    No OS, No Go...

Apologies in advance to the manufacturer if I missed something in the description but the JLab Talk Go microphone doesn't do what I initially bought it to do. I wanted to connect it to our Samsung Sound Tower speaker so the kids could sing along with their tunes and my wife could connect it to the same speaker for use as a PA system at her organization's events. However, the JLab will not work unless it is connected to a device running an operating system. "Dumb" speakers aren't compatible. I feel a bit naive but I assumed plug and play meant just that as nowhere in the description or specifications tabs on BestBuy.com is there information pertaining to the OS requirement. I found a different microphone with a USB adapter that does what I need so I'm good in that regard but it was a minor frustration initially. I'm not a podcaster and really don't have much need to record myself but in fairness to the JLab Talk Go I downloaded Audacity and played around with it for a while. There was basically 0 setup getting the JLab connected to my laptop. The kids had a good time watching their voices make the graphs on Audacity bounce around and the sound recording was perfectly fine. I noticed that I could move quite a bit in any direction away from the microphone and the quality of the recording barely fluctuated. Although it was a bummer to not be able to use it as I wanted, I can say that at it's price point, the JLab Talk Go is a perfectly fine option for it's intended use.

Good mic for voice overs, podcasts, etc

However, not a mic I would recommend for online meetings like zoom, unless you are using a headset. While the noise cancelling on this is decent, I’ve had 2x occasions while using the PC speakers, I would get a feedback loop. Partly due from positioning of the mic relative to the monitor, and maybe people using lesser quality mics on their end with zero compression or terrible gate levels configured. I also tried to use this while gaming, and my peeps said I sounded REALLY good, I found that I had to position the mic too close to my mouth for them to hear me loud enough. I adjusted the loudness settings, but then the quality suffered. Again. Great mic for recording podcasts, video/voice over edits/narration. Also, worked REALLY well with great accuracy for dictation with Dragon Voice software at the office. The design of the JLab TalkGo is nice, up to date styling and appearance. The Illuminated light ring is really cool looking at night. This is a beginner, starter mic, and understanding that - you have a great device to sound professional and clear when used properly.

    Gotta Love Blue-Foot Mike!

This little guy is so darned cute! What worked for me was a program called Speech Notes. I plugged Blue-Foot Mike into the USB port, studied a bit to learn how to have him slanting away. And how to press "Mute" to answer the phone or deal with an interruption. "Mute" is a red light, and "Listening" is blue, so it's easy to tell what mode you're in and no lost words. I'm just an old lady with a book to write. I began dictating an email on Speech Notes space. It went very well! Mike is easily folded up and set aside. Or left sitting out. Those adorable blue feet are rubberized, so once you position Mike, he stays. I feel that for the price it is top quality for my needs, definitely well made. I am not handicapped, but having been a word processor, I find my input these days is full of typos. Being able to dictate is lovely.

The look of this mike is really cool. The tripod is functional. However the limiting factor is the length of the cord. From the distance it’s plugged into the computer and the microphone is about 4 feet. If it were longer you could have your camera farther in your microphone closer to you. The microphone works really good when you’re 5 inches or less from the microphone. Anything past that you lose clarity.

Not the top of the line but a nice piece. Decent price. Easy if you need to carry it around. Was trying to put the unfolded tripod in a flexible arm holder but is somewhat loose. Bottom button is not very responsive. My son has been abusing the mic for the last 4 months and still working well.

I got this microphone for a friend I play Destiny with after I picked up the higher-end JLab Talk mic a while ago and loved it. He loves it too... but not as much as I love it. Now, when we play Destiny or Borderlands together, he's not constantly lost on what's happening because his Bluetooth audio is broken and will only pick up sound from either Discord or the game we're playing. On top of that, I can hear him clearly and I don't have to deal with having my eardrums constantly powerwashed with scratchy noises during DPS phases of boss fights; and the quick-access mute button means I don't have to deal with it when his end starts getting loud because of family members. All in all, I can barely call this a "gift" because it's made my gaming experience so much better. So if one of your regular gaming buddies that can't afford a good mic and constantly blasts your eardrums into oblivion with their terrible one, throw this at them for their birthday and hear all your problems just melt away.

I was looking for a mic that was easy to setup but gave me good quality for a vlogging project, and this mic did the trick. It's low profile and the quality was very good. Made of good material and I like the fact that the volume can be adjusted on the mic itself.

I recently started making YouTube videos and I needed a microphone. This one was on sale at Best Buy for a good price so I figured I'd try it not knowing anything about them. I was presently surprised and was very impressed. All I need now is a sound room!

So I purchased a mic previously for presentations and podcasts and it was stored away. Then COVID happened and I forgot about the mic. Unfortunately, while moving it got bumped around and I needed a replacement for presentations and zoom classes, so I needed a quick replacement. This mic came through on so many fronts. I love that this mic has two modes (one for singular conversation and another for multiple conversations) and it has a mute button. I will say that to get consistent audio you have to be close to mic. But that's hardly an issue for me. For the price point, this is a great first option for anyone looking to start their podcast dreams or for presentations and zoom calls.

    Good Mic for the Price

Great little mic for the price. It was very light but the stand is heavy so that it stays stable on the desk. This is short enough so that it does not cover my monitors like the big boy mics such as Blue Yeti. Audio quality is decent. However, the built-in headphone jack is so noisy, it amplifies every little sound around you and it is very distracting. I am using this in my office and I can hear the people far away talking through my headphones, which makes me wonder if that is what the other person hear while on a video call using this mic. It turned out that it is not the case and I ended up not using the build-in headphone port.
