    Ok Earbuds

I've had these for a couple of weeks. Overall, they read your heart rate and have decent sound qualty for music. They come nicely packaged, but I would have been happy with no fancy packaging and a better price. There are several sizes of "enhancers," little bud covers that have to be stretched over each bud. I found that to be difficult and annoying. Once in place, I then had to fit the buds VERY carefully in my ear in a specific place on my left ear to enable the heart rate reading. The JBLs paired easily to my iPhone 6 and once I read the instructions on turning them on, was able to get my heart rate. That too is awkward. You have to tap on the right ear bud and the response was slow enough that I will sometimes haveto repeat the step several times. They have decent sound quality to play my music, and there is an app that can be used for various health related options, but basically for $200 you can check your heart rate and play music with your phone wirelessly. I guess I expected more.

Sound quality, build, look and feel are all top notch. There is nothing I can say bad about these headphones in those aspects. The heart rate sensor matches near perfectly to manual readings and other devices I trust. This really is a quality product. BUT... Why the 3 star rating? This may just be me, but I can not get both earpieces to fit me comfortably. I have tried all the included ear cups and combinations but can only get one to feel right at a time. I can not get them to both stay comfortable and secure. If not for the wrap around design, at least one would fall out within 10 minutes of me using them. This is a personal problem I am sure and probably has nothing to do with the build nor design. But this is a review of my experience. I think most people will love these headphones and have no issues. I, however, would not purchase them again for myself. My wife tried them on with the default ear cups and she loves how they feel. Guess I have picky ears.

No Sweat Audio - exercise In-Ear Headphones

The JBL - Under Armour Sport Heart Rate Wireless In-Ear Headphones are the best working out style in-ear headphones I have used. The sound quality is quite good with strong bass – nice for cadence beat during exercise. After fitting the in-ear headphones using the included earbud tips (ear pieces, 3 sizes using TwistLock™ and obtaining a good seal, I could not get them to fall out - nice) of the appropriate size for my ears the fit was comfortable and the in-ear sensor read my heart rate accurately while providing great audio. The right earbud touch sensor provides spoken on-demand heart rate updates and can be optimized for your endurance training sessions to achieve your personal goals. Custom coaching is available through the UA Record™ app, and has a dashboard for connected fitness. You can view in-workout training analysis and get customized heart rate feedback. The 12-month premium membership to MapMyRun (a very popular app for fitness) great for setting up your workout schedule and tracking progress. I used the online manual for set up – easy to understand. Battery life was more than ample for even my lengthiest workouts. They are sweat resistant which is great if you are drenched in sweat. They also have a nice carry case. Cool.

The Under Armour Sport Wireless Heart Rate Headphones by JBL are a high-end in ear wireless device marketed for the avid runner. While these headphones are high quality and overall a good choice, there are a few drawbacks consumers should be aware of. I have tested these headphones in outdoor, gym, and relaxed environments over about a week's use. The Pros: The in ear fit can be a little tricky at first. With four different sized buds, once you find the right fit the headphones feel as if they are part of your ear. The sound is better than average; I found it could personally use a little more bass. But the fit did a very nice job of blocking out ambient noise both outside and in the gym. In a relaxed environment (home), I didn't really notice a difference. The heart rate functionality itself is a very cool feature. I find that it comes in handy the most while doing long periods of cardio. The built volume controls were also a plus. Out of all the wireless sports headphones I have used thus far, the button design for these controls was the most durable and handy for a run. I don't like having to control music playback on my phone itself while exercising; this made it easy. The Cons: The only major complaint I have with these headphones is the length of cable. I find it to be about 2 inches too short, especially if using the clip located on the back to secure the headphones to your shirt If this clip is used, the over ear clasp presses down on top your ears and causes pain while running. Doing this gave me a headache and I had to unclip them. Afterwards I had no problems, but the headphones were more loose than before. This problem was more pronounced when wearing a tank top or shirt with a low cut. I also thought the heart rate sensor detection was hit and miss at times. It takes some adjusting of the ear bud cover to get it right. It also doesn't function as well if the headphones are not clipped. Overall: I would recommend users purchase this product if they want a set of high-end sports headphones. I think these are especially useful for an avid runner who likes to know how their performance is doing via numbers. The battery life was better than average, but nothing to write home about at 8-10 hours of use. I'm surprised that the headphones didn't come with an app or anything to determine jogging distance, workout performance, or anything in that realm.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It offers up to 5 hours of use on a charge but it varies due to certain reasons such as genre of music being played and volume level. So if you're playing music with loud bass and the volume is at 100%, the battery would drain faster than when you are playing mellow or soft music and the volume is at 50%. Try and play mellow music/slow music with the volume at 50-70% and compare battery longevity.
If the issue persists, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/contactus for information regarding your warranty options. JBL

This is my second pair of wireless earphones, the first being the Bose SoundSport model without the ability to check your pulse. The two vary greatly, so I will do my best to tell you the differences so you can make up your own mind. Price: The Bose I have cost $150, and if you want to get the model with the pulse checker ability you will pay $200. So they are exactly the same with that respect. Accessories: Both pairs come with three different earbud sizes, and they both are easy to switch out. They both also come with a handy carrying case to secure the earphones when you are not using them. They are very handy if you want to throw them in a bag and they won’t get dirty or touch anything directly that way. After all, these go in your ears and ears are gross sometimes! Comfort: Both companies make a great product and the earphones lock into the ear in a very similar manner. The difference is, the JBL’s have the added ear loop that really holds them in place when you do more intense work outs. They REALLY hold. Both are really comfortable and will stay in when you run. Both products are really light. I love how light they are and they just feel natural and don’t get in your way. The one thing the Bose have that I liked was the length of the cord. The cord is just too short on the JBL’s for me. I like how the Bose have the shirt clip that attach to the back of your collar in case you have one pop out on the extremely rare occasion. For the JBL’s, the battery is in the microphone located on the cord. It has a 5 hour battery just like the Bose, and there is not much weight to it. The Bose have the battery in the ear pieces, which makes them stick out a little more than the JBL’s. To me, it really makes no difference since the battery is exactly the same. Pulse: The pulse feature is cool and works really well. I will be honest, I have no way of comparing it to anything else to check it’s accuracy. For me, I am not a super athelete, but the feature is really cool if this is something you require in your work out. Sound quality: This is what separates the two, as there is really no comparison here. The Bose SoundSports simply have obvious better sound. They have crystal clear highs, mids and bass, and they complement any type of music you listen to from spoken word to Rock or R&B. The JBL’s have solid mids with “okay” highs, and completely non-existent bass. To make sure, I tried adjusting the settings on both my computer and iPhone to see if I could get better sound. Nothing. The sound is equal to some of the high end models of Skull Candy. They are nowhere in the ballpark with Bose or Beats. The three stars is really just for the sound. With them being the same price as others that have superior sound, they just don’t make it to the same level. I would recommend another brand to a friend for that reason.

When it comes to listening to your favorite music this wireless earphone is excellent. Sound quality is second to none with the noise reduction feature it produces an excellent stereo sound, of course the heart and soul of this earphone is made by JBL, they also add a heart rate monitor which I think it's very helpful when your running. The reason why I only gave a for star is that it doesn't notify you when you when you received a text message and there's no equalizer control in the app. Over all this wireless earphone is amazing. FYI at first it's uncomfortable in the ear at first use, use it a day or two and you won't notice that they're there.

I love the design of these headphones, unfortunately they just do not fit my ears. The smallest ear bud is still too large and falls out of one ear or the other, hard to keep them in (I have small ears lol). The little pouch that comes with them is cute. Nice design. I had my son try them, he likes them, although he had a hard time keeping them both in his ears as well. They sound great for talking and listening to music. Easy to connect to phone. Nice headphones, they just did not work for me. Wish they had smaller ear buds.

I have used a number of different brands of headphones over the years some cheap ones that were pretty good and some expensive ones that I realized were way overpriced. In the past when I'd get headphone I would take them out of the package, plug them in and go. I actually read the instructions with these and I would recommend you take a couple minutes to do so. It did make setup go smoothly. Have them paired with my computer and phone and all works as it should. Sound quality is far superior to others I have spent equal to or more on! I would say they are in the top two for sound. Call quality is just okay but then again I didn't get these for the purpose of facilitating conference calls. The heart monitor is a plus and seems to work as it should. I haven't found any that are always spot on. During workouts, they stay in my ears! And they do this without the excess pressure on my ears from some that I have tried. If i have one complaint it is the difficulty of changing the ear pieces. Maybe my fingers are too big but it took more time to change the ear pieces that it did to get them configured. Overall I would definitely recommend these for anyone who needs a pair to use during their exercise routine.

These ear buds come in a very well-crafted box Pairing was quick and easy with multiple devices and connected to the UA Record application just as fast. Connectivity was a bit spotty at times when my devices were in pants pockets or with my hands in a jacket pocket. (the directions do indicate they work best with your device in an arm band) Sound was crisp and clean for Bluetooth; bass was present and better than some of my other ear buds but not as good as larger headphones. The earbuds ship with a size 7 ear piece installed and include one larger and 3 smaller sizes. Replacing the ear pieces was an exercise in futility, having to stretch the silicone correctly over the units. The earbuds fit well, twisting and locking into your ears, but I found myself constantly fidgeting with them since they seem to sit more on the ear than in it and the left side with the heart beat sensor feels different. The pulse feature seems to work well once it finds it and if the left earbud doesn’t move much. The connecting cord wraps around the back of the neck and has a clip to attach it to your shirt, however, this places the control buttons low and near the back of your head, which doesn’t matter if you like your play list without wanting to jump around. The microphone for phone calls is also on the control which makes it difficult to be heard/understood when talking on the phone. The volume control actually controls the earbud volume and not the device volume and the volume is loud enough to tune out most other sounds. The earbuds come with a silicone carrying case. For the price, it would have been nicer had it been a charging case rather than just a holder. Overall, these are nice earbuds and I will continue to use them. I would recommend them to a friend if they went on sale or the price is lowered, otherwise, I believe there are better options at this price point.

My First Pair of Wireless Headphones

The Jbl - Under Armour Sport Heart Rate Wireless In-ear Headphones were the first wireless headphones I have used. I was eager to try them and see how they compare to my wired earbuds. I am not one to normally like ear buds and usually find them uncomfortable. I opened the box and immediately realized the ear enhancers that came on the ear buds were way too big for me. I chose the size 5 (the smallest available). Changing the ear buds was not easy. The thin rubber felt as if it might tear while stretching it across the ear bud. I finally got them on. You will need to download the UA Record app and install it, then create an account. This was easy and quick. Then you just sync your smart phone's Bluetooth to the earphones. The heart rate feature worked fine and I was easily able to get my heart rate both before and after my workout. The ear buds were comfortable and connectivity was great during my 30 minute walk. I enjoyed not having a wire swinging in front of me as I walked. The only wire is the one that goes behind your head. The sound was great as I listened to Pandora from my phone. Overall, I like these earphones and look forward to using my free 12 month membership to mapmyrun.com and fully utilize the earphones. The only negative was switching out the ear enhancers, but once that was done, everything else was great.

I am happy to say these have great sound, if you can find a pair of ear sleeves that fit you. The default attached were too big so I put smaller ones on. This worked to get them in my ear but were too loose to close the area around my ear for proper sound. You must get a good seal on the headphone to get any decent sound quality to come out. The bendable ear stems do not hold shape for smaller ears and if you tilt to one side or move your head to quickly they will come off easy. With that said I did enjoy them for non movement times (sitting, walking, standing) and with 5 hours of battery life it was decent to use them. However even with the app not installed (health tracking) I would still hear the prompt "Adjust headphones" many times as I was putting them on and just getting ready to use them ( since it was trying to read my heart rate). So that was annoying to say the least. In conclusion, I would use these if they were given to me, but I would not buy them with the battery life they have since most of my audio listening is done in longer times then these can manage. In the package you would get: headphones manual charging cable (usb) installed ear gels with 4 additional sizes to customize your fit carry case ( zippered circular type) and warranty cards in different languages

Decent Wireless In-Ear Headphones for Active Types

The primary focus for these in-ear headphones is clearly for those who are dedicated to serious exercise and sports activities. The over-the-ear approach assures they'll stay on. The app is about exercise, health, run tracking, heart-rate and other activities. If this describes you then these probably deserve a higher rating. My review is more on the basics - connecting, sound quality, fit, ease of set up. - They come in a nice package that exudes quality and include a water resistant pouch - The printed documentation is in such fine print I could not read most of it. I could make out the start up guide - barely. It assumed a lot and so I had to make some guesses. Thankfully, I was mostly right. - There were only a few passing references to the App in the written info. The information left me feeling this is for a target market that has some prior knowledge that I'm not part of. This reinforced the sense that this product is exclusively focused on it's target audience. - Once charged, pairing was fairly standard. No unusual problems. - Initial sound lacked base. After changing the buds it improved but is not as strong as others I've used. - Changing the buds is not easy, which insures they'll stay on. My overall impression is that these are fine in-ear headphones that are targeted at extreme activity applications and health tracking and not the general listening market. If that's you, these are worth a closer look and I would recommend that you read reviews from those who are part of the target market.

    Quality Audio with Comfort Issues

I really enjoy the quality of the audio on these headphones. The audio sounds immersive and is a good mix of middle and upper tones without too much bass. These have a slightly larger range than others I have used, and I found the touch controls to be intuitive (tap and hold to turn on, and tap to check heart rate). The inline remote/mic also works well. I found the heart rate check to be a few points higher than actual. The battery lasted around 6.5 hours, with a mix of audio, a few short phone calls, and some heart rate checks. I did find that the battery percent displayed in iOS was not accurate (I'm not sure if that is an issue with these headphones, or iOS). There are three battery warnings - low, very low and critically low. I enjoy that feature, rather than just shutting off without any indication as some headphones can do. They take a few tries to figure out how to put them in, and once you figure it out it is easy and they will not fall out. However, the shape rubs against my ear, and makes them very sore after an hour or so (they do come with different sized tips, but this didn’t help my situation). I would guess that this is different for everybody, but I would recommend trying them out.

So I received the headphones and they look similar to the Bose wireless earbuds I have. First thing, I try them on and the installed ear pieces fit great. I usually have a hard time with in ear headphones, they make my ears itch. These didn't. They are just really comfortable and I left them in for longer than I have for other ones I own. I paired them up to my Pixel and started listen to a Stephen King audiobook. The sound quality was really good, at least to me. As I listened, I started skimming through the instructions and saw I needed to add an app. Did that and they give you a free year code for Mapmyrun. Of course the app doesn't have the headphones listed. So I tweet the company and ask where I enter the code for my free premium year and silence. No one has answered my tweet. I tried installing a few of their other apps, Mapmywalk and same menu. All th UA items, but no headphones. Anyway, I'm sure I'll figure it out sooner or later, but if you're looking for ease and works right out of the box, you might want to do a bit of research first. If you're just looking for a great set of earbuds, then these should fit the bill.

The head phones were very easy to connect to my iphone 7 Plus. I downloaded Under Armour’s Record app and I was able to connect the headphones via blue tooth. I like how the app lets you set audio prompts after you reach a specific distance or time. The audio prompts tell you your pace, distance, calories burned, heart rate and heart rate zones. This is nice instead of trying to have to get your watch to turn on and find the data or having to try and swipe through your smart watch as you are exercising. It is nice to have an audio option too. What I really liked was that you could tap on the Under Armour logo on the right ear bud for an audio update about your HR, this was very convenient especially when it is darker. The HR seemed to be accurate when I compared it to a smart watch and a smartwatch hooked up to a chest strap. The longer I rode my bike, the more consistent my HR was. When lifting weights, the accuracy went down some, but it was better than just a smart watch. Chest HR monitors still seem to be the gold standard for HR, when lifting weights. The fit is nice. I prefer in ear head phones that can rest on top of the ears with a loop hook. I ride an Air Assault bike that uses my arms too and I need a good fit from keeping in ear phones from falling out. The hook loop on top seemed to help keep the head phones on tight. The ear phones use an open design, which does let you hear noises around you (cars and people when you are outside) but it will not block noise (exercise machines, music played over speakers, etc). I listen and watch streaming on an ipad while working out and when riding my Air Assault bike, the noise from the bike fans did cause me to turn up the volume but not at a level that hurt my ears. I do wish that the ear buds did go further down the ear canals to block more noise. The ear phones came with a nice and easy to use carrying case and there are four different size earbuds which is nice. The ear phones charged using a micro usb port located on the remote. The remote was easy to use to pause and fast forward or reverse songs too. I would rate the sound as good as it gets when using Bluetooth. No Bluetooth ear phone will be perfect and using head phones while exercising is not considered perfect conditions for optimal sounds. The ear phones are rated IPX5 so they are not fully waterproof, but they are rated for light rain and they survived a 50 mile indoor bike ride and I sweat a lot. If you are someone who likes to listen to music while, walking, jogging, biking or some other form of cardiovascular exercise and wants to know your pace, distance, calories burned and HR but does not own a smart watch or fitness watch and does not want one, this is a great item. If you do a lot of weight lifting, cross fit or High Intensity exercise where your HR is going up very rapidly, I wouldn’t recommend this for you, buy a chest HR monitor. Sound is good and the ear phones did an excellent job of staying in my ears while riding my bike.

For anyone that's not completely sold on buying a smartwatch and wants something they likely already use in a workout to be able to check heart rate these are GREAT! As far as comfort goes, these are good and have several different sizes of buds so you can get the right fit and most importantly they stay put. The accuracy of the heart rate monitor is good and they can log a couple hours of activity while you're listening to music. They charge fairly quick and last easily through a workout. Pairing is simple and the Under Armour app is good too. The last thing I would mention is the sound quality is solid and what you'd expect from JBL. Overall, I'd recommend these due to the features and comfort.

Sound is good (though I prefer hearing less background noise) and the ear phones did an excellent job of staying in my ears while riding my bike.

I would recommend this to a friend
