Can't use mic for calls, died within 5months

Sound was OK through the headphones but they are advertised to be used with phone calls and I couldn't be heard clearly when used during calls. The biggest ripoff was that these EPIC headphones died within 5 months of average use, always while at the lowest volume setting. Very disappointed.

I have had the ear buds for a couple of weeks. They are quick to power up and connect, but within 4 hours the low battery notifications start. The 11 hours of battery life are grossly over started. Good selection of ear buds, but poor value to other Bluetooth ear buds I have owner.

This is my review of the Elabs Audio - Epic Executive Wireless Noise Canceling Earbud Headphones - Black. In this review, I will be referring to this product as the “Exec”. I have never really had much interest in earbuds, mainly because they hurt my ears after a short time. I can never seem to get the full sound quality because they never fit right. I have large ear openings I guess and I am always pushing the earbuds in or messing with them to try to get them to fit correctly. I assume that’s why they hurt my ears. This time was different. The Exec came with enough different sizes that I found a set that matches my ears for comfort and secure fit. Believe me, it makes a huge difference. I tried the ones that were on the speakers as default and I thought the Exec did not sound that great. When I found the right fit the sound came through with great quality. The bass is deep but not overwhelming; the highs and mid range tones are well balanced and distinct. For the price of these I think they are very well worth it. I am going to go over a few of the features I like and a couple of things I don’t. The instructions are brief but explicit and easily understandable. The Exec is Bluetooth controlled so I can listen to music up to 30 ft. away from my phone. I like not needing to have a cord attached to my phone. Could you imagine a 30 ft cord? And calls I receive also come through sharp and clear, even at 30 ft away from my phone. All of the controls are right at your fingertips. Control your music and take your calls using the small module that rests below your left ear about neck level. You can feel the controls for pause, play, skip, volume, etc., without having to look. As part of the package, you get a semi-hard case to keep the Epics in. It’s a nice case, not fancy, but adequate and it will protect the earbuds. They call the piece that goes behind each bud a “cush-fin”. The cush-fin is adjustable and removable and provides support to help the earbud stay in place. It definitely adds to the comfort and helps to keep the earbud in place. It’s another reason why my ears do not get sore. The Noise cancelation feature works, maybe not as well as a good set of over-the-ear headphones, but well enough to keep unwanted distractions out. That is all I really want anyway. You have the option of turning it on or off from the side of the controller. There is a green light that lights up on the side when it is on.The noise cancellation on the Epic is at least as good or better than it is on earbuds that cost 2 or 3 times as much. Overall, I really like the Jlab Audio Epic Executive noise-cancelling earphones. I give them five stars. They are a quality product at a very reasonable price, and they deliver.

This is my 2nd pair of JLab ear buds and I have to say they are pretty decent. I prefer the behind-the-head design over my JBud Pro’s which just hang down under the chin. There are six different tip choices and two sets of fin cushions to help hold the buds in your ears. This is the first time I’m using the fins and I have to say I am impressed with the fit, which is solid and comfortable. No worries about these falling out on their own. There is also a somewhat formed casing that fits over the neck wire which makes it more comfortable to wear. The Epics paired almost immediately to my phone and iPad and pair to both if both are in range. The buds will play which ever device plays first and will switch to the other when the first device goes silent. Charging was fast and the battery lasts through 4-6 one-hour commutes. The sound is bass heavy but balanced nicely with highs and mid-tones. Not tinny or cheap sounding at all. I didn’t notice any difference from the JBud Pro. The Epic Executive has Active Noise Canceling but I’m not really sold on it. When you turn it on, you hear a burst of white noise then they seem to level out and lows like engine noise seem to disappear. One other thing about the ANC, it works even when the buds are powered down so when you turn it on, you need to remember to turn it off, otherwise, it will wear down the battery. I like the convenience of being able to connect a 3.5mm headphone jack for non-Bluetooth devices or those times when the battery dies. I would have rather had just one plug though rather than the USB adapter plug that connects to your buds and a separate plug to your device. I still dislike the wire JLab uses in their earbuds, its thin and seems to have a strong memory effect. Overall, I am pleased with the JLab Epic Executive headphones and would recommend them to a friend.

I purchased this device as a secondary set of headphones, to use when I'm resting and listening to audiobooks. After using it a few days/evening, I tried recharging the device. Initially, the first couple of times, I thought it was me, possibly not setting up the headphones correctly on the charger. Turns out, it was the headphones. They simply wouldn't hold a charge. Lots of lost money. My wife had thrown the box away - cleaners! So, I could not return the product. I would definitely not recommend this product!

What's important to me in bluetooth headphones? Comfort, sound, connectivity. Comfort - I have very small ears so comfort is very important. JLab has definitely listened because there is now an extra small headphone rubber and a medium cloud foam tip. These cloud foam tips are one of the best things that I have seen in a long time. Squeeze them and place them in your ear and they mold to your ear. Beware, it is uncomfortable for about 2-5 minutes but then you won't even know that they are even there. I switched back to the gel tips and I was so happy that there was an extra small size and they fit perfectly. Sound - There is no app to adjust volumes so you basically use your device equalizer to control treble and bass. I normally leave mine off and the sound is still great to me. Battery - I have gotten over 4+ hours of continuous playback, I typically don't listen to anything more than 4 hours. I am unable to correctly say how long the battery life last but the headphone do fully charge in less than 2 hours, there is also a battery indicator bar that displays on my phones notification bar. Connectivity - Bluetooth set up is super easy. Just push the center button on the right side headphone (with the volume buttons). Beware that you are not able to walk away more than 5-10 feet with losing connection. There is an auxiliary adaptor in case you still want to plug in the headphones. The headphones also come with a carrying case as well! Would I buy these again, ABSOLUTELY! Recommend to friend or family. YES!
