Zac Brown in interviews leading up to the release of the Jekyll + Hyde CD, had said, "Our boundaries have dissolved and we're going to still do things that are somewhat familiar that people like, but we're also going to stretch out and take chances beyond what we've done before. Some people are going to be really surprised," the singer told Rolling Stone Country back in November of last year. Well, after listening to this album, they certainly meant what they said and it is a wonderfully diverse piece of work. Probably, in my humble opinion, the most diverse selection in their ever-growing catalog of music. For instance, Zac and the boys allow rock superstar, Chris Cornell, to handle lead vocals on the piece, Heavy Is The Head. Another example is the near crooning style of the song, Mango, which features Sara Bareilles. and Tomorrow Never Comes features a Celtic/folk feel to it. Of course there's plenty for fans of their trade-mark sound and harmonies too, which can be found in such songs as the single, Homegrown, Loving You Easy, and Remedy. You can even find some R&B influenced songs on this treasure - One Day, as well as others. Truthfully, I love this album! A must have for folks who simply like good music - this one is truly a monster of a record! Pun intended...

    Mixture of genres

Zac Brown band have been known for trying different genres but this album has definitely pushed the limits of genres. There are songs like "Tomorrow Never Comes" that has pop influences sound with guitar, "Heavy is the Head" that has heavy rock rifts with help from Chris Cornell (of Soundgarden) and "Mango Trees" that has a jazzy frank sinatra vibes with help from Sara Barielles. Even though there are different sounds on this album, the band sticks with their country roots such as "Homegrown Honey" and "Junkyard."

If your a fan of the Zac Brown Band, this album is one to have. It has a little bit of anything and it is not your typical country album. Like a lot of country artists, they are stepping away from the stereotypical country side. His song with Chris Cornell is just amazing. When I first heard it on Sirus XM Octane, I was amazed and it just made me a bigger fan of him.

I have loved Zac Brown Band since their very first released album "The Foundation" back in 2008. Since then, I have purchased every album they have ever released. For this one, one particular song struck a cord with me, and it's titled "Homegrown". If you haven't already heard them on an album I strongly urge you to do so.

Zac Brown Band in a New Direction

Let me start by stating that I have not been a major Zac Brown fan prior to this album. This album truly returns to the heart of what rock and roll is: a combination of various musical styles. The ZBB have sincerity and poise in their lyrics here, along with help of other artists, and the album truly embodies an artistic roller coaster.

I'm a music fan, so I wouldn't shoehorn me into any one type of music. If it sounds good, and can stir something inside, I like it. This CD has something for everyone, Slow, Fast, Rockin, Heartfelt, and Toes in the Sand. Just because it's label Country, doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a listen.

This album rocks. And I mean rocks, not country. The song with Chris Cornell of Soundgarden shows a different side of Zac Brown that I really like. This album has a nice variety of different music styles which make it worth buying for sure. You never know which song you might like on a given day.

The thing about this album is that it touches base on so many different topics with a variety of different styles, while still maintaining that country feel. Jekyll + Hyde is a great title for an album that can be very soft and calming such as 'Mango Tree' to a rock style with 'Beautiful Drug'.

ZBB sees much more experimentation on this album. Perhaps a lot of country lovers will be disappointed but it's interesting to see them experiment with Pop, Rock, reggae and obviously country! Overall, it is a good record and fun, but it is true, they are best at their country sound.

    I was so impressed by this CD, I gave it to my wife to hear. Weeks later, when I did not have my CD and it was on sale, I forgot my prior purchase and bought it again: it was as good the second time. {I still haven't gotten the first back from my wife, so she must have liked it too!}

I heard the song Heavy is the Head in a commercial, and liked it. In addition, there were several other really good songs, like Beautiful Drug, Loving You is Easy, and Remedy. The Zac Brown Band plays a variety of styles on this album, not just their typical country sound.

    A Little Different Music

I liked almost all the songs on the CD except for two of them. They were a bit more hard rock than I was used to hearing from Zak Brown so I usually skip those songs. I really like the songs with a bit of "the island touch" to them and the mango tree song is cute.

Not what you expect to hear from the Zac Brown band, but fresh and different. This is more of a Crossover than a Country album. Vocals are good and the Instrumentals are as impressive as always for this band. I enjoyed this album fittingly titled Jekyll and Hyde .

If you want to hear the exact same sounds from ZBB, this may not be the album for you. If you can appreciate an artist with good range, ability to cross genres, and experiment a bit then you will enjoy. May not be filled with "radio worthy" hits but enjoyable.

The sound is very similar to his previous albums with the exception of Mango Tree. This song sounds as if he should be performing it with a top hat and a cane. Otherwise, the album is very enjoyable and I would recommend it to other Zac Brown fans.

I was surprised by how good this album is, given that it is not simply another country album by the ZBB. If you're looking for country songs, there are a few on here, but ZBB seems to sound good no matter what genre of music they're playing.

Zac Brown delivers again. A good mix of the typical ZAc Brown sound with some new directions taken musically. Overall a very strong CD from beginning to end. 16 tracks is almost a double album for must bands and Zac Brown delivers on all of them

Zac Brown Band hits another winner! Excellent musical and vocal talents showcased here. Wide variety of style but yet still the same "down home" quality to the vocals. "Mango Tree" a terrific salute to Jimmy Buffett. Not a weak track on it!
