Nice to update movies to current format and watch a couple episodes at a time.

The series as I stated in my summary is IMO one of the best miniseries ever shown on television. The one problem with this Blu-ray is the 9 minutes that were cut out. Thus the reason I feel it only deserves a 3star rating.

This blu-ray edition has a slight improvement in picture quality over the decades-old first edition DVD. The difference is most apparent on a 4K TV whereas the DVD has no more detail than would a VHS tape. As for the missing minutes, it was a single cut comprising three significant events, two of which that occurred at the Last Supper; Peter being informed by Jesus he would deny Him, Judas being identified as His betrayer, and the third being while Judas visits Zerah with some reservation. I would recommend the program, just not this edition.

It had been ages since I had seen this 1977 Franco Zeffirelli mini-series and wondered how it held up. While there are parts of it that I wish had been handled differently, and while portraying Jesus is a challenge no actor can truly fulfill, this remains one of the best filmed lives of Jesus. Sometimes it is hard to see beyond the big name actors, but overall this is well worth watching again.

I really like this movie very much. The biblical story of Jesus during his journey on earth from the time He was born to His crucifixion that we read in the bible comes to life. I just got to have it to add to my movie collections. This movie is a timeless classic and a must have for all Christians out there!

This set contains two Blu-ray discs to hold the whole four part story of this TV mini-series from back in 1977. The acting is superb and tells the wonderful redemptive story of Christ. The video is in the 4:3 format (square) instead of 16:9, but that's due to it being made for TV before there even was a 16:9 format. :-)

I either never watched this completely in the past or just did not pay attention, since I really enjoyed the series and will will definately watch again. The video quality is excellent.

I recently watched this movie online and after watching it-I knew I had to have this movie! It’s one of the best movies made about the life and death of Jesus! Buy it-you’ll be glad you did!!

This movie was one of my favorite's..musical score, scenes that could have been a painting (lighting and all)..it is a long series, so if you don't have time to watch the entire movie, I suggest doing each DVD in 2 days.

The movie is old but it is a beautiful movie. Everytime makes me cry. The price was worth it. Beautiful pictures.

This is a great movie to watch as the complete miniseries presented on TV previously. You can watch at one sitting or break it up into each of the miniseries as shown in 1977. Good for anyone who didn't know the story.

This movie was already a masterpiece on VHS, then DVD! Now it's an EPIC Blu-ray must have, in any Christians' movie collection! Plus, the price is fantastic!

It is a long movie, but I do not mind watching it every year during lenten season. It is a great adaptation of the life of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A Great Classic TV mini series that is very enjoyable for the Whole Family

This is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen and I think you would like it to.

What more can I say! This movie is such a classic! Great way to bring a visual of the story of Jesus to life!
