JLabs has established itself as the clear leader in value headphones in my opinion. The JBuds Pods ANC continue that trend, coming in at an extremely low price with impressive features. On top of that, they have excellent sound compared to other inexpensive earbuds that I have used.
#Unboxing and first impressions#
The JBuds Pods ANC come in a pretty standard cardboard box. Inside the box, you get the earbuds and their carrying case, a small accessories box with different sizes of the ear tips, and a very short USB-C cable to charge the case. Notably for an inexpensive earbuds set, the JBuds case charges wirelessly, as well. I haven't seen wireless charging on a set of earbuds anywhere near this price point so I think that's pretty excellent. In addition to the wireless charging capability, the case also reports its charge level to your phone when you have at least one of the earbuds in the case, which can be very handy and is not included in many lower priced earbud sets.
#Using the JBuds Pods ANC#
Pairing the JBuds Pods ANC to my Galaxy S25 Ultra was super easy. I just took them out of the case, removed the plastic that protects the charging tips, and then reinserted them into the case. When I removed them next, they were immediately in pairing mode. While in my phone's bluetooth menu, I got a prompt to add them (the easy pairing feature you see with a lot of BT 5.x headphones).
Sound quality is greatly dependent on having the right size ear tips on the JBuds. I found the sound pretty tinny and lacking in bass until I put the correct size on them (the largest size was needed). Once I did that, the sound was very impressive for a value priced earbud. Solid bass that isn't overpowering, a decent noise floor, and overall a warm sound. I tried the JLabs app on my phone as well, which gave the option to try the Spatial sound profile, and I found that does give you a very open sound stage but a little too processed sounding for my tastes.
The active noise cancelation on the JBuds Pods ANC is really impressive. I had the opportunity to use them on a relatively long flight across the country this weekend, and I was actually kind of amaze at how well they reduced the engine noise of the plane. Like some of the best ANC headphones I have used, the JBuds Pods reduced engine noise and made it easier to hear my child's voice in the seat next to me - something I don't often hear with overly-aggressive ANC headphones. The JBuds also have a "Be Aware" ANC mode that boosts all sounds, which can be helpful for in-flight announcements. You can switch ANC modes by holding your finger to the left earbud for a second or two.
Comfort is very good -- I had no problems wearing them for an entire flight, with the caveat that the "stick" style earbuds do make it more difficult to lay your head against something without dislodgiing them. On the other hand, like many stick earbuds the extra protrusion gives them a lot of stability when moving around and they do seem to stay seated in my ear canal quite well for mowing the lawn and such.
#Final Thoughts#
The JBuds Pods ANC have supplanted my previous recommendation for a true wireless earbud for less than $100, and they do so at a far lower price. I've used many different earbuds during my time as a Tech Insider Member, and the JBuds Pods ANC are only beaten by earbuds that cost 3 times as much - they are a fantastic value and easy to recommend.

These are actually some really great, affordable earbuds where the sound quality is solid. The noise cancellation is great while listening to music. If you are using them to block out noise with no sound, they are good. You can still hear people chatting, but their voices are more muffled than without the earbuds. Still good though. While listening to music, the sound quality and cancellation are great because you can get lost in the music without disruption. My son, who is 14, thought the bass quality could be better, but I thought it was great. Just enough bass without overpowering the sound of the song. Different age groups and different perspectives, so the bass and sound expectations are different for everyone. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the earbuds didn't stay put in my ears or my son's ears. We tried every single earbud attachment, and every so often, while wearing the earbuds, it would slip out a little. That can be quite annoying if you're walking, working out, or even while sitting.
It only took a little over an hour to charge the earbuds, and if using them most of the day, it lasted about 2-3 days. The earbud quality feels long-lasting, and other than it slipping out of my ear every so often, it is comfy to wear for a few hours. I would def recommend these earbuds.

I picked these buds over paying an outrageous price to the same brand as my phone. When I opened the box everything was packaged as you would expect from a premium brand. The quick-start guide made connecting very easy. Once connected, I did jerk around and move as if I was running or working out and I did have issues with the buds coming loose. The comfort pads they come with are one size and I felt you have to push them in well to keep them in. The pros are if I am taking a meeting on my phone they are a great alternative however I would not recommend these if you are working out. They also are charged by my earbud charger that I have but never used. Another thing I noticed is that I can’t seem to hear any difference between the sound modes with noise canceling. I honestly can’t tell when it’s on or off. Once you download the app, you do have different modes however they don’t seal well enough to your ear canal to tell a difference, or at least my ear canals. The app also lets you adjust the EQ however without the good seal in the canal, the bass/treble seems to have little to no difference when adjusting.
Overall, I think they are a good alternative to taking calls/meetings however if you are looking for workout buds or high quality sound I would look elsewhere.

The JLABS JBuds with active noise canceling will provide you with superior sound quality. They provide crisp nice bass directly to your ears from your favorite electronic. They allow you to take phone calls with clear sound. The MIC is really good picks up the voice very well. The battery life you could not ask for any better, or longer battery life. I personally used them over a week on and off and did not need to charge them a single time. They can seem a little bulky, but that in no way is a negative because they are very comparable to others in the market. They do have a little tail that does stick out passed the ear a little but nothing too big. The Bluetooth set up was very simple and personally had no issues setting them up. They are a solid build, and JLabs has done a great job with this JBuds. Lastly but not least the active noise canceling comes very handy when you are trying to focus while working and listening to music while you may have a noisy background from other people talking.

I am very hard on earbuds. I mean like super hard on them. I will get maybe a couple of years out of the supposed "premium" earbuds because I will wear them constantly at work, at home, at the gym, when mowing, when running, when doing everything (except showering or sleeping of course!). And so even in a very short time I can put earbuds through their paces. I am happy to say that these have held up to my usage for the past week or so with 0 issues.
Initial Setup & Usage
I paired the earbuds to my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and downloaded the accompanying app. I noticed that sometimes the button presses wouldn't register, it could be because I sometimes have poor circulation in my hands, and so I just started using the app to control the ANC settings. The button presses to corresponding action on the earbuds wasn't super intuitive to me at first, but once I got the hang of them I was using it pretty easily and reliably.

Sound Quality
For this category I am going to break this down into a few different sub-categories to rank. They will be Music, Podcasts & YouTube, and then Movies & TV Shows.
Music
I really enjoyed the quality of sound out of these earbuds. From the highs, to the lows, to the amount of bass it was all pretty good straight out of the box. Listening to 90s rap & hip-hop, followed by some 90s country, to 90s R&B, it was all serviceable & sounded nice. I was pleasantly surprised with how well they performed.
Rating: 5/5
Podcasts & YouTube
Spoken audio can be a little different & that is why I like rating it separately. What might sound great for some forms of music, might sound muddy, or too boomy for spoken audio (to me at least). That said, with these earbuds I didn't notice any booming voices or muddy sounding talking from any of the Podcasts & YouTube videos that I listened to. It sounded very close to how it did on my TV with my 7.1.2 surround sound system for our home theater setup that we have. Was perfect sounding. I was again pleasantly surprised.
Rating: 5/5
Movies & TV Shows
I then fired up Plex on my phone & turned on a few different movies & TV shows listening to each for a total of about 7-15 minutes by flipping through various parts of the movie or TV show respectively. Again, transitioning from music, to dialogue, to background noise, everything sounded as it should and sounded similar to our home theater setup. Again, that is a $1000+ sound system set up vs. some earbuds; and while it wasn't exact (the home theater sound system is going to obviously be better), it did sound very pleasant to my ear, as well as to the ear's of my family members as we all got a chance to try out the earbuds.
Rating: 5/5
Conclusion
In closing, these earbuds are becoming my go to pair for working out, and doing yard work. I am extremely pleased with everything from their fit, build quality, and sound quality too.

The JLAB JBuds Pods ANC – Black are another pair of JLAB earbuds that are most definitely worth their price. I did have a problem with my phone trying to discover the JLAB JBuds Pods ANC – Black. I tried several times to scan my phone’s Bluetooth, but never had Jbuds pop up on the screen. I tried, instead, to use the JLAB app to connect the earbuds to my phone. I simply tapped on the picture of my JLAB JBuds Pods ANC and followed prompts until pairing was successful. Controls of all of the functions are done by tapping the right or the left earbud to perform a specific task. I can control volume, play/pause, forward track, siri/ok google, answer calls, hang up, reject, and EQ change. The EQ can change the sound into bass boost, balance, custom, and JLAB signature. The JLAB JBuds Pods ANC sound great as JLAB always make my ears “smile.” Within the JLAB app, I have Ambient sounds that can be played and a Burn-In Tool for 40 hours continuous play. The JLAB JBuds Pods ANC – Black are a good pair of earbuds with a charging case included for continuous music and communications.

I wanted to love these ear buds, but I'm kind of disappointed. This doesn't have anything to do with the quality! They're really nice looking, with a high-end feel to them. Sturdy, shiny, compact with a nice charging carrying case that lights up to let you know when they're fully charged and everything. The sound is top notch, no issues there either. They're just so big! Maybe I have small ears, but even using the smallest bud cover, they always feel like they're gonna fall out. I've usually stuck with the type of wireless buds that can hang around the neck for this very reason, being worried I'm gonna lose one of these completely wireless types. When I start to feel like one is coming out, my natural reaction is to press it firmly back into my ear, and adjust it. Problem with that is I end up inadvertently pressing the buttons on it hanging up the call or switching modes or something unintentionally depending on which one I'm adjusting. Which brings me to my other point, you're kinda forced to wear both because they each control different functions, such as volume, answering / ending a call, noise canceling (etc.). I like to have one ear open so I can stay aware of my surroundings. Also means that if you lose one, you have to replace the whole set! The range is also not that great. You have to stay pretty close to your phone or your call will drop. Not a deal breaker, but I tend to move around alot when I'm on the phone or listening to music while doing chores. If they were a bit smaller and the buds could be worn separately, I'd give them 5 stars.

JLab in the ear headphones plays music and has some good functionality and features.
App is easy to install and gives quite a few options to them, but they lack intuitiveness for using those features or changing them. Yes, the information is in the app, and you can learn them, but unlike other brands, not as easy to get the functionalities to do what you want intuitively.
Audio/Sound - Subpar from my opinion. I have adjusted the sound settings with custom settings and still a bit lack luster. I was hoping the sound would be better and the controls would work flawlessly.
Microphone - is the worst I have reviewed from an in ear headset. I messed with both the settings in my iphone and in the app to no avail. Very muddled, I tried from the previous version of an iphone and my current one, my son's phone and still not acceptable.
The connection works but it seems to fight, unlike other headsets, I had to turn off my bluetooth and then turn bluetooth back on, connect it through the app and then it would connect/pair to my phone. If I disconnected/removed from my phone and then tried to set it up again at a later time, I had to do similar scenario.
Not the worst headphones, but was expecting a bit more.
