the market for a set of headphones for active outdoor use or for in the gym I highly recommend them. If you are just looking for a good set of headphones but don't need them for outdoor use, working out or for the heart rate monitor then these might be a bit overkill for you. But regardless of how you use them, they work very well!

These JBL headphones are great for their intended purpose. They are meant for wearing during high activity actions. The headphones stayed on despite trying my best to knock them off my ears. They also have good sound.
The ear buds are a little larger than I anticipated, and I found it quite a pain to change the rubber ear buds. Also the volume seemed a little low to me but that could have been my device.
As long as you understand these are SPORT headphones they will be fine for you. These are not ear buds that you can just whip on and off. They are meant to stay on and as such require a bit more time putting them on your ear.

Absolutely loved the Headphones but only lasted two months before they completely died and would not turn on or charge any more. I currently am returning and per their site will likely need to wait 2+ weeks to get a replacement. If all goes well will update my review but as of now craftsmanship earns 1 star for getting me excited about a great product and then crushing me mid workout.

I was pretty excited to give these headphones a try. Up until now I've had your pretty run of the mill wired headphones, and even was recently using the plantronics backbeat fit headphones. They were all just ok. Either the cord got in the way or they were uncomfortable to wear, with just mediocre audio quality.
These Jbl UA headphones are actually quite nice. They seem to be made of rather high quality materials. The packaging is good, but the instructions are rather so-so. Nevertheless, they come with about 4 different size adjusters to make fitting a breeze for all. Connecting it to your phone is a piece of cake and they seem to do a good job at staying connected. Once fitted they don't move at all and stay right in your ear regardless of level of activity.
The sound quality is quite good and is just loud enough to drown out the terrible music they play at your gym. Battery life seems to be quite positive in that it will last a long time on a charge.
The heart rate monitor seems to be very accurate, much more so than some of my other fitness bands on my wrist. My only real complaint so far with regards to the heart rate monitor is that it seems to only connect to UA record. It advertises that it works with all the other UA apps like endomondo and myfitnesspal, but inside of those apps I'm not seeing a way to connect it as a hr source. I'm already using Microsoft Health, and have used Google Fit and MyFitnessPal in the past...I wish these services would work out a relationship so I don't feel like I'm abandoning one for the other. They tend to share data, but each new device I get wants me to use their own app exclusively.
I think these headphones are great and are well worth a look. I would highly recommend them to someone wanting to get their hands on a good pair of headphones that won't fall out, are wireless, have good battery life, and offer a hr monitor.

There are many good things to say about these headphones, but only after you've had the patience to configure them correctly. For starters, the earpieces are very customizable. It comes with 4 different sets of sizes that are most likely guaranteed to fit your ear. But the problem is that changing between them is quite the challenge. You can't just easily pop them off and pop another on like you would expect. Instead, you have to wrestle with the rubber ear piece trying to fit the entire plastic headphone through a tiny rubber hole. At least you only have to do this once though. I recommend trying the earpieces in your ear before changing them. After that is done, it also took a while to find the 'perfect' position in my ear. Sometimes, it felt as if one ear was fully covered, and the other was not. However, I finally noticed that there were instructions on how to put them on. You have to put them in at a slight angle forwards, then twist the ear pieces back into to place. That does seem to do the trick - most of the time at least. The last setup you have to do is getting the heart rate monitor to work. This is probably the least painful step in the entire setup process.
After all is said and done, the headphone itself is quite decent. They fit snugly in your ear with not movement at all. The wire that connects the two is, in my opinion, at a perfect length. It comes with a tiny clip that you can clip to the back of your shirt to prevent even more movement of the wire. I really like the controls being on a separate piece other than on the earpieces, as that means changing songs won't move the earpieces itself which can cause some discomfort. You can easily check your heart rate by tapping on the right ear piece, and a voice will tell you your heart rate. It would have been nice to be able to turn the volume of it down because it is very loud. Since you have to be connected to your phone to use it, I don't see why they couldn't set the volume on the same level as your bluetooth volume. The sound quality of your music probably won't blow your mind away, but it's not bad. You could probably achieve good sound isolation after you've found the perfect position for the earpieces, but I was unable to do so.
Overall, the JBL Under Armour Wireless In-Ear Headphones are not bad. They take a while to set up, but after you've given them enough patience, they're a very nice pair of headphones. I would recommend it to anyone that does not have a heart rate monitor device (fitbit, smartwatch) and would like a pair of quality wireless headphones.
