    Frustrated by this game

This game is terrible. I was expecting it to be more like the Fit Board but it is boring and slow. The fit board has slow response. My movements were not captured properly with the game, I would move one way it would move the other. There are only a handful of activities, all alternate with running.

    Huge disappointment

I have been using the Wii Fit for 4 months now without missing more than a week (I went on vacation and my husband wouldn't let me take it with us). As you can imagine, I was getting a little bored with the same old program. When I heard that this product was coming out I was so excited I could hardly wait for it's release. I love Jullian Michaels on The Biggest Loser and felt like this game would really keep me motivated. What a dissapointment! This game has less variety than the Wii Fit game. Every workout consists of the same 10 motions (Running, activity, running, activity, etc.). The game character doesn't respond to your movements like it should. I really felt like the developer's dropped the ball with regards to the boxing portion. That is my favorite part of the Wii Fit and Wii Sports; however, in this game the person kicks whether you do or not. The music was good, but that is about all I can say about the game that is positive. If you are thinking of buying this game, I would hold out for something better.

    Disappointed

I was very disappointed and frustrated with the game, mostly due to the slow response or no response from the game as you did the activites. A couple activities, namely the log jumping and the grenade throw would only occassionally respond to the movements that I was doing as instructed by the game. There is a lot of running. You run, do an activity, run, do an activity, etc, however if you run faster, it just goes the same, slow, steady pace. Disappointing because towards the end she will tell you to finish strong and you pick up the pace with no results on the game. With the wii fit, if you run faster your mii picks up the pace and runs faster as well. Also there is a activity where you are to cross logs with your arms straight out. Keep in mind you are to be using the nunchuck and the wii remote. This is impossible to do because the cord is to short so it is impossible to have the your arms straight out as instructed. This was VERY poor thinking on the part of the developers. So I just sat back and did nothing and the game went on as if I was still playing as if I was keeping myself balanced on the logs. In comparison with the wii fit, the instructor will tell you what you are doing wrong, for instance maybe you are putting too much weight on your leg. With this game, it continues as if you are still doing the activities. The positives would only be that you can unlock pointers from Jillian, (if you have the patience to overcome the frustrations of the game not working properly) and it will show you how many calories you burned. You can also choose your workout level and how long you want to workout. If the game worked properly it could have potential to be a semi good workout.

    Don't waste your money

Bought this at Christmas and didn't open it until today after I had worked out with EA Active (great, by the way). The graphics were poor, the movement was jerky on the screen and the controls did not match what I was looking at on the screen. It was a good idea, but poorly executed. For example, the tire drill, instead of having me look at tires in front of me, the tires were presented in a side view and it took forever for me to get the control to lift one leg and put it down. There's no need to actually exercise, just shake the control up and down or sideways or whatever way to get some kind of on screen movement. Get EA Active, you'll be much happier.

When I bought it, I was excited about working out with it. And I thought it was my fault that it didn't work, before I read the other reviews. Except for the running and rowing, it doesn't follow what you're doing - the cannon fire, grenade toss and tire run are completely impossible. I spent more time trying to master the exercises than actually exercising. I recommend something else if you're looking to enjoy breaking a sweat.

Even though the response time was slow and sometimes non-existent, I still put everything into it and got a good cardio workout. I love it, but was a little disappointed at the same time.. more research and development could have been done. This has the potential to be a good game. I'm also disappointed about the lack of tracking. The graph is lousy. I hope Nintendo comes out with more fitness games (but done better than this one). I still recommend it, but would definitely tell others about the downfalls of it.

    Waste of Money

This game is a waste of money. Not only are the graphics and audio horrible, the controls are clumsy and it's a nightmare to get the game to recognize the movements you are doing. You will get a workout while playing this (since you have to make wild gestures and movements to make your chracter do anything at all) but you won't have fun.

You have to get used to it...

So, I was stubborn and refused to believe all the other reviews. How could our beloved Wii release a game that doesn't recognize movements? I bought the game to investigate fully knowing I could be disappointed. My first two tries were joke. I tried to throw a punch for 2 minutes and it didn't recognize even one punch! Since you cannot return games to Best Buy, I decided to call the manufacturer. They were very helpful and friendly. (The guidebook says you can return the game to the manufacturer within 90 days if you're not satisfied.) I spoke with the guy that is responsible for testing the products. (What a job!) He gave me MANY tips and he was very pleasant to speak with. Here's the scoop: Don't start with the fit board. Start with just the remotes and master the movements before you add the fit board. The remotes do not have to be held so the sensors "see" each other. The remotes have a movement sensor in them, so you need to hold them like ski poles. Your moves need to be deliberate and in synch. On the bottom of the screen is an accuracy bar to help you with movements. After following the manufacturer's advice, I was able to get my movements in synch with the display (for the most part). It would have been helpful if these tips were printed in the guidebook. I guess they were in a hurry to get the game on the shelves for Christmas. In summary, I tried all 10 exercises tonight, 2 minutes each, got my heart pumping and burned about 120 calories. That makes up for the glass of wine I'm having as I type this.

    Just need the tips...

After about 4 days of using this product, I was ready to return it to the store! I hated it and other reviews I had read agreed with all the problems I was having. During one last ditch effort, I tried www.epinions.com and found one review that helped me SO much. I tried the tips and now I LOVE this game. First, only use the balance board to weigh in. Otherwise, it is a huge hindrance. Second, unless you only have an arm's span of 2 feet, don't use the nunchuck either. Just stick to the two Wiimotes. For running, the easiest option is to have a Wiimote in each hand and make a drumming motion while you are running (and you do ALOT of running). The other option is to alternately punch across your body while your are running. The vertical bar in the lower left corner needs to be completely filled in order to "run" (that is the power up). All other activities are similar. Most require your whole body to really get into it. If you need to dodge a punch bag, squat in the direction shown and "drum" the Wiimotes. The only activity that seems pretty pointless is the log walk. The hardest thing about that is keeping your arms at shoulder height for the allotted time, but otherwise the Wiimotes do nothing for it. If you have any other problems figuring things out, call the manufacturer during their business hours. Their website will offer no support except to say to call. But they will help you! Please, this game is really great if you can just use these tips!! Keep going!!

This game is awful! Do not waste your money. I can not believe Jillian lets them put her name on this game. Half the games do not work. If they do work, you have to bust your butt for it to think you are even walking. Does not make you want to use it again. Very discouraging.

Marginal graphic capabllity, board doesnt's respond to movement which lend to little to working out. Jillian cashed the check on the marketing deal but I would be embarrassed to have my name on this product

I can't get this to register my movements when I am using the board, but if you just do everything without the board, you can work up a good sweat. I have been using it for just over a month and I have lost 5 pounds so far, so I think I am getting some benefit.

    Good Idea Awful Game

I bought this game with high hopes before reading any reviews. Biggest mistake of my life. This is the WORST wii game ever. The publisher Majesco rushed to put this product out in time for Christmas and as a result the product is sub par. I read many other reviews and called the tech support to get some help. Basically he told me to preform a drumming motion in order to make my Mii move. Honestly if I wanted to play the drums I would have bought Rock Band. The only good thing about it is that you can choose your time and the the exercises you want to preform, so you don't have a wait between exercises like with the wii fit. I can't believe this made it past review boards to be sold.

I bought this game and was very excited to try it out as the rest of the people who commented. I had the same problems. I couldnt get the MII to run, it was very touchy and would not read my steps the same throughout workout. I had problems getting my board to read even though it was in sync. Some of the excersizes did not work , like the boxing, and picking up the cannon balls. I was very dissapointed. I also thought the choices of workout where repetative and worked out mostly your legs. There should be better options, graphics, directions ( A MUST) and overall, a new game!

I love The BIggest Loser and Jillian, so I had high hopes for this game. Unfortunately, it didn't perform. The response time is slow, if at all - your mii takes a few seconds to move after you do. I had to play the tires course three times before I could get my person to take more than one step. The interaction with Wii Fit was especially disappointing. I played with and without the balance board - it made no difference. I swear it doesn't actually register the board at all. I played for less than an hour, and I seriously doubt I'll ever play it again.

I thought this game would be good since Jillian is the trainer. I was under the impression it would be like a sequel to the wii fit but it is no where close to that. I was disappointed because the response time between the wii board and the sensor is horrible. It takes sometimes more than 3 seconds if at all to make your person move. The point of running after every exercise is pointless is your character wont do what your doing on the board. I would personally not suggest this game to anyone. Waste of money!

The grenade toss doesn't register picking up the objects. Running can be artificial just by moving your arms up and down with the remote and numchuck. Too long to get into the game - I want to get started right away due to limited time for exercise. This isn't even fun-just frustrating overall. WiiFit is better if you are looking for variety and fun to get you motivated to start and keep exercising.

I cannot even begin to explain how upset I am with this product that I was so excited to buy. I am a huge fan of Jillian's, but she should be ashamed of this product! I have tried dozens of times to make the game interact w/the balance board, all to no avail. WiiFit works great even accurately measuring my weight so, I know it's no the board. It is also very boring compared to WiiFit. If I thought I could get my money back, I definitely would try because I will probably just give it away.

I got this because my wii fit disc has become misplace and I really enjoyed the workout. I is no replace for the wii fit disc but it does give a good workout if you put work into it. the timing is off on certain activities. It is nice to be able to customize your workout and time it. although it does not always save the workout (that is frustrating not getting credit for my work). I can work out with another person, plus you get fitness and diet tips. I decided to order another wii fit disc b/c it did not quite measure up.
