JBL - Under Armour Sport Train Wireless On-Ear Headphones
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#####Setup/Testing/Conclusion#####
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JBL - Under Armour Sport Train Wireless On-Ear Headphones. You’re looking at a well made, great fitting, sweat resistant design with powerful bass and audio. The headphones themselves are made of a rubber like material and have some really soft cushions as far as earpads and under the headband goes. The earpads themselves are surrounded by a mesh/jersey-like material. Under Armour and JBL went with the materials for the Sport Train Wireless On-Ear Headphones so that it fits securely, is vented and it keeps you dry during your workouts. Along with that, the headphones have a water resistant rating of IPX4 so it should be fine to have splashes of water but don’t expect to have it take anymore than that.
Using the JBL - Under Armour Sport Train Wireless On-Ear Headphones is quite simple. On the right earcup, you’ll find the power switch which also acts as the pairing switch, volume rocker which also acts as track navigation, and a central button thats multi-use for things like call management and voice assistance. If you’re at the gym and someone comes up to you to talk to you, you’ll find the TalkThru mode feature a great addition to these headphones. The TalkThru mode basically allows you to fade out the music you’re playing so that you can conversate. If you’re wondering where this TalkThru button is, it’s essentially built into the Under Armour logo of the right ear cup. Just give it a tap and you’ll be able to talk to whomever your talking to without having to take off your headphones.
Now onto the performance. I was definitely not disappointed by any means. When I’m at the gym pumping iron, I’m the type to like music that has some pretty heavy bass. These headphones are able to provide powerful bass at even high volumes. Guess what? Even at high volume the bass isn’t all distorted either. If you’re worried about the mids or highs, don’t be. You’ll be pleased to know that the JBL - Under Armour Sport Train Wireless On-Ear Headphones also put out excellent mids and highs. So all in all, performance is definitely awesome; deep bass and clear vocals! These headphones are also rated to last approximately 16 hours.
Overall, I am actually very pleased with the JBL - Under Armour Sport Train Wireless On-Ear Headphones. If you’re currently on the hunt for some on-ear headphones that provide some deep bass and clear listening experience while pumping iron without the fear of damaging your ear cups with your sweat; give the JBL - Under Armour Sport Train Wireless On-Ear Headphones a shot.

JBL made a pretty solid pair of headphones with these Under Armour Sport bluetooth headphones. The box that these headphones come in is impressive to lay eyes upon.
The carrying case for these headphones is nice. Rugged and solid, and it looks like it belongs to someone who means business in the gym. Unboxing the zipper for the case and you see the headphones within. The folding headphones are really nice and compact to fit inside this case to keep them protected.
The fit and feel of the headphones is very nice when set upon your head. The fit is cushioned and fits snug on your ears. The tightness of the headband feels a bit too snug at first, and a tad uncomfortable. I had to get used to this and eventually it became a bit more bearable.
The sound quality though is where these headphones shine. Working out with these headphones is fantastic. Due to the snug fit you can run in these and get some good quality sound. I felt these were much better than earbuds I use for working out. The bass is deep and the sound is clear. I have enjoyed the clarity of the audio for just listening to music in the office or home environment.
Overall I think these are great bluetooth headphones that paired well with my iPhone XR. The range was nice and no drops in the connection. I think JBL and Under Armour put out a great set of workout capable headphones here. I've been happy with the durability and the sound quality. Great for ages young and old, male and female.

---SETUP---
The setup these wireless headphones by Under Armour is easy. After turning it on, bluetooth begins searching for your mobile device and just one tap will pair them.
---FEATURES---
The key feature of these headphones is that they are specifically made with the athlete in mind. They come in a very nice and sturdy portable case. They can also fold in to make them smaller while in storage. The case has a mountain gear-like hook to attach to your gym bag. The ear muffs can be removed for washing after sweat has accumulated.
---PERFORMANCE---
The performance of these headphones is superb. I first tried them in a loud restaurant while I waited for food. It drowned the entire restaurant out. Later that night, I took them to the gym for their intended purpose and as expected, they do keep most outer noise drowned (though these don’t have active noise canceling). They can extend to accommodate various head sizes but they fit me snugg. This is good because if I do workouts on a bench, they won’t slip out.
---EXPECTATIONS---
The product meets my expectations. Not only do they look amazing but they attract attention. I had 3 people ask me where I purchased these headphones and I referred them to Best Buy. They are slick and the buttons are just the right ones: one for volume up and one for volume down, the on switch, and a pause/play button.
---VALUE---
The price for the headphones in terms of value is competitive with others in its range.
---APPROVAL---
I highly recommend this product for people who want to have a great workout while listening to their favorite soundtrack or watching Netflix on their phone at the gym.

Lightweight, Good design, Good Sound...

This is the first "On-Ear" headphones that I have tried during my workouts (I prefer in-ear buds - jaybird tarah are still my favorite). So, far I have had good experience with these headphones but keeping the price range in mind, I think I will give them average rating. I am not sure what other options are in lower price range but you can definitely have similar sounding "in-ear" headphone for much less.
So, here are my observations after one month of use.
Positives:
- Lightweight and secure fitting design
- Good audio quality
- Effective talkThru feature
- Great battery life
- The perforated ear cushions furnished with UA's SuperVent fabric, which is engineered to soak up sweat and keep ears cool. The cushion comes out and can (should) be washed
- Good wireless call quality
- Standard bluetooth range, very quick connection to my Galaxy S9+, No connection drops
- Sturdy case
Not so good:
- My main problem with these headsets is that I can't keep them on for an extended period of time. This is because they compress against my ears really hard (this is by design to keep the headphones stable though).
- Lack of active noise cancellation
Overall, these are good headsets for people who are looking for "On-Ear" headphones. For people who are happy with "In-Ear" headphones (like me), there is nothing extra in these which will force you to make a switch. I know few people who have issue with in-ear headphone where the ear buds keep falling out of their ears because of the sweat etc. I think these will be really good for them.

After having tried multiple bluetooth earbuds and less expensive over ear headphones I was tired of them not fitting well or breaking within a short amount of time. I was going to buy the Rock branded ones but thankfully found these, which are the same thing, just without the Rock branding and higher price. Some people have said these don't have as much bass but what they do have is fine for me. I use these in the gym and mostly listen to hard rock/metal and 90's hip hop and I have zero complaints about the sound quality. I do wish they got a bit louder at times, but other than that I'm very pleased. My biggest surprised is how comfortable they are and how well they stay in place. I wear a 7.5 fitted hat and these fit very well and are comfortable for my gym sessions, usually about 2 hours, they don't move around very much and they hold a charge for a long time. It comes with a nice carry case that I keep in my gym bag that is ventilated so they can dry out overnight. I'd highly recommend these if you're looking for good quality gym focused headphones that can take a beating.

-= Sound Quality =-
As you would expect from JBL, the sound quality on the Under Armour Sport Wireless Train headphones is great. These headphones seem to favor mids and highs more than the bass. The bass is good, but the highs seem to overpower the bass at times.
Now, that’s not to say that these sound like cheap “tinny” headphones by any means. In fact, listening to George Ezra’s “Shotgun” on these headphones really brought out the lows that I hadn’t really noticed before. However, these headphones are not quite up there with Bose sound quality.
-= Design =-
These headphones are meant to stay put during a workout, so they tend to “squeeze” your head a little more than other headphones. This normally wouldn’t be a problem, but the ear cups aren’t quite big enough to cover my entire ear. Therefore, the ear cushions actually press against my ears (instead of around them) which can start to become uncomfortable for me after about an hour or so.
The ear cushions can actually be removed and washed when they get sweaty, which helps prevent the stank from using these at the gym. Please note that you cannot throw them into the washing machine with the rest of your gym clothes; they must be washed by hand.
-= Features =-
My favorite feature of these headphones is the TalkThru function. By tapping the Under Armour logo on the right side, your music automatically lowers and the microphone starts broadcasting to both ears. This allows you to have a quick conversation with a friend or hear directions from your workout instructor. There is a slight delay which makes it awkward for me to talk (my voice is over amplified and echoes), so it’s better for hearing rather than talking.
There is no active noise cancellation feature on these headphones, so they will not completely drown out the sounds around you. There is also no built-in heart rate monitor like the in-ear JBL Under Armour headphones.
The controls on the right ear cup allow you to play and pause your music, adjust the volume with a single tap, skip and rewind tracks, answer phone calls, and activate Siri or Google Assistant on your phone.
This is also an AUX cable included for when you want to directly wire the headphones to a device (instead of using Bluetooth).
-= Battery Life =-
The headphones can last up to 16 hours on a single charge, so if you’re only wearing these to the gym, you can probably get through a week without recharging. The headphones charge with a standard Micro USB cable.
-= Summary =-
The Under Armour Sport Wireless Train Headphones have great sound quality and stay securely in place while working out. The TalkThru feature is very useful and saves the trouble of having to take your headphones off every time you want to talk. However, there is no active noise cancellation, so you may still hear the noise around you. Battery life is sufficient and uses a standard Micro USB cable to charge.

Burly headphones that stay on your head

I have tried several "workout" headphones over the years and found they all had the same problem, they would not stay on my head whenever engaged in vigorous motion. Any kind of jarring would send them flying which got very annoying. So picked up these JBL, and boy they stay rooted, Its almost vice like with how little flex there is, but I say that as a good thing. However you will eventually feel wearable fatigue from the tightness, so your head and ears will need breaks. Sound is good, by no means audiophile quality, but for gym time they do very well, clear sound - strong bass. They aren't noise cancelling, but the thick cups eliminate a lot of gym background noise. No issues with Bluetooth connectivity for listening, it has stayed linked to my phone every occasion of use. Phone integration for talking\making calls is good, callers have never made complaints about not hearing me or I'm not hearing them when piped through the phones. Thankfully JBL was wise enough to keep a mini RCA jack as a backup audio input. Controls are practical in placement and intuitive in the use. Battery is roughly 16 hours, but seems like it goes on for ever if they are used at just workout time. its usually weeks between a needed recharge for my use. I like how the ear cups can be removed and washed separately, without risk of completely splashing the phones, but it helps they are water resistant and can survive a few drops. its certainly a premium priced workout headphone, at least to my budget, but as its checked the primary box of not parting ways with my head I'm happy with them and glad I picked them up

These are definitely gym/workout focused headphones. The over-sized buttons/switches are great, but the overall design aesthetic is definitely more sporty than professional looking. The biggest problem I have with these is the tight fit combined with the firm padding material for the earcups makes these uncomfortable to wear (for me) for more than 15-20 minutes. I suppose the tight fit is a design feature so that they stay on your head during intense workout sessions, but it's not really what I need. Definitely make sure you can either try out a floor model in-store or return an open package before you buy.
Sound quality is what you'd expect from a JBL-labeled device. Sound is good for the price tier that these are at. Not quite as bassy as a Beats set, and not as clear highs as Bose headphones, but I think the sound balance is perfect for gym use. The listen-through feature is a good addition, for those times when you need to hear what's going on around you (these are not noise-cancelling however).

So they definitely are a strong and durable pair of headphones and quite appealing and rugged looking which is what I usually look for when getting headphones meant for working out. Now some of the cons
Volume-
so the volume on these aren’t very loud which can be very annoying especially when your at the gym and can still hear background music.
Bass-
Now the bass isn’t that amazing either, although they do have a nice sound to them I usually go for something with more umph to get me going at the gym.
Ear cups-
To be fair they are on the ear cups so you should expect it to get uncomfortable and they do a nice job of staying on your head but, I would say they stay on a little too good in fact after about an hour my ears start to thump from being compressed by the cushions
Overall the headphones aren't bad especially for the price they are offered at now and some of these problems might not be an issue for some of you, although there weren’t enough checks in the boxes for them to pass in my opinion. I like the direction they were heading Into but I feel like they missed a few crucial components.

I got so tired of people coming up to me when I had in ear buds and talking to me. I saw these on BestBuy.com and thought I'd give them a try. I agree with the other reviewers. They do fit kind of tight. It's not uncomfortable. They could be louder as well but they get loud enough. They also keep the "talkers" from approaching. The controls are easy to work. They are not heavy. They stay put when I'm doing any kind of weight training, boot camps or running. The sweat dries quickly. The pads are removable to wash. They hold a charge for a LONG time!! They may not be the prettiest things on the planet, but I LOVE them!

Superb design. Everything about this is well thought out and perfectly executed. The ear cushions sit directly on the ear. When researching, I initially thought I would not like this, but the material is soft and cushiony and the inward compression gently molds the material against the ear for a perfect fit. I hate the feel of inside the ear rubber earbuds so this is a great alternative.
The controls are the best I have ever used on any pair of headphones. The power button is a slide and hold, virtually eliminating any chance to accidently power them off or on accidently. Likewise, the volume/next, and pause/play buttons are also well placed and easy to find/feel to control while wearing with 100% confidence. Bluetooth 4.1 connected immediately with my Bluetooth 5.0 device and the sound quality is excellent.
So far I have done several workouts and they have performed flawlessly. They stayed in place just fine during a gym kettlebell workout, no frequent adjusting or fiddling that I became so accustomed to with other headphones. I also went for a 5K run outdoors and had no issues whatsoever, except when running directly into the wind you will notice a slight noise from the turbulence but hey, you are running outside, what else would you expect? Being able to use these for running was a MUST for me and I am extremely pleased with how well they worked.
The talk through feature is actually great. It allows you to leave the headphones on and hear/converse with others around you by pressing the UA logo on the right ear. I would compare it to wearing a communication headset because you hear your own voice amplified and played through the headset so you can talk at normal volume. I don’t usually make calls through my headphones but did one call just to test it out and it worked perfectly.
ANC is a missing feature frequently mentioned in reviews. Don’t worry about it. Unless you plan on working out on an airplane you won’t miss it.
Lastly, some reviews mention low volume even when turned up all the way. This actually happened to me right out of the box, but simply turning my device volume all the way down and they all the way back up again fixed it. True full volume provides a powerful commanding sound experience.
Bottom line: if you hate earbuds but want a premium sound experience while working out or running this is the product for you.

These headphones are very comfortable, clear, loud, and stay put during my workouts. Love the one touch volume lowering feature. Great feature is the ability to remove and wash the ear pads. I like that they stay on my head and have loud volume bc I play PUBG and when worn around my neck they are waaay more comfortable than the Skullcandy Crusher ANCs eventhough I like Skullcandy just as much as JBL if not MORE. Ive had this pair before and they hold up... I was very happy to buy the last pair of these Under Armor JBL headphones at $50 off! They are great! I even use these as earmuffs in cold weather. I like that they are a tight fit but maybe others wont like it as my head is small? But if Im using the restroom I really dont want them to fall off and these wont. JBLs best headphones IMO. The other better ones are loose and "comfortable." I just want mine to stay on my head and they certainly block out outside noise when on... not sure if this is noise canceling or not... I wont buy a pair of headphones that dont plug directly in... like I gotta have an AUX cord.

I went with these because they were washable and durable. They have lived up to that so far but getting the removable ear pads back on are a pain in the rear. I read some reviews before buying and someone said they werent adjustable, maybe they didnt notice or they have been improved but they are adjustable. Sound is what most have said. Nice highs, clear bass but not strong base. The controls can be tricky as well, They were on sale for $169 so they were moderately priced. Sad that price is considered moderate. Cheaper and better bass wouldve got that 5th star.

This product is intended for the everyday gym go-er….let's get that straight first and foremost. I wasn't looking for sound quality, bass, white noise and all the flares of a Bose pair I use when traveling. I needed a pair that the ear pieces don't decay from sweat and gym usage since I workout daily... not to mention scratches, scuffs, etc.
All of that being said, this product is AWESOME... Heavy duty, great build materials and excellent if you're looking for a pair to throw around in the gym. Not only that, but the exercises that you normally want to take your headphones OFF for, you can keep these firmly on your head. I've had the Beats and Bose pairs that literally slide off your head depending on the angle or positioning of your body.
Time will tell on these keeping up, but for now 5/5...

UnderArmour well known as it always delivers a brand new technology to the sport wear industry. The headphone is very well designed. It can stick on my head even during intense exercises. The best thing is the ear pads can be removed and cleaned easily. Thank to their special fabric. And of course it’s JBL, I don’t think I need to explain about the sound quality. One negative thing is it cannot be used for the outdoor activity if you need to wear a sunglasses or spectacles.
